32 Chapter 32: Quizzing

"I'm just studying elder." said Ken Hai calmly, but this seem to enrage to elder even more.

"Studying you call this studying all I see you doing is simply flipping through books!"

"Do you think it's easy becoming an Alchemist it took me and others years of hard work to get where we are and your just flipping through books!" shouted the elder even more enraged.

The others who were studying looked over at Ken Hai and chuckled "Hmph! That's what you get, I bet he was just trying to impress some ladies." said one of them who's clearly jealous of Ken Hai's face.

Watching from afar, was a girl dressed in a all red beautiful dress, she appears to be about Ken Hai's age and she had a with clear interest in her brown eyes.

"Elder all I wish to do is study here, if you can't see that, then you may quiz me from any three books I studied from."

Hearing this elder harrumphed but he was confident this youngster in front of him was just bluffing.

"Hmph! Fine I accept your challenge!" said the elder as he walked towards the first row of books.

The other men watching couldn't help but laugh at this, "Does he really expect to just remember that much information?!"

Another one shook his head and mocked "It's clear this little brother thinks of himself as some genius!" Each row of book shelves held hundreds of books and Ken Hai just flipped through them like nothing. How could he memorize so much information?

"Hmph! This elder has finally chosen I shall begin with the first question." said the oldman still looking down on Ken Hai, said reincarnater just simply nodded.

"What pills can be made by the Hazy Purple Grass?" asked the oldman.

Ken Hai smiled, he knew this was a trick question, "There are no pills that can be made with this pill, only a couple elixers and poisons, such as the 'Purple Heart Poison' and the 'Fang Slaughtering Poison'."

Everyone hearing this everyone became wide eyed. "The oldman checked the book, and he saw that the two poisons were listed under it.

He stumbled a bit but he kept his cool 'Probably nothing but a fluke, it makes he'd remember something so simple.'

"Tell me what is the core component to making the 'Fire Seal Pill' and why?" the oldman asked the next question.

"Simple it is the 'Icey Wind Flower', it suppresses the heat of the 'Burning Fire Rose' which due to the other ingredients enhances it's power as a side effect." He replies the elder went to check the book and as if hit by a shotgun he stumbled stumbled back a bit. But he composed himself.

'Could this be another fluke? Could he guess what books I'm choosing from? No! He wouldn't I simply chose randomly from the books which has the most information.' The oldman massaged his beard as he looked at Ken Hai.

'Could this youngster be an actual genius!' he thought with wide eyes.

Looking on the girl in red looked on 'Could he actually be a genius?!' She wondered.

"There's no way this 15 year old kid answered that! I can barely even remember that!" said one of the men.

The old man then went back to the book shelf and changed the book he was going to question Ken Hai with, he wanted to know if he was using some strange martial techniques.

"Alright then for your final question. Name the most important ingredients used for curing Crimson blood fever and name at least one pills or elixers are used." said the oldman.

This one was a bit difficult as they are many pills and elixers used in it and you'd have to go through a number of books just to find the ingredients used.

This was a problem as Ken Hai, have only read one book that mentioned what ingredients are used.

This seem to make him pause as Ken Hai held his chin and began to think.

"He doesn't have an answer!" said one of them smugly.

"I guess the last two times were just a fluke." said another one. "If he manages to answer this one I vow to heavens and on my martial soul, that I'll quit trying to become and alchemist right here and now!" said the third one.

"I vow the same says the second." as he swung his head side to side with a smile. "If you too are then I might as well vow the same."

Ken then began to think, Crimson Blood fever, was a severe fever that felt like the person's blood was o fire and as a side effect it made their veins show up in a crimson colour along with the bloods rise in temperature, as their blood is even a deeper shade of red when the person who's contracted the disease is wounded.

Ken Hai couldn't help but smile as the oldman made a really smart move. Sure the question might like it's against the rules at first but the oldman followed up with 'Name at least one pills or elixers are used'.

He already knew Ken Hai read up on it and you might say it is cheating. It definitely is, but Ken Hai will not be trick so easily.

Using his Yin qi he sped up his thoughts as he reviewed all the information he had so far. He went over what he knew about the Crimson blood disease itself, just some of it's effects on the body, he'd need to go to the Medicine Hall for more information on that.

But as he thought of the ingredients one came up that was familiar one that he used in a previous question "The core ingredient is the 'Icey Wind Flower' and the pill is Soothing Ice pill as Crimson Blood fever is a fire type sickness when a cultivator not a master in fire comes into contact with fire qi." answered Ken Hai.

The old man eyes widened "You really area genius, that question is correct!" said the elder much to the shock of everyone there.

Make no mistake it took about Ken Hai 0.2 seconds go through the information in his brain 0.1 for using his yin qi and less than that for answering the question, so for everyone there it was incredibly fast.
