2 Push of Fate

"It's because you're dead, I'm sorry to tell you this, but this is the fastest way to get you to realize this."

My head blanks out, okay me, let's not freak out. Let's analyze the situation first. I did have a bad accident, so there are a few possibilities, I'm just sleeping in the hospital, or on the road. I'm unconscious, and that's why this is a different kind of dream than I ever had before, or I'm in coma, and I'm still having a weird dream. And a head injury made me forget my name, or any name I knew actually.

Or I might really be dead, and this is real.

Either way there's nothing I can do about it now. And I'm doing great in not freaking out, I'm proud at myself hehe. I can still laugh at myself for being smug, so not everything about me is gone.

It's a pity about my date though, but looking at my past dating experience… It wouldn't have worked out anyway.

And maybe I get something out of this, they probably won't have such a grand meeting with… the goddess of nightmares for everyone who dies?

"Okay, I can accept my death for now." I hope I still can when I calm down, or I won't have to if I wake up. But she doesn't need to hear me say that. "But why am I here?"

"I took an interest in your soul, it's so gray and dull. Your soul looks even more boring than mine does." The corner of her lips lift up in a disdainful smirk. "Just look at yourself, I'll make our bodies reflect the colors of your souls."

As I'm looking at her she turns in the general shape of a human body, if she showed up like this I wouldn't have known if she was male or female. All her features disappear but the black of her coat and hair spread all over her body, but there's white on the top of her fingers, it spreads to the back of her hands, up her arms, around her neck where they meet into a shape like a choker. From there back of her neck it flows down to her sides at the height of her lowest rib and goes up in a curve where her breasts would've been. It flows down again to her sides, circles one time around her legs and under her feet.

It looks mesmerizing, the lines accentuate her female curves even though the actual shape of her body is genderless.

After that, her nails turned red, a deep blood red. I almost get the idea I can see the blood flowing.

I look down my own body, the shape of my body is the same as hers, a genderless shape of a human. But my color is just gray. My hands, my arms, my chest, legs, feet, I even move my body to try to look at my back. Everything is this dull color gray. Even the bottom of my feet are gray.

I try to look at my nose, but the sides of my nose are gray too. I wish I had a mirror.

Just as I thought that the universe I was standing in turned gray, my color gray. I look at my hands again, if the gray around me wasn't infinitely far away I'd have lost them in the background.

"It wasn't just the world that was gray…" I mumble to myself.

I look up at her again, she turned back to her ghastly white and black self sometime when I was looking at myself.

"So I'm dull, that still doesn't explain why I am here." I'm starting to get annoyed by her, you don't have to show me that I'm the thing I hate most, I know deep down that I'm just like the world I hated. I don't need your reminder, especially turning everything around me in… me I guess.

She smirks again, damn she's working on my nerves even more.

"I'm here to give you another shot, I've picked a… colorful world for you. Like one in those novels you like"

I really did like novels, cause they made me forget my world with their colorful worlds. Especially that one novel… what's its name again… damn, I guess it's not just peoples their names I forgot. But that's not the point now. What's more important is that I don't like the way she said 'colorful'. Let's just say it doesn't make me feel at ease, at all.

"Where's the catch?"

"There's no catch, but you do need to go through two lucky wheels. I've picked the subject for one already. And because I pity you a little you get to pick the second subject." And she smirks again. Really? Is that the only thing your face does? Nothing and smirk?

And I wouldn't have expected to have this Gothic woman come up with the idea of lucky wheels?

"Why lucky wheels? Are we in a game show?"

"Well, I am the goddess of war and fate, so let your fate lead you to your lucky draw. And yes, it kind of is a game show, but it's just for me. Being a God is a hard job, so I need entertainment." She smiles… please go back to have your face do nothing with an occasional smirk, cause this sends shivers down my spine.

"Okay, what is your topic?" please let's just get this over with. I start to like her less and less.

"I picked your world already, so you don't need to worry about that. And my wheel for will be about who or what you'll reincarnate into."

She points her arm to the side and a black fog appears besides her. After it lifts away I saw the most eerie lucky wheel I've ever seen.

It was black with white letters, the lines that make the different parts are made of bones. And the stick to spin the wheel from looks like an old spear. There's a skull of a bird with an extra hole in its forehead in the center and a normal crow on top. Or at the very least that looks normal.

I honestly don't even know what I expected of a lucky wheel made by this woman.

Looking at the words I saw many things like 'noble human kid' or 'beastman slave kid' and even 'house cat'

"So, will you turn my wheel of fate."
