12 A True Dragon's Influence

I just kept on flying north, but it felt like everything got weaker around me. So I kept on flying as day turned into night and night into day. It's my third day in this world, I hope I'll find something exciting today, something that makes me stronger still.

But as I kept on searching I didn't find anything till the sun reached its highest place in the sky. But then I heard a pig's scream, and so I fly towards it. And there I meet it again, a majestic creature.

It's 4 meters long, a lush green with black stripes. It's the tiger again. And it spots me right away, its evil eyes looking at me. It drops the boar and runs at me, it probably wants its essence back.

I'm sorry tiger, you don't feel as dangerous anymore. My 10 needles fly to its eyes and they puncture it, blinding it. But they didn't enter its brain. Damn, I wished I could kill it right away, but my power isn't there yet. I fly up and the needles fly out with its eyes, the tiger screams in pain, I never knew a tiger could scream.

I'm out of its reach now, I suppose. Maybe being a mosquito wasn't that bad after all, being able to fly is great, and being small is making it even harder to hit me. That combined with a control skill that can do precise piercing damage, as long as I don't seek honor in the death I spread I'd be pretty well off. My advantage will shrink a lot if my opponent can fly though.

As I'm getting drunk in power something big enters my detection dome from above me, and I get paralyzed in fear. It's huge, it could swallow the tiger in 2 bites. It has white scales, but they are a broken white, the color of bones. It's this color all over, it's scales, teeth, nails, horns and spikes. It slams on the ground and a dust cloud rises, I start fleeing.

I fly as fast as I can, I can still catch a glimpse of it swallowing the tiger whole. I'm no mosquito, I am a frog in a well. I was ignorant, before something like that all my tricks are useless. It was a dragon, a huge dragon, a white dragon. But I didn't get a holy feeling from it, it was the scariest thing I've ever seen. I can only compare it to the Morrigan.

I keep on flying and a voice enters my head.

"Little one, I saw you fight the tiger just now and it amused me. A tiger being helpless before a bug like you, but I saw you filling up with contempt. So there for this wakeup call. If you stayed to face me you would have died, so you did well. Never face someone when you have no chance of winning. I live in the center of this forest south from here, if you can reach me I'll give you something you'll like. But you'll probably die before you can even reach me. Goodbye little bug."

This stupid lizard looks down on me, he dares to look down on me!? He has probably lived for hundreds of years, and he looks down on me so much!? I'll go there and I'll take everything he has.

"Fine, I'll come to you, you stupid lizard. I'll take what you'll give me, and I'll take everything you have. Someone as old as you looking down om a 3 day old mosquito. Your skin is even thicker than mine!"

I don't know if he heard everything, as he is long gone. But I will go there and claim my price and everything else. I curse at him as my wings are shining red.

I was planning to go south anyway, there's absolutely nothing here. Everything is weak, there's no opportunity to grow. I can barely wait to see my growth after drinking the dragon's blood essence, that will give me a proper growth spurt. But he probably is the king of this forest, so I'll need to become unrivaled before I seek him out.

I start flying south, and I don't find anything notable for a full 2 days. My body is urging me to drink again, even though blood essence keeps me going for a long time I still need to eat at times. On my way I did find some creatures with blood essence, but they didn't make me want to devour them. So I didn't even bother, I need to make sure I gaine the most power within my limited levels.

There are 41 levels left, and I gain about 5 levels per drop of blood essence. So I can still absorb 8 to 9 drops. That's not too bad, with a bit of luck I can do that within a week.

It's the third day since I met the dragon, I need to find suitable blood essence fast. Otherwise I'll need to drink normal blood, and I'll never get to 9 drops if I start drinking normal blood. Maybe I should start a massacre again to find the boss monster. Yeah, let's just do that, but what creatures live in societies?

Ants, bees, wasps, hornets? But what more? Oh yeah right, wolves. I did see some wolves some time ago, 2 kinds of wolves that were fighting each other. I'll check them out, maybe I can steal an easy meal.

I needed to fly for 2 hours before I found them. And I knew that they were fighting, but it's more like a war broke out. There are 2 kinds of wolves, there are majestic white ones with beautiful hair and deep blue eyes. The other wolves are black without hair and have red eyes, it's like good versus evil in doggy style.
