“Hmm?”

“Does Nico know about him?”

No, Bump, I haven’t gotten around to telling Nick about Myles. I haven’t even showed a picture of Nick to Myles. I’m keeping these two universes, red and blue, separate for now. I don’t want any purple yet. Just want to dream in red for a while. Can’t I have this reprieve?

“I haven’t spoken to Nick yet. He wrote me a letter two weeks ago and that was it.”

“Right.” Boone looked down at the picture of Myles, scanning it as though he was at the precinct, looking over a case. “You two aren’t…You know.”

I scowled and quickly turned my phone screen off. “Of course not. Boone, come on. Hello? He’s my cousin.”

“So?”

“I mean, it’s kind of incestuous.”

“Yeah, well, you know what, Der? That doesn’t reassure me one bit.” He raised a brow. “Ever hear of kissin’ cousins?”
