Chapter 3: You looked too cute just now~

Luluka decided to test things out. 

She walked out of her room and sure enough, Ruby was there, cleaning the corridor. Luluka walked up to her.

"Hello again, Ruby."

Ruby turned around and was slightly surprised to see her mistress.

"M'lady, what's the matter? Why don't you get some more rest?"

Luluka smiled at Ruby, "Geez. You're such a worry-wart, Ruby. I'm okay." 

Luluka giggled at her worried maid. Ruby didn't seem convinced, as a worried expression was still on her face.

"Umm… Do you need something, m'lady?" 

Hearing this, Luluka's smile grew wider. "I want to ask you a question."

"Okay… Ask away."

"What animal or insect do you hate the most?"

Ruby was confused upon hearing this question. "Umm… Why do you ask me that, m'lady? Do you want to pull a prank on me or something?"

Ruby said as she recalled the past memories. In the past, Luluka had pulled a lot of pranks on her just for fun. 

Of course, Ruby didn't mind that as she was very close to Luluka. She also pulled a couple of pranks on her when they were alone.

She knew that she shouldn't do such a thing to her mistress as it would be inappropriate, but she couldn't help it. Her mistress looked so damn cute when she pouted at her! 

A gentle smile appeared on Ruby's face as she recalled the pleasant memories.

Luluka saw this and a teasing smile crept on her face, "What's with that smile of yours? It looks so creepy… fufufu~" Luluka said playfully.

"Geez, stop teasing me, m'lady," she giggled. "As to answer your question, I have to say cockroach, m'lady."

Hearing that, Luluka bursted out laughing. "Hahaha! Go figure. Such a cliché answer."

Seeing her mistress teasing her again, Ruby could only sighed and giggled. They both continue to laugh for a while.

"Okay then, let me ask you this next. What if one day, I suddenly turn into a cockroach? What are you gonna do about it?"

Luluka knew this was such a silly question, but still wanted to know the answer so she could decide whether to trust Ruby with her secret or not.

She knew she had promised her father not to tell anyone about this, but she felt like if it was someone she could trust, then she should be able to share her secret with.

Despite being asked such a silly question, Ruby didn't think too much about it and looked at her mistress gently.

"Well, if you were to become a cockroach, m'lady, then I'm sure you'd be the most beautiful cockroach in the world!"

Ruby said with great conviction. Her voice rang out loudly in the corridor.

A few second of silence past, and then—

"Pfffff! Hahahah!!" Luluka couldn't help but laugh out loud again. Her maid was such a jokester!

Seeing her mistress laughing out loud, Ruby began to feel embarrassed. Her face reddened as she covered it with her hands.

She had said such embarrassing things out loud, not only that, she had said it with such great conviction! She felt like digging a hole in the ground and hiding in there for the rest of her life!

Luluka continued to laugh for a while. Once her laughter subsided, she saw the state her maid was in and began giggling again.

"Fufufu, sorry sorry~" Luluka said as she wiped a tear in the corner of her eyes.

"Sorry Ruby, I can't help it. Fufufu~" Luluka placed her hand on Ruby's shoulder.

Ruby slowly put her hands away from her face. Still blushing, she slowly looked at her mistress.

But then— *Chu* 

Ruby could feel a moisture and a soft touch on her left cheek. Her mistress had kissed her on the cheek!

Realizing this, Ruby's face reddened again as she blushed furiously! 

"Sorry Ruby, I couldn't help myself. You looked too cute just now~"

Luluka said in a seductive voice with a mischievous smile on her face. 

Was she a succubus?! Ruby began to wonder as she tried her hardest to calm her racing heart down.

Seeing Ruby's reaction, Luluka felt like kissing her again but she held herself back. She giggled and said, "Now Ruby, that wasn't the answer I was expecting. What I want to know is, what would you do if I suddenly turned into a cockroach you hate so much?"

Seeing a sincere expression on Luluka's face, Ruby began to think seriously. What if her mistress suddenly turned into a cockroach…?

After thinking for a while, she finally got an answer and was about to tell them to her mistress, but—

"M'lady!" A woman voice interrupted Ruby's answer.

Luluka turned around and saw Vivian approaching her. "What's the matter, Vivian?"

"The lord has returned, m'lady. He asked you to go meet him at his study."

'Father has returned?'

An image of Marquess Arthur flashed in Luluka's mind. Although She had the previous owner's memories, she still hadn't seen her father for real.

So technically, this was going to be her first time meeting her father…

"Alright, I'll go meet him right away."

Saying that, Luluka walked off as the maids bowed behind her. She walked to her father's study and knocked on the door.

*knock knock knock*

"Come in," a deep manly voice rang out behind the door. 

Luluka pushed the door open and walked in. 

Inside was a cozy-looking room filled with books and documents. A big luxurious desk situated in the center of the room, and sure enough, the familiar, yet unfamiliar figure was sitting behind that desk. 

Arthur von Colbert.

Luluka's father, who had the same name as her old name. She still felt a little weird about it but she'd managed.

Seeing his daughter's lively face after a long time, Arthur couldn't help but shed a few tears as he hurriedly left his desk and walked up to Luluka with open arms.

Luluka didn't hesitate as she dived into her father's embrace. Warmth enveloped her as she laid comfortably on her father's chest.

"I'm so glad you finally woke up," Arthur said in an emotional voice. "I was so scared that I'd never be able to see you again."

Luluka smiled gently in her father's embrace. "Don't go jinx me around, dad."

Hearing that, Arthur chuckled, "It seems that you've already regained your energy, huh? As expected of my daughter."

They embraced each other for a long time. After an unknown period of time, Arthur let go of his embrace.

"You must be hungry after such a long time. Let's go eat something," said Arthur.

Luluka nodded her head, but then she realized something! 

She looked at her father in the eyes and said in a childish tone, "Father… Can I go out and hunt some monsters?"

Hearing that, Arthur's eyes went wide!

"Wh-What?"
