25 Chapter 24

Seeing the leaf again warmed his heart. Here he wouldn't have to be a cold son of a bitch to every stranger he met. His sharingan spun catching every bit of the image devoting it to his memory never to fade. It wasn't the same as before the invasion, new buildings were popping up and with-it opportunity. Its as his old world taught him, there is no greater opportunity for a power grab as during a crisis.

"Hey guys Bastion is smiling." Naruto yelled. Sasuke, Sakura, and Kekashi looked over and smiled with him.

"Its good to be home." Bastion said in his defense.

Later he was in a room with Inoichi Ino's father. The blonde-haired man had a pen out and began writing something. "Now Bastion Uchiha, I understand that you killed 2 enemy nin while you were away on a mission. How does that make you feel? Be honest I'll know if you're lying." Inoichi said.

Bastion rubbed his face and thought about it. "I felt nothing, I didn't think about it at all. My adrenaline was spiked the enemy showed their neck and I took advantage of it. I'm certain they wouldn't have hesitated given the opportunity. I still feel nothing, taking their lives wasn't important they weren't helpless civilians or children." Bastion said.

"Interesting, so if they were children you wouldn't have killed them. You don't see yourself as a child?" Inoichi asked.

"No, I'm not a child. My mind has experienced too much to classify me as a child. That experience will only increase over time. I killed two enemy shinobi that imprisoned our Hokage behind a barrier, and I probably killed one or two on my way to the barrier. I don't think about them, I think it would be wrong to. I wouldn't be me if I gave them a second thought." Bastion said. He smiled at his own words.

"So, if I tried to kill you right now, what would you do?" Inoichi said giving off some killing intent. Killing intent was a type of chakra enhanced empathy that warned those around you of danger. It was stupid to use in Bastion's opinion. He still felt on edge.

"I would assume you were under Genjutsu and try to break it. Failing that, I would restrain you. Killing a comrade isn't something I would do except as a last resort." Bastion said. The killing intent receded.

"Interesting, you may leave." Inoichi said with a kind smile.

Bastion walked out without much care. "They are concerned Ouro, what should I do?" Bastion asked.

"I'm merely your assistant, you must walk your own path. But I suggest you take up a hobby to ease the shinobi's minds it may help you as well." Ouro suggested. Bastion thought about it for a second. He couldn't turn to drinking, whoring, or gambling at such a young age. Taking up interest in a new shinobi skill wouldn't be ideal. There was one thing he missed from his old world, music.

After that he walked into a music shop and purchased a child's violin. Returning to his training ground he popped one clone at a time. Two weeks' worth of memories crashed into him. His chakra control sharpened as well as his ability to transform chakra into rock. Three more clones burst, and his memories settled. This was his foundation for future earth techniques.

The quality of his chakra changed. He could feel an earthy element to it. This wasn't mastery over the element, but it was a step in the right direction. Stabbing his hands into the falling water he unleashed a vast amount of earth chakra and pictured an arched doorway. Stone arches crashed into the water as the arch thickened and rose. Soon the stone construct took form despite the crashing waves. It lasted only if Bastion poured chakra into it. He could fight the waterfall, he couldn't make his earth chakra sturdy enough yet.
