18 The king is weird ( 2 )

Shou decided to tell Mei Shu before the king do something. He went to find Mei Shu in the castle. But Mei Shu was nowhere to be seen inside the castle. Therefore, he went outside and looked for her in the loyal garden, flowers field and so on. He couldn't find her anywhere until he arrived at the training area. Mei Shu was practicing sword. Normal people would only see Mei Shu practicing a sword but it was different for Shou. In his eyes, even though Mei Shu was soaked in sweat, she was still beautiful and adorable. He wanted the time to stop so that he could see her like this forever. But now, the king is important. So he had no choice but to talk to Mei Shu. Shou went near Mei Shu and called out her name quietly. Mei Shu flinched because of his sudden approach and she sliped and fell down, including her sword. Shou was worried and quickly gave Mei Shu a hand and helped her. He apologized to her but Mei Shu didn't mind.

Shou said in a sorrowful voice, " Sorry, you were practicing so I didn't want to disturb but I think this is a bit urgent. So I wanted to tell you."

Mei Shu was curious to know as she knew that Shou isn't the type to talk with someone without an important topic. So she asked what he wanted to talk.

Shou didn't even sit down and told Mei Shu about her father, the king without any hesitation and everything about his opinions. Mei Shu didn't blame Shou for talking about her father behind his back. She is a fair person. So instead of getting mad and being panic, she told Shou that she will confirm about that herself and went to look for her father. But she couldn't find him so she asked a servant about her father's whereabouts. The servant answered that he went to the battlefield with Mei Yan.

Mei Shu went back to Shou with confusion. She loves her father very much and he always told and discussed about everything he did with her. But this time he left without telling her so she thought that what Shou said was true or is there anything that he doesn't want her to know. She was walking but her mind was somewhere else. Her tears fell down by itself. When she saw Shou, he was playing with a cat. She didn't want him to be worried so she wiped her tears and put on a fake smile on her face. She called out his name.

Shou asked Mei Shu, " So soon? What did you guys talk about? "

Mei shook her head slightly and said with a light smile , " He is currently at the battlefield with my sister. I really don't know what to do. And I don't know if you said is true or not. However, I am just afraid something happened. He is important to me and .. all of us, my mother and my sister.. and for the citizens too.

Shou knew that she wasn't okay although she was putting a smile forcefully.

He said to Mei Shu with a smile while putting his hand and patting her head ; " Aren't you brave, strong and intelligent usually? Why are you behaving like this today? Don't worry your father will be okay. And well you know what.. the ones who did this are dumb actually. They can't think about the consequences like intelligent people. " , Shou slightly chuckled.

Mei Shu pouted and said in a cute voice , " hmph I thought you were comforting me but you are actually making fun of me. "

In Shou's eyes, Mei Shu's face was not only childish but also cute. He couldn't hold himself back and laughed.

" You really are cute and adorable" , without knowing himself, those words came out of Shou's mouth.

He later realized what he just said and he was really embrassed that his ears became purple.

Mei Shu also didn't know what to say and was silent for a moment.

The surrounding was quite awkward.

For them, even the air became awkward and they couldn't hear anything or see anything. Everything was silent for both of them.

The two of them was stunned by that.

But it was only till Shou opened his mouth and said something shameful again.

He said, " T...that was not from me. It was from my.. ...my mouth."

This time, Mei Shu couldn't hold back and laughed loudly.

She laughed so hard that her stomach started to ache. She knelt down on the ground because of the pain but she couldn't stop laughing.

And Shou was smiling while watching her laughing that hard. He never saw her laughing that freely. As a Princess, she always maintained her balance and appearance.

However, they both wished that the time will stop and they could stay like this forever, from the deepest of their hearts.

Shou's face turned sad as soon as he again realized that they can't waste time anymore. He lifted up Mei Shu who was still on the ground laughing and said, " Alright. Stop. We should go to your father now. "

Mei Shu suddenly realized it and quickly got up. They went back to the castle in a rush and got a horse for each. They set off immediately and rushed to the battlefield.

" Father, please be safe. I will search for you if you aren't the one who is currently at the battlefield and I will help if you are facing any difficulties.", Mei Shu wished.

" I just hope everything will be okay. I.. don't want her to be worried." , they were Shou's wishes and hopes.

After riding for half a day, they two became near and near to the battlefield. After an hour, they entered the battlefield area. As it's a battlefield, there was nothing in theri surrounding. They couldn't see the end of the place. It was endless. The weather became hot. The sun was setting down. The more they got close to the place of their army, Mei Shu got more worried . She felt uneasy.

Her mind again filled with lots of thoughts and worries. But she waa disturbed by a sound of horse neighing.
