8 VIII: Human Instincts and Domain.

"Do you know the instincts that are ingrained in human beings and the limits associated with them? And do you know that your senses can grow into an absolute domain where you can react almost instantaneously?" the old man asked these two questions again, making Seone pay much more attention, knowing that they would soon tell him something important to determine his survival and future path.

"With the rise of mankind's prosperity, mankind itself has lost certain instincts, no, losing is the wrong word, rather letting go. These instincts clash with the typical rationality we have adopted as a society.

Before, if you were hungry and someone had a fruit, you would just hit them, if they were weaker than you, you would snatch the fruit for your enjoyment, if you were the weaker one, you would be beaten and probably killed," the man made silence, took a drink and made a short silence as if he was meditating on the words he was going to say.

"There are instincts that surface in certain circumstances, but they are just memories of the old instincts, the real ones are locked deep inside us and don't come out. Even if someone has little access to those instincts, he will be dominated by them because of a lack of will. That is why there are rapists and murderers, especially the latter.

Those who kill just for fun, or those who abuse others just for fun, are just sad people who have somehow awakened certain human instincts and become consumed by them.

Instincts are not bad, what is bad is to have a weak mind, so always try to strengthen your mind. As I said, each instinct has a limit associated with it, and there are 8 of them.

Fighting instinct is related to the limit of strength that the body can exert.

Flight instinct is related to the amount of adrenaline our body can support.

Survival instinct is related to the resistance and healing of the human body.

Feral instinct is related to the limits of the human senses.

Perception instinct, which causes pareidolia, is related to the limits of the sixth sense.

The killer instinct is related to the limit of consciousness.

Perpetuation instinct is related to the limit of metabolism and sexuality.

Knowledge instinct is related to what the human mind can store, process, and understand.

And then there is the last instinct, which is not an instinct as such, but it is a state of body and consciousness in which you can access all eight instincts simultaneously. My son, when you reach this point, you will know why this path is called the warrior's path and why this instinct is called .....

Extreme Instinct.

...

Seone lay on his bed and looked at the ceiling of his room because of all the information he had received today, only the instincts part, and his explanation was very strange, disturbing but very important. It made him realize that this path would be challenging, but those words?

Extreme Instinct is a state where your physical being would turn into a full-fledged supernatural being. By supernatural, I don't mean having special abilities, magic, or anything like that, no, I mean stepping outside the natural order of humanity and simply transcending it. Breaking mountains with one punch is not supernatural, but your body being in harmony with its basic instincts and not losing itself, constantly swimming in them, is.

This made Seone think of a being, a human being, who would be a truly supernatural human being, basically the ultimate representation of what an extreme can do CASUALLY, in capital letters, to understand us.

He thought of Yujiro Hanma. The perfect representation, for him, that man was no longer human for his 'bloodline' to be so powerful to give birth to two monsters like Baki or Jack meant that he was no longer human, he was something else, something greater.

"Damn it, I may not shatter planets, slice a moon with a slash, or reduce space to nothingness with a single blow, but... I will be powerful, and I doubt I can be defeated. If I survive... and I can be reborn in this world, though weak, it will give me the final touch I need, the platform to become truly powerful," Seone mused softly as if he wanted to hear this idea in his voice to emphasize it in his mind.

Furthermore, his father's talk didn't stop there, he told him about the senses, and although they were related to the wild instinct and the instinct of perception, they could be carried far without them, both instincts being rather an integrated enhancement of the existing base.

Human beings have many ways of perceiving things around them, both inside and outside. And even the ability to know if we are hot or cold in a sense itself. When all the senses are trained and condensed as a whole, they are categorically called the five common senses.

Then there's the sixth sense, a metaphysical sense, the extrasensory capacity of humanity, like feeling that we're being watched, or sensing someone's mood, or knowing that that bitch is crazy and you shouldn't go in there... well, I'm getting ahead of myself, but those "magical" things we feel are part of the sixth sense.

When fully trained and fused with the basic senses, they can create an area around a person called a Domain. A Domain is where you can know EVERYTHING around you, even, at very high levels, know when a disease will occur in someone if they are within your Domain, even years before that disease occurs.

Yes, the thing about dogs smelling cancer, is that in humans, and perhaps months or years before such a thing occurs. And it's not a magical realm or anything like that, it's your entire ability to perceive the world being pushed to the limit and beyond. Even with the necessary knowledge, you can best interpret what you feel, so a blacksmith hammering metal can even "feel" the atoms of that metal and how to pound them together to get what he wants. That's how broken it is, and it's super difficult to do instead of going to extreme instinct.

Even a rudimentary mastery is a very difficult thing to achieve. These domains are also not very big, they can only reach up to three meters, but when I tell you that even at that short distance you can do ridiculous things like cutting ghosts with a plastic knife, you know that three meters is a lot.

Seone then held up a piece of paper with everything he had learned and would learn written on it:

Spin: The basics, in the hope of achieving infinite spin.

Sword Techniques: The maximum humans can achieve, cutting bullets when fired at would be possible with a lot of concentration.

Path of the fighter: Only information about each instinct, its limits, and how to train to reach them.

Mastery: How to train the senses and integrate them into a domain, as well as how to improve what you can feel and do in that domain.

Vitality: How to train vitality, supplemented with information on the fighter's path and domain.

Plans for the future: Reincarnating in this world, and with enough points, gaining the ultimate skill and unlocking the path to power.

This skill was necessary, it was even related to the previous one, and although it was basic and even had disadvantages, he had summarized with the previous one that if he did well, he could survive the following Battle Royales, as well as not die because some powerful being in some universe he was thrown into decided to kill him.

So determined, he put the paper away, making a note to destroy it tomorrow when he woke up, but for now, he would just meditate. He needed no strange poses, no gestures, no breathing, just... feeling.

He felt his whole body, how tense his muscles were, how tired his mind was, the blood flowing through his veins, but he just dedicated himself to feeling it, to experiencing it, soon he felt it, the vitality in his body, it was like a little naughty snake, thin and small, moving all over his body randomly.

One interesting aspect of meditation is that he could shape the things he saw, so the aspect of his life force was a black snake with red eyes that wandered foolishly through his being. Wherever it went, it would leave a trail, like a snail, but it would be small points of light that were integrated into his body.

"So that's why I can't sleep much now..." he only needed 6 hours of sleep and he was perfectly fine, with no repercussions like yawning, lethargy, or pain in his body, just fresh as lettuce.

Vitality was not like the energies described in some cultivation novel, where he had to absorb the aura of Heaven and Earth, clean his channels, and so on. No, chi, or vitality, was a very... free energy. It belongs to the person, it is generated by the person, it grows with the person, it weakens, it gets sick, and it can even die.

Vitality has preferred "paths" along which it travels, depending on a person's habits. But since Seone has been slowly upgrading his entire being with pure spin energy, his vitality's journey through his body is random but strangely complete. He could even see this snake going into his other snake if you know what I mean.

Therefore, people who block chi by attacking specific points on the body may not be able to completely disable its ability unless they hit it all over the body, there will always be chi flowing freely through their being.

To meditate then is to correct the trajectory of your vital energy so that it makes its journey to the desired areas in the shortest possible time, generally, meditation does not take long, only two hours, but that depends on the person's training method. A swordsman would concentrate on his arms, a thief on his fingers and legs, but he... on his whole body. When he felt the sunlight piercing his closed eyes, he realized that it was already morning.

As he stood up, he noticed that his skin... looked less tanned, though he still had that characteristic wheat color, his skin looked less sunburned and much healthier. His hair felt great, and even those pimples that even a maximum human couldn't get rid of were gone.

This was just a side issue, some things would come back after a while, if he wanted to have a fundamental change, he would have to meditate for years, maybe that's why those cultivators are described as incredible beauties in novels, and all the protagonists are the epitome of beauty after being described as "ordinary" at first.

"Son, I told you not to masturbate last night! It's almost time for your first execution, so GET UP!" his father yelled from behind the door, making Seone feel warm, but he had to take it back.

"At least I get a hard-on, old man, NOT LIKE YOU!" shouted Seone as he got ready.

Today he would get a normal source of points, and while that might draw enemies to him, he knew that a certain blonde, who looked much more attractive now, would be there to protect him, that and his group, whom he had trained and fraternized with, giving him names and not just "the guy with the glasses" or some similar nickname.

"My first execution... fuck, she's an elf milf," Seone said, looking at the incredible beauty who was about to receive his sword, and not in a pleasant way.
