2 STARTING LINE

*Dianne's POV

"Everyone's looking at us Dianne. Please stop crying!" Aaron snapped. If I could command my tears to go back to where it came from, I would've already.

"Let them be. They know nothing!" I debated while hiding my face using my hands.

"That's the point!. Since they know nothing, they can think of anything!! You're ruining my image here." He retaliated immediately.

"I don't care about that!" I answered and sobbed at the same time.

"Great! Just Great! Now everyone will think I made you cry!" Aaron responded and huffed while throwing his hands in the air. His behavior did not help my situation. I continued crying to spite him.

"Dianne.. look at me, please."

Tomorrow is our college graduation.

Everyone is so excited including me as expected... until yesterday. My two year boyfriend just broke up with me and I don't understand why. There were no explanations given. A text was all it took to destroy our long time relationship. I thought the bond between us was strong enough to withstand any challenges but I might have thought wrong. He studied college in a different state, but that was never a problem. I have tried many ways to talk or meet him, but he's like a water that I can't get a grip on. A slimy bastard that is so hard to capture.

"Dianne, you don't want to have a terrible skin on your big day! forget that guy! He doesn't deserve you."

Aaron breaks the ice cold atmosphere between us. I didn't notice that the area has now gotten dark. We were out shopping for some shoes tomorrow when all this bottled emotions just blew up and got the better of me.

"Don't say that. You don't know him!" I exclaimed trying to defend my now ex lover.

"Yeah you're right, I don't... but I know you... so get yourself together and stop this nonsense!" His manly voice echoed and due to a lesser people around, it pierced my ears more.

Well, I don't have anything more to say. When need be, he will treat me like a piece of gum stuck on his pants. He can be as cruel as the summer sun and his words will act like knives, hitting me where it already hurts... so I decided to change the topic and hoping I could get away with my childish act.

"I don't want to go home. Mom won't let me sleep. She will slap me with questions and I will be in a worst state than I am now. You know she never approved of him from the beginning so I told her we broke up... a year ago. How will I explain my swollen eyes now?" I ask Aaron. I am more scared with what I'll hear from her when I get home rather than the monsters that creep up at night.

"You deserve that. Who told you to cry for him? Did he die or something? No! He just broke up with you. It was not a fairytale love story in the first place. Move on and just curse him!" He answers back without batting an eye. His bubbly nature is nowhere to be found.

"Help me please, hmm.. Aaron? You know I have no one else. Just think of this as a payback for what you owe me!" I threatened him.

A while back, he was caught by his brother storing a stache of gay porn videos in his computer. How and on what coincidence, nobody knows. He always have admired his brother and to let him down due to his gender is the last thing he would want to happen. Afraid of disappointing his sibling lead him to lie... and ofcourse, conveniently using my name at that! Such an admirable and awesome friend - throwing me to the pits of hell and letting my bones rot there. What's worse?... Aaron calmly told his brother that I requested those clips for sex reference. Fifty seven videos total just was all it took to ruin my demure reputation. Why the hell would I ever do that?? So then his confused brother phoned and the kindness in me can't help but care. That's when I started helping Aaron hide the 'her' in his body.

"I knew it! I knew that you will one day use that card against me. You are really clever Dianne!" Aaron surrenders. He stands up and I observe him pace back and forth in front of me while I sat nervously on one of the park bench.

"What? Aren't you going to say 'Alright I'll cover you?

"Wait.. I'm thinking here"

"What's there to think about? You are good at making excuses. You did not have second thoughts using my name back then? Good thing your brother just laughed it out." I raised my case.

Aaron scratches the back of his head as he think of believable ideas on how he could help me.

"Alright! I'm not sure if you're going to like this but listen anyway. We're going to have a big argument while we enter you're house so..."

"...so my mom won't have the chance to ask me questions and I can excuse my puffy eyes using the fight!" I exclaimed as I continue Aaron's statement. "Bingo! They won't find it suspicious since our families have known each other since we were kids... I hope." He further explains, crosing his index and middle finger together.

"I think this is perfect. I know I could count on you!" I patted his back.

"Now, Let's go before it gets too cold here. I don't want your Dad witnessing us having the 'fight'. I will be dead by then." I hurried and grabbed my pouch and shopping bags as we made our way to the parking lot.

While on our way, we discussed how we are going to play it. The words we have to use and the timing for when my mom will have to stop us. After sometime, we finally arrived to my home, got out of the car and took long deep breaths as we stand in front of the front door.
