1 What was forgotten

SMACK!

A cold hand struck my face red.

"She's breathing! Quick! She's losing so much blood. Hurry! Take her to Wika!" a woman said.

Crimson frost and burning tears blurred my vision as they carried me off to who knows where.

The cold enveloped me in darkness as I walked towards a bright light. Under the frosted willow, sat a woman dressed in a plain purple yam colored dress.

"Sena, there you are," the woman smiled," You must remember this no matter what," a gentle voice told me," You must stay by your blade's side for your blade will lead you back to him. In the year of the Sea Serpant, becareful."

The image grew farther away from me as I continued to persist the snowy path.

"Wait! Mom! Wait! I I don't get it! What do you mean?!" I cried out.

I woke up in an unfamiliar dark room. Tears rolled down my cheek as I looked around. The moon dimly lit upon the boy who slept next to me. A desk held a dish of water with a rag and a pitcher sat next to it.

Was he taking care of me..? I felt his hand squeeze mine a bit. Was he..holding my hand all this time?

"It'll be okay," he comforted me.

I continued to cry and laid back down next to him. The nightmare is over, but it never ended.

The boy reached behind him and handed me a cloth from the desk. He stroke my head until I fell back asleep.

Bright rays burned my eyes and the morning cooing of a peasant rang in my ears.

When I finally opened my eyes, the giant feathered beast was actually cooing into my ears.

When it noticed my eyes were open, it rose its beak in the air and shrilled louder and louder, hopping on the bed for me to leave the comforting sheets.

"Okay, okay! I'm up! Please stop!" as soon I left the bed, it hopped off and gestured its beak for me to leave the room. I just stared at it.

"You crazy bird..." I said out loud.

Its small shrill grew louder as it head butted my back towards the exit, throwing my balance off as I fell onto the floor.

"Ugh! You crazy bird!" I stared at it menacingly.

"Breakfast is ready," said the voice infront of me.

It was the boy who slept next to me last night.

He watched me cry with tears and snot. How embarassing! But even though it would've made me feel uncomfortable. I wasn't. Being with him made me feel safe and reassured that I wasn't alone, just slightly embarrassed.

"I sent Diya to get you. You hadn't appeared so I decided to check on you guys," the boy said.

The bird and I followed the boy from behind. As we walked through the halls, I noticed the bird was staring at me.

It slowly walked backwards ahead of me and continued to meet my gaze.

"What, what are you looking at?" I scoffed at the bird. Its beak slightly parted and spat out its lazy pink tongue at me.

The nerve of this bird!

It raised and waved its tufted feathers from behind then let out a creepy half shrill, half monotone," Heh, heh, heh."

"You know what, even if you're some lavishly gorgeous bird, I'll gladly frypan you," I said.
