Chapter 1: Who?

Li Jiefan knew her end was coming. After three rough years of surviving the end of the world this is how she dies. Li Jiefan's chuckle turned into rough coughs that raked through her body, blood splattered onto the ground next to her. This situation would be funny if it wasn't so sad, betrayed by a member on her team left for dead in an abandoned bank surrounded by ravenous zombies breaking down the door to tear her apart. Li Jiefan pushesd herself up the wall, clutching her bleeding side and pointed her gun at the bank doors, weathered, it's rusted hinges barely able to hold the horde shrieking just outside the door. 

The door finally gave out to the hungry zombie horde and Li Jiefan clenched her jaw preparing herself for her inevatable death while she readjusted her grip on the gun, she will die here but that didn't mean she would make it easy for these flesh eaters. The zombie horde rushed toward her as she braced herself for her last battle, but out of nowhere they stopped.

The zombies had stopped mid-run, as though they where frozen by an ice-ability user but there was no ice. Li Jiefan looked surprised but stayed on guard. She thought of who- or what could cause this, she racked her mind while looking around for anyone else in the bank trying to think if she ever heard about anyone with an ability that was capable of this. Before she could come to any concrete conclusion a glowing blue ball appeared in front of. " Would you like another chance?", it asked.

Li Jiefan looked confused and askes it," Another chance at what, at being eaten alive".

A laugh came from the ball and it replied, " No silly, another chance at life," the voice sobered up and continued," one were you can get your revenge."

Li Jiefan felt herself get dizzy, bloodloss was quickly getting the better of her but she tried to stay focused, "What's the catch." Li Jiefan was not dumb enough to believe that this oppurtunity, if it was evem real, was free.

"Smart. The catch is you will live until this point unless you find and kill the person who betrayed you," the voice continued, " you will be brought back a week before the begining of the apocalypse with knowledge of the future. Oh and if I was you I would make my decision fast, you are bleeding out and don't have very long to live."

Li Jiefan tried to think through her options but her mind was fuzzy due to the bloodloss and she could feel her consciousness slip away. She wanted revenge or to at least know who would do this to her. She had trusted her team, they were her family, for someone in her team to betray her like this was unthinkable and unforgivable.

The voice disrupted her train of thought," Tick , tock "

Well, what fate could be worse than this, if she could survived the end of the world she could survive anything.

Li Jiefan looked at the blue sphere, " fine, I agree."

The voice happily agreed," Great, Don't dissapoint us."

As Li Jiefan felt a mysterious force pulling her out her body as her vision began to cloud she realised she forgot to ask a crucial question, " Wait! Whats your name?"

The mysterious vioce laughed and replied," Call me Clover."

Lie Jiefan woke up with a startle in the dark. She had a blazing headache and before she could get a bearing on her surroundings she heard the sound of a person shuffling to the left of her. Lie Jiefan instantly shot up, years of sleeping with one eye open in the world of the after ingrained into her. She franticully looked around her and through the pain in her temple and the curtain of darkness she saw her univeristy dorm and her three other roomates sound asleep in their respective beds. The memories of the past few hours flooded her. The betryal, the knife in her side, the bank and finally her mind landed on the blue orb and the deal she made. Was what the orb saying true, was Lie Jiefan in the past before the devasting days of the apocalypse.

She tried to remeber exactly where she was before she remebered Clover telling her she would be brought back a week before the beginning of the apocalypse, which means she was still in university. In university she was an Agriculture student who was only able to attend due to her scholarships. Li Jiefan's day would look like this; wake very early in the morning to study at the library, go to class and then study late into the night. Her life had revolved around studying so she didn't have much of a social life.

Li Jiefan got up, took a painkiller out of her desk and went to the bathroom to look herself over and soothe her headache.

She staggered into the bathroom and flinched as she flicked on the lights, gulping down a cup of water and two painkillers and she held her eyes closed for a minute. Li Jiefan took a deep breath before she opened her eyes and looked at herself in the mirror, her eyes widened at the person she saw infront of her. Li Jiefans face was fuller and she didn't have the scar just above her eyebrow that she got escaping the University at the beginning of the apocalypse. The girl infront of her had not faced the horrors of the after. 

Li Jiefan started to undress and prepared for a shower, it had been years since she could have a shower or clean herself in general with scented soaps, unlimited hot water and without keeping on guard continuously. Looking herself over before she got in the shower her eyes landed on the mark on the right side of her ribs. It was light enough to be a birthmark but she could make it out, it was a clover dashing any miniscule hope that the events of the after was some vivid dream.

Li Jiefan sighed and went to enjoy her shower, after surviving in the apocolypse for three years she just wanted a minute to relax before she had to start surviving once again.
