60 The Boss.

"*Sigh*, The Bosss is literally the one who commanded Subordinate to search for you in this instance."(Recruit).

"Wait... So this Boss figure is the one behind this thing here."(Jin)

Saying that I pointed towards the body of Subordinate, liking it or not this bastard put the three of us in quite the precarious situation, and discovering that he has a superior giving order the whole time isn't surprising, but still angered me nonetheless.

"Yeah, he was also the previous commander of my 'squad'. He is also a [Advanced Master], but don't let that fool you, he is way stronger than Subordinate."(Recruit).

"If he is also a real master how come he is way stronger? shouldn't the disparity be a little less apparent?"(Jin).

"I guess due to the fact that you are relatively new to this type of thing you wouldn't know the specifics. But strength is not only dictated by cultivation."(Zen).

"Of course I know that. skills play a big role after all."(Jin)

"No, not just that. Experience, skills, technique, each one of those, and a bunch of other factors can indeed determine the strength of someone. But inside of each cultivation level, you could say we have some kind of informal pseudo levels."(Zen).

"What do you mean pseudo levels?"(Jin).

I don't remember anything of the sorts being talked about in the manga, there is indeed some unsaid thing about strength principally when we compare the different [Real Master] rankings. But by the way, they are talking I could take some guess of what it is, but it's better to say the truth as i am not certain about the info and looked like an idiot than pretend I know it and become a real idiot.

"You could say these pseudo levels are more of an informal way of addressing someone's progress than something as complex as dividing it, heck you may even have been doing it unconsciously. Pseudo levels are when you say for example that someone is at the peak of the [Advanced Master] realm, or halfway in the [Advanced Master] realm, or just an amateur. there is a bunch of nicknames sued to describe someone progress, and these kinds of nicknames we call them Pseudo levels."(Zen).

"Ahh, I understand now. I was indeed subconsciously using that kind of nomenclature. At least I know what it is now..."(Jin).

Huh, I always used that type of nomenclature and never took time to think about it. How many more things we subconsciously take for granted without really checking about them? I bet it is a lot. but I guess that is the way of our brain to adapt to things.

"Now that you understand what I am talking about you could say that Boss is at the peak of the [Advanced Master] level, completely different from what Subordinate was. But the thing extremely terrifying about Boss isn't his cultivation level, but the [Origin Technique] he posses, the [Crimson Flesh And Diamond Technique]."(Recruit).

"Yikes, and if I am not mistaken that technique should be something like my [Jade Cardinal Beast And Protector Technique]."(Zen).

"Indeed, sadly we don't have much time for me to go over the specifics of what an [Origin Technique] is, but I sent everything I know to you on that email I kept talking about."(Recruit)

"Thanks for that by the way."(Jin).

"No problem, now going back on the subject Boss have a somewhat distinct appearance, he is neither tall nor short, But I guess anyone can be called short when compared to you, he posses a strong and squarish jawline, sharp eyes and inclined eyebrows, and one of his most distinctive features is, of course, his hair, that is black with red tips. He also has a fairly muscular build, but not much like Subordinate or yourself-"(Recruit).

"And remember to take these kinds of description with a grain of salt, on the world of cultivators what we have the most is ways to alter your appearance, heck we even have means to alter a bit of your bone structure if you dig deep enough. So Boss could easily use some low-level disguise techniques to look differently. It unusual for someone to go to such length to disguise themselves, but it never hurts to be prepared"(Zen).

"Yeah, I definitely wouldn't put it past him..."(Recruit)

There is a little moment of awkward silence between the three of us, you could say that the fact that I would have to deal with the Boss alone finally sunk in with then. Heh, Recruit is going out of Korea, and Zen is Chinese so liking it or not I will be the only one in Korea dealing with the Boss. So that is why they are giving me so much info, it for my help in defeating Subordinate and a little bit of guilty they have on leaving me to deal with the Big Bad Alone. Guess I shouldn't waste the opportunity to fish for more info.

"There is any other distinctive characteristic of Boss you could think of?"(Jin).

"I guess you could say... Crimson? It's kinda difficult to explain, but when yous ee him that will be the first thing that will pop up on your mind."(Recruit).

"Crimson really? isn't that a little bit vague? He-"(Zen).

I didn't pay much attention to them anymore, when Recruit said the word "crimson" I couldn't help but think about that guy on the murim alliance-building rooftop, that guy who fought against the Demon King with some strange techniques. So that crimson guy is the Boss... Well, at least I got some time while he heals himself in the hospital, I think it would be enough to at least boost my survivability.

"*Sigh* I guess I know who you are talking about, if I am not mistaken I've seen him in the murim alliance battle a bit earlier today. Thankfully I have a little bit more time as he got pretty beaten up by the Demon King and is now healing in a hospital."(Jin).

"Huh, so that was the commotion I heard my guides talking about..."(Zen).

"Sadly I don't know much about what happened as I used the confusion to run away from there."(Recruit).

"it's good that both of you are at least aware of what happened. So before you go Recruit, I would like to ask. How did your team obtain so much info about me, I know I am not exactly the most discrete person, but I don't remember leaving such big clues besides some instances I could think of. But those would be very difficult to connect to the normal civilian me."(Jin).

"Well, we went to the underground arena and they ratted out on you. Said they didn't like that some random cultivator they didn't know about was healing and sponsoring you. If only they knew..."(Recruit).

"So it is like that huh... Maybe they only let me off due to the fear of my supposed Master."

I know that I am currently too weak to butt myself into the mess that is Red Comand and Hound dogs, but I guess I would need to address them sooner or later. Do you really think I have forgotten how they killed my father? It is just that it would be extremely stupid and dumb to even think about vengeance like I was before, heck even now it would be idiotic to think about it.

But my gains on the murim alliance invasion were quite good, so I guess I will have pretty great leaps in strength soon, principally with the high number of the different techniques I have copied.
