"Hair. Okay! Face. Okay! Clothes also okay! Everything is perfect!" Aimee said with some hope that today's meeting would be as smooth and perfect as her appearance.
Aimee then didn't forget to take her round glasses. Just put on the glasses and went to breakfast.
A bell suddenly sounded.
It was only about 7 o'clock. Someone had been looking for her?
Walked towards the door. Aimee opened the door after peeking through the gap.
"Boris? Why are you looking for me so early in the morning?" muttered Aimee in a calm tone of voice.
Moved to the side to open the door, then greeted the guest as well as the neighbour.
"Hey Borris! Do you need anything this early?" Aimee asked with a friendly face.
Got to know Borris as a single parent.
Borris Hutapea was a very kind and friendly neighbor. Divorced from his wife about 2 years ago. Borris brought his cute daughter to live with him.
Had been good neighbors since a year ago. It wasn't strange or inconvenient if Borris often asked Aimee for help.
The innocent and polite man looked doubtful.
"Did I interrupt your morning activities?" asked Borris, giving a shy smile.
Aimee shook her head.
"Not a problem. And I'm always welcome to you. Then what business are you looking for this morning?"
Lowering her gaze, Aimee greeted the petite girl in front of her.
"Hey, Sasha! Nice to see you this morning and are you going to school?"
The little girl with big eyes and slightly puffy cheeks smiled cheerfully.
"Yes, Auntie. Sasha was just about to go to school. But, dad seems to have urgent business. So that..."
Glancing at her father to follow the code from her to continue the sentence. Aimee actually became a sensitive person to the hard code from her.
"You need me to take your little daughter to school?" Aimee asked right on target.
Still looking shy and difficult to ask for help. Borris couldn't help but admit it.
"Sorry if that really weighed on you. But I have no other choice because this client of mine is a bit fussy. Wanted me to go straight to them this morning and help with their divorce process as quickly as possible. I can't do much," said Borris.
Aimee gave an ironic look.
Worked as a divorce attorney. Borris could not avoid the fate of his divorce from his ex-wife. Divorced because both of them have not found a match. And his stubborn wife was more concerned with freedom than taking care of their little daughter.
Borris sometimes struggled to match his time with Salsha. But lucky because Salsha was a smart and independent child.
"What a coincidence, I was getting ready and about to leave!"
Borris suddenly refuted Aimee.
"Do you also have important business this morning, so you need to leave early?" Borris asked, increasingly reluctant.
He also added, "In that case, I will take care of Salsha. You just do what you want to do."
Aimee stopped Borris.
"It's not like that, I mean. I just happened to want to leave for work early. But, if you want Salsha to come with me. I couldn't have objected since our routes are the same way."
And because that was also one of the important reasons why Aimee was often asked by Borris for help to escort Salsha.
Borris' cheerful smile widened.
Only one year age gap from Aimee. Borris always treated Aimee with courtesy. Didn't want to offend or bother her. Aimee always considered this attitude of Borris as one of the attitudes she rarely found in many men.
However, this overly polite attitude made them sometimes misunderstand like before.
"I owe you a lot!" said Borris seriously.
Salsha looked cheerful, "Hurray! I'm leaving with auntie!" She shouted.
Felt happy and excited. Borris crouched briefly in front of his daughter.
"Remember not to trouble Aunt Aimee any more. So be a good and obedient child. Daddy's going now. And at noon will pick you up again."
Sasha nodded excitedly.
"Yes, Dad. Be careful on the road, good work, and see you later this afternoon!" said Sasha.
Slightly smiled when she heard Salsha's adorable farewell.
Aimee saw Borris take out something from his trouser pocket.
"Use my car as an expression of my gratitude. Then as before, I'll pick up my car at your office. Use it as comfortably as possible and don't refuse."
Aimee actually felt reluctant and doubtful.
"I can take Sasha by taxi," said Aimee, not just for pleasantries.
In the past, before Borris had taken the initiative to give Aimee the key to his car.
Borris allowed Aimee to collect taxi fees from the apartment to Sasha's school and the cost of a taxi from school to Aimee's office.
Despite refusing and objecting. Borris still gave Aimee money.
However, after this new idea appeared several times. Aimee looked at Borris in surprise.
"Didn't you have important business with your client this morning? If I took your car. What would you go for?" Aimee asked.
Stupid question indeed. But it would be unethical if Aimee didn't ask.
"I'll take a taxi. I happen to be lazy. So I can take a taxi first and then pick up my car at your place."
Aimee finally nodded in resignation.
Received the car key without complaining anymore.
"Okay. Not a problem. Do as before. And sorry if that bothered you a bit too."
Knew and realized everything that Borris did for his daughter. Aimee was grateful that at least she would only borrow Borris' car for a while.
Only in the morning. Then after noon had begun to rise longer. Borris would take his car back to pick up Salsha from school.
Said goodbye and then kissed Salsha's forehead.
Borris said goodbye to Aimee.
"I'll leave Sasha. And drive carefully!"
Nodded slowly and told Salsha to come in first so Aimee could get ready and get her things.
"You wait here, okay. Auntie will take the bag and take you. We're leaving in two minutes. Okay?"
Coded with her finger, Salsha nodded.
"Okay, Auntie. Make the best of aunt's time!"
Only 5 years old. But Salsha was a very smart little girl. Aimee never felt bothered every time she had to take care of her.
