1 Reincartnated as a companion wolf

Life can be funny sometimes, although this could be thought of as one of those moments to some. I on the other hand find this moment to be very confusing and annoying. I was only minding my own business in my room moments ago and now I am sitting here. Below me resides a world I have never seen before while I am staring at my reflection in a river that I don't recall ever living near. The whole city I was in just moments ago is gone.

"Is this suppose to be me? I look like some wolf you see in the wilderness.."

As I look around all I see is vast amounts of trees and the river looks like it goes on for miles. The sky is dark and starry; there seems to be more stars then i've seen in my lifetime. I can feel some sort of power surging through my body that doesn't feel like anything i've ever felt before.

"What the hell is evolution level? I dont even have a name? I had one before I became... this!"

[ Evolution is how many times your character has evolved through your species. Upon leveling up character is given choices based on actions as your leveling. You are a companion species, if someone forces you into being their companion you'll be able to obtain a name for yourself, until then your basic wolf species is naturally nameless. ]

"What is mana? Why is it locked?"

[ The basic wolf species is unable to unlock their mana for use. If you wish to unlock your mana you must evolve into your next species evolution. ]

"Well I wont figure out anything sitting around here. I guess I will have to start moving and figure out where I am. I'm a companion species, eh? I'd rather not be forced into submission like some pet... I best try to avoid that scenario."

I had no idea where I was so I just found myself picking a random direction and following the river. Walking seemed like it would take forever to reach a town so naturally I ran as fast as I could at a comfortable pace. As a human I would have ran out of stamina very quickly, but being a wolf naturally had it's own advantages as I found myself running for a couple hours straight before my stamina finally started feeling faint. There was a town not much further up ahead as I could see the lights of it.

Detouring slighting to my right I soon found myself next to a road. I kept myself just barely inside of the treeline so that any passing merchants or adventurers would not notice me that easily. The last thing on my mind was accepting the idea of some adventurer trying to force me into being their companion. My only thought was to figure out where I was and then figure out where I would go from there. After all, I was a human that was merely forced into being reincarnated as a wolf in this world. Knowing that I had mana and the gods voice in my head that could display my status to me it was obviously a new fantasy world and not earth.

Every time a merchant cart went by the road my ear would flick at the sound of its wheels against the road. Some of the carts were just the merchant and their merchandise while others were carrying villagers and adventurers with them. It seems that they would pay for the merchants to give them rides during their travels. From what I could gather it seems the new world I found myself on was called, Validore and the people who lived among this world were called Validorians. There seems to be humans, elves, dwarfs, among many other races living in this world.

"Is that a wolf?" a mans voice called out to his companions that were walking along with a merchant cart. He seemed to have noticed me walking along the treeline not far from them.

I hope he doesn't try anything. He looks like an adventurer. If he tries to make me submit as his pet I will... Wait where was my train of thought going? Is the species survival instinct trying to take over? I best try to avoid that train of thought. I dont want to find myself killing for no reason. I shook my fur to try and rid myself of the thought.

"Yea, it looks to be a basic wolf. They are known for becoming companions to some people, but unless they level up they are practically useless as they aren't known to be very smart unless you train them very well to do the basic commands they are capable of." another man replied back to the one who was asking about me.

"I dont know about that, but he seems to be wandering towards the town with us."

"What would a wolf want with the town? They are known to avoid large groups of people out of fear. It will probably stop and turn around once it realizes where it's going."

"Are you sure? it looks pretty determined to head into town by the way its traveling."

"Are you crazy, Daryl? It's a wolf, it doesn't have any interest in the town."

Little did they know that the wolf would end up traveling with them all the way to the town gate out of pure determination to learn more about the world he had found himself being reincarnated into.
