Ancient Egypt Part 2

The sun is hot, the wind is rough, my fur and hair need emergency treatment from this hell, but I keep those complain to myself as I weather the environment known as the desert. A desolate wasteland with barely any life, a harsh place that will test your mental and physical fortitude.

Growl.

See, even Tanuki isn't fairing well either.

Cluck. Lucky bastard, it seems sir cluckington is having the time of his life.

"Ahhh, what I would give for some air conditioner and a house" note that I'm just bored….not bored, more like entirely unused to this environment that it scrapes at my mental being.

Every step is heavy, the harsh winds and scorching sun that reflect the uncaring nature of the dessert.

I've always wondered how life was like in the desert, but now it seems that my respect for them has increased.

Feeling my hidden ears twitch, Big D and Tanuki get ready as our next meal approaches.

Steeping up in sand dunes I see beyond the horizon a city, a glorious and prosperous city of Gold…just kidding, it's a city made from sand…clay? Stone? Hmm, I don't know but it seems and looks ancient, so it probably has some history in it.

With a final squint of my eyes do I stop looking and start walking towards it.

Of course I get some looks thrown at me due to how young I am/look but I ignore them and enter the city that seems even more lively, likely due to the fact that liveliness is a must to keep on going in such a harsh environment.

Mad respects for the dessert people that keep on living here.

Right, with that out the way let's move on to the matter at hand, and that is…the women and their skin cause god almighty does it make me want to lick them up! Just look at them! Ahh, god how I want to kidnap one and fuck her right then and there, but I can't, as a high priestess of Tamamo-no-Mae I have a duty to teach the Barbarians the true path of enlightenment.

It may be harsh to deny my lust but I must, I wouldn't dare go back on my target of worship les I suffer an untimely fate.

"Young Lady over there" I look at a suspicious man who embodies the definition of suspicion beckoning me "Yes you, you see right here, I have some…items that might be to your liking" he opens his clack and there in plain sight do I see herbs, ores, weapons and the like all neatly lined up in his cloak.

"Ay, noticing your reaction I reckon you see the true worth of my wares" I nod at his words before looking back at him with suspicion.

"Why are you showing me this instead of other more prominent people?" I ask him a very reasonable question considering I'm just a random if not beautiful frail looking girl.

Of course he laughs as if he heard a joke "Your quite the funny one ain't cha? Very well, think of this as an investment"

"Investment?"

"Yes. If my eyes aren't lying to me then you have a future up ahead and I want in…whadda ya say? Want to have this merchant join your merry gang of friends?"

"Mhmm" I start appraising him, his manners and levels of suspicion remind me of someone. "Deal, now name your price" he lets out a creepy laugh at my judgement before telling the price.

"This herb right here is a Poison Love Bite known for their poison that stings like a lover's heartbroken farewell; particularly used by Poison Cultivators and Assassin Sects" I nod as he moves on to the next one "This herb right here is a Star Fruit, a unique one and quiet hard to come by if I do say so myself, their mainly used by Alchemist and Cultivators that use the Energy of the Stars to cultivate"

I nod once again at terms that don't seem helpful to me. "Do you by chance happen to have a Storage Ring?" Another creepy laugh as he switches sides and shows a collection of Rings.

"Which one?" Creepy bugger.

"How much is your most expensive one?" He points at the silver ring one with golden runes engraved into it.

"Can hold as much as a Small Castle, I'll take a hundred million spirit stones for it" Ah fuck, that's way beyond my budget.

"Isn't that enough to almost bankrupt one of the Empires?"

"Yes yes, but a fair price wouldn't you say?" I nod and keep the idea of robbing him a secret.

"What's the most that a hundred thousand can buy?" He points at the lower echelon ones.

"They can hold as much as a small mansion" I nod as I take out a 100k spirit stones in exchange for the ring. "Pleasure doing business with ya young miss" I merrily nod and leave the alley way.

Turning back I see his figure no more, as if he disappeared from existence.

"Odd…wouldn't you say so too? Tanuki, Big D?" A cluck and growl respond to my question. "Whatever, let's go search for an inn to stay at"

Like that we continue to explore the city, tasting the food, exchanging materials for more cash and such. Oh right, unlike Jade city or whatever Oasis works on spirit stones instead of gold coins, mainly due to this city being a somewhat dangerous frontier against the monsters that dwell within the land.

Walking some more I talk to a few people and tell me where to find a resting spot, or at least one of them that isn't taken.

"Anubis Inn?" I mutter as I look at the inn that makes my instincts go into full alert. Maybe it's because the name of the God of Death is written right there?! Or maybe it's because the name feels fucking conceptual which is a tell sign of how fucked I am!

Truly, what can make me alert?

Growl.

Cluck.

"I'm of the same opinion. Let's go in shall we?"
