She was just listening to their conversation and answered when they asked her. She don't know how to join them anyway. In fact, she's still not comfortable. Dustin always tends to her, like always putting juice in her glass when it's empty or keeps on asking her if the food is okay. In fact the food is delicious.

"Do you want some more rice?" Dustin asked her again when she finished her plate.

"Is it okay? The kare-kare is so delicious." She shyly said because she's really in love with the food. One of her comfort thing is food but she can't eat everything. Only those she likes and one of her favorite is Kare-kare. She's picky when it comes to that dish but she totally love the one they served now.

"Why, thank you." Mrs. Ferdinand said happily.

"She's the one who cooked the kare-kare." Dustin informed her while putting a rice on her plate.

"L-let me." She stopped him but Dustin just look at her with warn so she let his hands go. "T-thanks."

"I like how Dustin took care of his girlfriend, right mama?" Mrs. Ferdinand said to the old lady.

"I wish they are really together, Helen. You know how I always pushed him to find a girl. But my grandson is a loser when it comes to getting his girl."

"Why, are they still not together?" Mrs. Ferdinand asked with a knot on her forehead. They were talking like their topic is not with them.

"I don't know yet." The old lady answered.

"Mamay, auntie, please, don't make Selena feel more awkward." Dustin interrupted them.

"Oh, sorry, hija." Mrs. Ferdinand just said with a coy smile. "Dustin never brought a girl to introduce us even thought we were always bugging him to. But she brought you here, so I thought you both are already in a relationship."

"It's okay." She just said but actually that made her lose her appetite.

The lunch was somewhat kind of awkward after that. But the two women still tried to be accommodating to her. After a few minutes of resting they bid goodbye because they still needed to go back to the company.

"I'm sorry about that. Auntie and Mamay were just excited to meet the girl I'm interested with." Dustin started their conversation when they went out of the subdivision.

She didn't say anything but just staring at the windshield. At first, she felt happy that she was the first woman Dustin introduce to them, but when she remember how the two of them met, she felt uneasy. She felt so little of herself. That scares her. On what they might possible think of her when they found out about it.

"Are you okay?" Dustin asked concerned.

She let go of a sigh. She turned at Dustin confused when he suddenly park the car beside the road.

"What's wrong? Are you not feeling well?" Dustin asked again full of concern on his face. Oh how can she refuse this kind of guy now?

"I'm fine." She lied.

"You don't look fine. What's wrong?"

She collected all her confident and faced him. "Look Dustin, I know it's not your intention to surprised me or to make me uneasy, but why didn't you tell me that we're going to have lunch with your family now? At least give me head up."

"I told you about it the last time."

"Yes, but you didn't tell me that it was today."

"I'm sorry, okay? I just wanted us to have lunch with them."

She put all her might not to back down. Might as well stop what they have before it gets worst in the future.

"I'm sorry, babe. Next time I will inform you in advance, okay?" He cotniued and tried to caress her face but she stop him that made him confused.

"There will be no next time, Dustin. I don't even know why I have to meet your family in the first place."

"I just wanted to show you how serious I am with you. I want to make things right between us. I know we didn't have the chance to talk about us but---."

"Us? There's no 'us', Dustin." She raised her voiced. "We're just working in one project together. Just workmate."

"What? Selena, look." Dustin faced her but still in his calm self. "I know you also feel the connection between us. You can't deny that. Why not give us a chance? Let me do the right thing and court you."

That's one more thing he likes about the guy. Every time she tried to argue with him and raised his voice, he's always calm and didn't tried to fight back or even raised his voice on him. She thought it's because the other employees were there with them, but it's just the two of them now. But no... It's not right to stick with him.

"The right thing for you to do is to stop bugging me and let me go, Dustin. We don't have anything between us except for working together in a project. So please just do your work." Then she went out of the car and rode the empty tricycle she saw.

Selene knew she's a fool to let go of someone like Dustin but she don't want to be judge again. She doesn't want people to talk about her. What if they knew about how they met? They'll say she's a slut and seduced him. She's not used to people talking about her, which is the main reason why she wanted to be alone and keep her life on low profile.

What if his family found out about it? Selena is sure they don't want her to be with their son or grandson too. Because no normal girl just pull some guy and had sex with them for no reason. So as much as she can still escape from that situation, she better do now. It her only way to save her dignity.
