11 Chapter 10 The Art of War

"For the first five years of my life I've been in the planning stage for a war. I've devoured every scrap of natural energy I could find. I learned techniques and how to control my chakra. Everything in preparation for this one moment. Now that I'm finally here, I'm nervous. All of this could have been made worthless if I can't weaken Shikaku." Bastion said. Ouro hummed in the background unwilling to speak on the matter. It was only prebattle jitters. When this started he had a decision to make. Help Naruto defeat Shikaku and get his revenge or prevent the Hokage's assassination.

As much as he wanted to fight Shikaku, he knew he wasn't ready. Naruto sported 5,000,000CP five times more than Bastion, before the month of training. Then again, Bastion has routinely doubled and tripled his power. Bastion would have only a second to decide before he tipped the scale in one way or another.

He watched the first match. Naruto and Neji fought and things went as they had. Naruto proved that fate could be changed. Then a thought occurred to Bastion what if he started this fight early. Could Kekashi assassinate Garra and end this before it began. The shear decision making power he had was glorious. But it was better to keep a tight leash on things. Keeping the Hokage alive was easier than fighting Shikaku with only one technique.

Temari vs Shikamaru happened and the lazy Nara showed what he was capable of. He clearly failed the planning stage and used strategy and tactics instead. Despite how well he did, Bastion believed he could have won if he had prepared.

Then Sasuke and Kekashi appeared. He watched Sasuke use his Sharingan and drive a lightning covered arm into Garra's sand barrier. Feathers fell from the sky and Bastion cycled his chakra to throw off the illusion. A simple skill he learned from the library.

Naruto fell asleep and Sasuke chased after Garra. This was it, save the old man or assist Sasuke for hopefully an easy kill. He decided to do the right thing and put the village above himself. Bastion took up the tactic of forcing sound ninja to stumble before unleashing a full powered haymaker. Ribs, knees, and spines cracked under his over powered assaults. His weights were off and with them his restraint. Slowly, he made his way to the Square flame barrier.

"Stay back kid and get to a bunker its not safe for students." Bastion had already gathered the earth needed on his way. Out of the concrete rose a massive fist. He had it aimed for the fat one. 1000s of chakra vanished every second it took the fist to get in position. Then like an act of god, it stuck. The barrier was hot and would burn a grown man alive in seconds, rock enhanced with chakra, that was another story. The fist came crashing down turning the restrained member of sound four into a puddle of gore. The barrier flickered as the fist rose again heated in places but undamaged. The barrier remained with three members up until it came down on the conjoined twins. With the barrier open leaf ninja were able to rush in to assist the hokage.

Bastion turned away from the fight and set his sights on the massive shape of the Shikaku towering over trees in the distance. Gama Bunta appeared, and Bastion knew he might be too late. He rushed with all his speed towards the battle.

The giants didn't notice his small speeding form. Not even when he was under the Shikaku. It was there he saw the creature's weakness. Unleashing twin fists one shot straight up into the demon's anus. Shikaku opened his mouth and shrieked. This was his chance, using the other fist he smashed it down on the Shikaku's foot, severing it.

Bastion moved and reduced the foot into natural energy and absorbed it along with traces of Garra's chakra. He took in less than 300kCP and fully absorbed it in seconds. The injury was devastating but not permanent. Over time the Shikaku would regain its former strength. Sand moved towards him in a multitude of shapes trying to grasp and crush him. When it broke off too far from the beast's main body, Bastion reduced it to natural energy and absorbed it. This time he absorbed 700k and doubled his reserves. At the same time Gama Bunta and Naruto were fighting the Shikaku. The distraction would cost the demon.

Bastion wasn't done fisting it. With greater chakra he could summon a mightier fist. It shot up smashing the Shikaku in its true weak spot. The beast paused as pain rocked its massive body. Despite being a chakra beast, it still had some biological features. That was its downfall.

This time the fist grabbed a chunk and pulled it free of Shikaku. Bastion turned that into Nature energy and absorbed it. 800k more CP and he was only growing strong as the battle went on. Then the beast turned on him. It opened its mouth and launched an air bullet just as Gama sprayed it with water. Bastion was just able to get away from its attack.

Shikaku smashed his first rock fist and turned it into more sand before doing the same with the second. "You'll pay for that." The beast yelled and swung its arm down at him now completely ignoring Naruto.

Two more fists shot out of the ground covered in trees meeting the beast's paws. They were at a standstill Shikaku pushing against arms attached the the earth itself. Two more fists shot out chopping through the beast's hands. The second they weren't attached to main body, Bastion absorbed them claiming 1.2million CP. He had only taken 4% from the monster but it was still power. Bastion could feel his coils almost bursting with the energy. He wasn't stopping until he had at least 10%.

"You want my chakra do you well here have it." The bijuu opened its mouth and began gathering chakra. This was what Bastion had been waiting for. A fist mightier than any other before shook the earth as it emerged. Like a dolphin it broke through the ocean of earth seamlessly. The Shikaku's eyes opened wide as its face was impacted. The chakra flew down its throat and its stomach exploded. Hands of earth wrapped around Bastion protecting him.

The second it happened Bastion turned everything he could into natural energy. Taking in just enough at a time to digest it, Bastion filled himself up repeatedly with the beast's chakra. The presence of Shikaku was slowly returning to Garra. Bastion managed to digest just 11% of the beast before it was safely away. Naruto had his heart to heart with Garra while Bastion returned to the village.
