1 Just Another Story

She lost.

She hoped.

But then she lost again.

Never once did she believe it was just another story.

Never once did she believe it was too good to be true.

Never once. Never once.

Until it was too late.

They had known each other for quite sometime now, and it would be an understatement to say that they hadn't been friends. But... could they really consider each other as friends? Maybe. Maybe not. Either way, she was happy.

It had always been her dream to peek inside his heart, and her dreams took a step closer to reality when he sent her a message asking for her number. She gave it; of course, it was a chance she need not miss.

They started to share a couple of conversations since then. They exchanged a few jokes too, and whatnots. Everyday it was like this. Everyday. And she began to fall even deeper.

Her feelings then grew more and more intense as the days passed by. Finally, it reached its zenith when he once agreed to attend a concert with her; and gave her this cute little drawing with scribbled words that made her heart skip a beat.

But… things don't always seem as good as they are; for suddenly, he stopped sending her messages. Suddenly, he stopped making her dreams come true. All of a sudden, he changed. And for what reason, she didn't know.

Probably he was just busy. Probably he doesn't want to be disturbed. Probably, she thought. So she decided to wait. And wait, she did. But he didn't show up. He never showed up. Never.

And just like that, he was gone.

She lost again, indeed.

She didn't want to give up just yet but it was entirely useless.

She lost.

She should have believed it was just another story.

She should have believed it was too good to be true.

She should have. She should have.

Now it was too late.
