(14) Learning Devastating Magic Pt.2/3

*Narrator*

Last Time on Reincarnated as a chocobo with a system: Rio walked towards a mage school to learn a new spell that he can use in battle. But he did not foresee that he would get called out by the new initiates. already his luck seem to be pretty grim. The instructor walked towards Rio with his cane in hand. Wearing a red decorative robe. with his eyes blindfolded by a white cloth.

The instructor asked if he is Rio. Surprised, and a little cautious... Rio stood there in shock...

Only one thing is in his mind...

'How did he know my name!'

*Third person*

Rio stood there in shock, as the Instructor waited patiently for Rio's answer. Meanwhile, off to the side; the Initiates looked at Rio and their instructor, patiently waiting for one of them to initiate a conversation. Rio looked at the instructor uncomfortably.

'Yes my name is Rio, how did you know and how are you able see me?' Rio asked.

Rio looked at the Instructor as he stroke his Van Dyke Beard. Wearing a red decorative robe, and holding a staff in one hand, The Instructor introduces himself.

"My name is Yuki, I am an Master Archmage from the Ethereal council. I came from the capital to instruct the new Initiates on how to effectively cast spells. I have been informed by Kuriki to look for you after I am done with the students. I Also have the ability to feel the spirit of the surrounding area. thus is why I can see you."

'Well then... Yuki... Where is Kuriki?' Rio asked

"Right now she is with Kida, site seeing"

'And why would Kuriki be looking for me?'

Yuki stroke his beard and replied "Well... I think it is best if you go to them"

'And where are they?' Rio questioned further.

"At the adventurers guild"

Rio looked around the campus, seeing students casting spells. and instructors giving out instructions.

Rio looked at Yuki and asked another question 'you said you are a Master Archmage, what is that?'

"An Archmage is a rank to specify the position of the Ethereal council, there are three ranking position. All of which are Archmages in the council; Elder Archmage, Master Archmage, and just ordinary Archmage" Yuki explained.

'And what about the spirit thing you said earlier, how are you able to see without taking off your blindfold'

"Hmm you ask a lot of question but nonetheless... how can I describe this..." Yuki ponders as he walked back and forth in the same place.

A student from the group approached Yuki "Instructor can we go to our dorms for today?"

Yuki turned towards the student direction. The students were all bored out their minds as they are seen kicking the dirt and laying on the ground.

"Of course, all you are dismissed for today"

Cheers erupted as the class left to enjoy their day. Meanwhile Yuki turned to address Rio on what a spirit is.

"Imagine yourself in a endless abyss, and all you see is darkness. Then put a blue outline and a shape forms. what I see Is a silver outline, for you Rio. The colors tells me what type of creature you are. If you are red, you are hostile and can not be reason with. If you are yellow, you are neutral in all aspects. If you are Green, you are passive. Seeing as you are silver in color makes, you very different Rio. I have never encounter such creatures as you. As for regarding about the blindfold... I am permanently blind due to a curse from a demon."

Rio looked at Yuki weirdly, and shook his head. 'okay, well is there a library here that has a bunch of books on spells.'

Yuki thought for a moment "that depends on what book you are searching for."

'Uh okay what type of books do you have regarding spells?' Rio asked

"We have Elemental spells, summoning spells, and necromancy spells which is forbidden to be cast. Elemental books have all the elements that you can learn from beginner to Expert. There are 4 regular elements; Fire, Water, Air, and Earth. Then we have advance elements; Light, Ice, and Darkness. Summoning spells have tiers and I am not an expert in that department. Necromancy spells are forbidden for a reason. Creating an undead carries dire consequences"

Rio looked to the side 'I see, could I look at the elemental books?'

"Of course follow me" Yuki lead Rio inside the school.

*Time skip*

*Rio POV*

Well that was disappointing... all the books were made for the students in that school. At least I learn something new though. apparently Yuki suggest me to visit the capital, as there are more books about the subject. Well I might as well go to the adventurers guild and see what their up to...

I walked towards the entrance to adventurers guild. Now I have a new problem, How can I open this door...

*Crash* What was that!

I turned my head to the noise and saw a big hole on the wall. Seeing as the hole is a decent size I calmly walked through it. As the poor soul who got smash through the wall, I hope that person is okay.

Now I was not expecting this guild. It looks like I just walked into a bar fight. The place was a mess, spilled drinks, glass everywhere, and other breakable objects are littered on the floor. All the adventurers are on the ground groaning. And surprise, surprise. I see Kuriki who is calmly standing crackling her fist. as Kida is siting on a stool with a mug. Kida saw me and wave a hand at me. So I carefully tried not to step on someone as I make my way over.

"Long time no see Rio." Kida said calmly

'Uh... what happen here' I asked

"Oh nothing much" he said as I see Kida took a sip from his mug and gently place it on the bar table.

"Just some adventurer that wanted Kuriki to be on his team"

I tilted my head, more like a bar fight... and why are they wearing such basic armor. Kuriki is wearing leather armor this time and Kida is wearing his basic robe.

'And why are you two wearing low grade equipment's'

"Hmm simple... we are D ranked adventurers"

Seriously that is your cover up.

Looking at Kuriki she looks at me crossed "Where were you?"

Uh what should I say..."I was uh... helping Rasuda?

Kuriki stared at me "Rasuda said that you took off, and once I reached the smith he told me that you already took the armor that I bought for you... And you forgot the saddle."

I stared at Kuriki... Seriously A saddle! I regret coming here... Why is my luck so bad!

"That is enough Kuriki, he is not a pet." Kida commanded

Kuriki huffed "alright"

Kida looked at me "Kuriki told me you wanted to learn more about magic?"

I shuffled a little "Actually I wanted to know more about you personally"

Kuriki looked around for any eavesdroppers "I think it is best if you come with me to my room, And Kuriki... " Kida addressed.

Kuriki looked at Kida questionably "behave" Kida said.

Kuriki waved her hands as she crossed her arms "yea, yea, just go."

Kida got up and went towards the stairs as I follow pursuit.

Kida lead me to his room where I enter to see a normal looking room... normal as in, there is a bed and a drawer that has a crystal type lamp on top of it. Kida closed the door behind him As I watched him sit on the bed.

"So what do you want to know?" Kida asked me , as I ponder of what questions I should ask first....
