15 Mei Shu's thoughts and feelings

Mei Shu walked around and around searching for the boy. The sun was setting down but she still couldn't find the person. She decided to go to the forest and look for him. The sky became dark but not because of the sunset, the dark clouds filled the whole sky. And the drops of rain started to fall just after a second. Mei Shu didn't have any shelter and she continued to go to the forest. In the forest, everything was dark, and just as after Mei Shu got into the forest, the rain became heavier and Mei Shu got herself all wet. She didn't give up on searching for the boy because of her words made with the little girl but also because he was one of her citizens.

She got into the middle of the forest minutes after minutes. A lightning stroke, as well as thunder and the whole sky, was bright for a second. With the light that only lasted for a second, Mei Shu saw a person, leaning on a tree. Although it was only a second, she could see that the person wasn't okay at all. She couldn't see his face as his face was reflected by the light. She quickly ran to him and looked at him carefully. Mei Shu was shocked once she saw the boy's face. She called " Shou " without even noticing herself. The boy was Shou. He was unconscious and there were injuries on his body, bleeding.

Mei Shu unknowingly got worried and she took off his clothes. Shou also had injuries on his stomach and they were likely bruises that were caused by getting kicked. She called out his name many times to wake him up. But there was no response. She didn't have any time to be worried anymore because Shou's breaths became slower and she can hear his breathing because he couldn't breathe freely but was breathing difficultly. She put on his clothes again and lifted him and carried him on her back.

She carried him back to the castle in heavy rain. Her legs were numb that she couldn't bear the pain anymore. But she kept walking until she arrived at the castle. At the gate of the castle, the guards stopped her as they didn't recognize her and it was raining so they couldn't see her face. Mei Shu showed them her token. As soon as they saw the token, they quickly opened the gate and let them in.

When Mei Shu arrived in the castle, her closest servant came hurriedly to her and asked, " Your Highness, what happened? And this is ..", she thought for a second and said, " Isn't it that boy you brought last time? How did you two end up in this state? ".

Mei Shu quietly answered in a low voice, " Don't talk anymore. Take him to his bedroom. I will call the doctor so take care of him before I come back."

The servant answered, " But your highness, you look tired. Take a rest. I will go call the doctor after I take him to the bedroom. "

Mei Shu sighed and said again, " Just go. I don't wanna talk anymore."

The maid nodded and she took Shou to his bedroom.

Mei Shu also went to the doctor and called him to Shou's bedroom.

After the doctor arrived, he tested Shou's meridians and he shook his head.

Mei Shu was shocked and upset.

She pushed the doctor away from Shou and tested his meridians by herself.

She said to the doctor in a trembling voice, " Give me a medical kit. I will treat him myself. "

The doctor quickly responded and said, " Your highness, you are a Princess. You can't- ", before the doctor finished his line, Mei Shu had already brought the kit and she took off Shou's clothes to treat his wounds.

The doctor went out of the room as he couldn't stop Mei Shu at all. Mei Shu first added some medicine to Shou's wounds and then she bandaged them.

The wounds stopped bleeding but Shou was still in a coma. However, his life was saved and his breathing became normal again.

Mei Shu could finally make a sigh of relief. She didn't put Shou his clothes on because the wounds hadn't healed fully.

Just after she finished treating him and was just about to sit, her maid, who went out earlier because of some work, came in and said, " Your highness, Your Majesty is looking for you. He said he had something to discuss."

Mei Shu nodded and she asked the maid to take care of Shou while she was gone. Then, she went to her father's bedroom.

When she arrived, her father was having dinner alone. So she asked, " Where's the mother? Why are you eating alone, father?"

The king wiped his mouth, made eye contact with Mei Shu, and answered, " where were you this evening?"

Mei Shu opened her mouth to answer but she was hesitant to tell because she knew that her father would be angry if she told him that she went to search for a regular person by herself and also carried him to the castle and even treated his wounds.

Mei Shu was hesitant to say but the king has already known it. The king drank a cup of boiled water and he said," Mei'er, I know you care about that boy but don't forget you are a Princess. We, royalties, can't love anyone easily. We can't decide our future by ourselves because we have duties we must fulfill before we die. Our fate will depend on our kingdom and citizens' future. All we must do is for the sake of the citizens and kingdom. Don't go fall for some random person. Control your feelings. That's all I want to say. And about your mother, she went back to her family for a few months. It will be the best for her to avoid politics affairs."

Although the king was saying and reminding her not to fall in love, no words from him came into Mei Shu's mind. Her mind was somewhere else, worrying about Shou. She stopped thinking for a while and asked the king," Father, then I have a question. What about mother and you? Did you two get married because you had a contract or because of the kingdom and citizens? And then you two fell in love and had children? "

The king was quite surprised and shocked to hear this from Mei Shu, who was always obedient and listened to everything he said and ordered. He didn't expect her to talk back because of a boy, who had no background.
