this is in some ways an original storyline but at the same time not a great new direction that I see a lot of variations of in the future. The world building is that the earth came into contact with another dimension/plane. Humans enter the other world and there they were designated as lords of a region who have their their own hero to defend and develop their territory. Heroes are generally some fantasy creature that is aligned with a magic element. The main character is a guy transmigrated from Earth into the body of a dragon that is one of the if not the strongest hero of the drak attribute. He gets forcefully contracted by a beautiful talented young lady. The whole system of lords and heroes reminds me of videogames and combined with that there is very little written about the real world outside of the overlord dimension makes the world building feel fake (all fantasy worlds are fake but with a lot of novels the world building is logically connected enough that if magic or cultivation was real it would not be unlikely the world would turn out like that. I don't get that feeling with this novel at all). The novel focuses mainly on comedy so in a sense a logical world building is not that important but it is still annoying. The story itself is fitting for the world building in a similar way that the story of Ash Ketchum fits the world building of Pokémon. People do stuff that don't really make sense in any other world but because of the lord and hero system it does make sense. The story telling itself is not that bad but is isn't great either but entertaining enough for the story to be a time filler. The translation quality is generally okay but not faultless, there is still the occasional usage of wrong pronouns, but I have seen worse. The comedy focuses mainly on the interaction between the mc and his lord. The method for the mc to become stronger is to sleep and combined with an unwillingness to communicate the jokes focus mainly on misunderstandings between the 2. Some jokes make you smile but the majority make you groan because of how corny the jokes are.
Just doesn’t make sense, he wanys to sleep all the time to get stronger, but when he finds out he can level up by killing things he doesn’t, he says he wabts to sleep to level up but it would take him seconds to kill all the enemies and get much more experience. But what can you expect from a Chinese Webnovel such as this one. Long story short this story has absolutely ZERO redeeming qualities, don’t even try it it’ a waste of time.
This is a great novel, but it is ruined by the fact that after the first major arc is finished, it seems the author just found another similar story, pasted it in, just deleted parts that didn't fit that well and has references to things that didn't happen. Everything from the first part is abandoned, except some random mentions, but nothing done by those characters. It seems like its just been copy pasted with new names. The system is inconsistent, the levels have been a mess since the start and also uhh MMC stupid af.
plot: MC reincarnated as demonic dragon on high plane, is summoned through contract to lower realm to be a hero of a girl, the girl is taking care of the boring stuff while dragon is sleeping and using stuff (using resources, money etc.) later known for that as cheater xu. go read for this interesting plot story. background: some time ago earth or whatever it is, met another plane so in the end people could cross realms from earth to the other realm, where people get their hero & territory and strife for good ranking, resources, buildings and military units.
