Bredret's Rampage (Part 2)

The ground trembled as Bredret shifted his stance. Everyone that had been riding on the dragon began to slide down his back to quickly get to a safe distance. Their heavy panting as they ran away could be heard as Bredret roared out. Buildings far and wide vibrated from the power behind the sound. All the windows within a short distance shattered.

Wyverns, unlike dragons, did not have front legs. It could only use its own two back legs to violently kick straight up into Bredret's gut, sending him tumbling backwards. The claws of the wyvern's feet left scratches against Bredret's scales.

As the wyvern jumped up a blast of hot purple flame shot towards his head. Heat that made it difficult to breathe was quickly countered with Bredret's own fiery inferno.

The two flames collided in mid air as people all around escaped and screamed in terror.

Bredret was not sure where the undead king had gone when they landed. His eyes quickly darted around as he tried to pin point the location of everyone while countering the wyvern's flame. Everything in the surrounding area was beginning to coat in a gray ash. An occassional spark of fire would rain down setting near by market stalls, plants, or carriages ablaze. Some of the common folk even had to quickly drop items they were carrying that had sparked flame on their bodies.

There he is.. Bredret thought as he caught side of the Undead King channeling magic in the shade of a nearby building. A large magic circle was forming beneath the man's feet.

Releasing a loud roar once again his body shot forward and slammed into the wyvern. Stumbling backwards in order to refrain from going down the wyvern trampled down some commoner's homes.

Bredret's tail slowly raised in order to point in the direction of the Undead King. It did not take long for the others to catch sight of the Undead King with his direction. He was well aware of the sounds of everyone rushing to go after the man they had been in search of. His heart pounded heavily at the thought of ending things quickly.

[ Bredret. ]

A faint but loving voice that felt very familiar to Bredret called out to him from beside his right horn atop his head. Out of the corner of his eyes he could see the transparent, glowing, figure of his beloved Celeste. She was always by his side, no matter what.

I must have imagined it.. It's been so long since I've gotten to hear her call my name. Maybe I really have gone crazy. He thought to himself as he felt he must have hallucinated the voice of his beloved. She was not able to communicate with him ever since the day she had died.

How desperate must I be for those old days, for me to hallucinate her voice in a time like this. He thought as he recalled the days when she use to ride atop his head while clinging to his horns.

His golden eyes glowed brightly as a river of flame poured from his mouth and nostrils straight down onto the wyvern and streets below. The searing flames melted everything it touched whether it was object, life, or the scales of the undead wyvern that roared and tried to counter the flame with its own.

The purple flame was unable to completely block Bredret's attack but his own flame could not be mistaken as weak. All around the two of them the area was scorched black as puddles of unknown black substances bubbled up in random areas. The streets all around were lit in a two toned hue of gold and purple.

Becoming weak from the over bearing attacks from the massive dragon, the wyvern trembled in desperation and began body slamming himself against Bredret repeatedly. His talons and fangs trying desperately to rip into the thick scales that protected Bredret's body.

Sinking his fangs down into the wyvern's neck and slammed it downward into the scorching hot ground beneath them and bellowed. His bellowing sending vibrations through the wyvern that caused it to tremble more violently. The other bearing pressure of the dragon sent fear into the bones of the undead wyvern.

Bredret's claws reached out and clenched the wyverns head in the palm of both his front legs. Squeezing as hard as he could, the dragon's talons sunk into the wyvern.

Its body shook violently as flame shot from its mouth straight up at the dragon. It was a desperate attempt to escape the fate he could sense upon it. Though it was not enough to escape the grasp of a dragon as over bearing as Bredret. Wyverns were always considered inferior to those of the dragon race. Bredret was born of a more pure, ancient, bloodline then a wyvern. They should not be looked down upon, but Bredret felt no fear when facing a single wyvern on its own.

As the body of the wyvern collapsed to the ground beneath him he could only feel a sense of pity. He did not care for low ranked creatures but it had still been something of similar race to his own. Though that was something he would hate to personally admit because he was one who held much pride for his lineage.

Glancing to the side he could see Celeste still hovering by his horn with a look as if she wanted to know if he was alright. The sight of her concern instantly making every other emotion he had been feeling before vanish as if it had left with the wind.

Returning to his human form in the middle of the destruction he had just caused with the wyvern, Bredret felt no concern for what had happened. He knew that the others were chasing after the Undead King, but now that he was back in the capital Bredret was only concerned with one matter.

"They'll be fine on their own. We've done enough for that mutt and prince. It's time for a drink." He muttered to himself as he started walking down the street away from the mess.

It was impossible for most to make Bredret do something unless he was willing. Celeste knew that about Bredret and could only contain her expressions as she remained beside him. She was simply proud that Bredret had found someone he was willing to help to such an extent because it had been a long time since she'd seen him display such emotions.

If I stay here they might make me pay for damages.. He thought to himself as he also glanced around and felt that he could already hear the Cista King's nagging for the damages he caused if they met.

"Hey! You! Human! Where's the closest pub? ... That didn't get melted preferably." He called out to a startled onlooker as he walked down the street. The sky was still raining ash and fire from both of the beasts that had fought.

Bredret's figure was illuminated by the fiery light causing his body to almost shine in a golden glow. It was beautiful; yet terrifying. For someone who had just witnessed what Bredret had done the man could only shudder and point in the first direction he could think of silently.
