9 Stoneheart Barbarian

"Sup Lil' princess." Amari said with a smirk.

Ai stared at Amari for a long time, wishing she had gotten some kind of time-traveling skill from the system instead. Her face was bright red.

"You did not hear that." Ai said plainly.

"Hear what? Hear you flirting with the system? Ai, Ai, Ai. If you wanted to learn about the birds and the bees, you shoulda just come to your big sis!" Amari dropped down from the tree with a shit-eating grin.

"You shut your whore mouth!" Ai yelled out, her face turning slightly purple as though she used all of the air in her lungs to yell out.

"Pffft Hahahaha!" Amari burst out in tears laughing so hard. "You... you're face! It's hilarious! Hardly befitting of 'her royal majesty'!"

Ai stomped towards Amari and *CRACK* headbutt her right in the nose.

"Hey! That stung a little, 'princess'! Hahaha!" She laughed but her nose was crooked and bleeding profusely.

"Tch. Listen..." Ai clicked her tongue before becoming serious, even with her forehead slightly caved in and bleeding.

"About earlier..."

"Don't. Lil sis, I've thought about it, whatever your name is, whatever you remember, you're still my sister. You've changed a little what with those other memories or whatever floating around in that head of yours, but that doesn't change the fact that we share the same blood or the fact that we've been through so much together."

Ai smiled warmly, the feelings of Aiya began to surface, despite her happiness, a single tear of sorrow graced her cheek before dispersing into mana.

Amari's eyes widened. "Sis! Your eye!"

Ai looked at Amari confused. '[Prestidigitation]' She created a small palm-sized mirror out of mana and looked into it, her right eye, the slightly darker of the two, had changed in color.

"It's... Purple?" That's right, Aiya had purple eyes.

Suddenly some of her memories started to come back, she could remember some of the blueprints of items to create, down to the delicate structuring of some of the more complex weaponry. On top of this, she remembered a skill that came with the second level of the class. [Dimensional Storage]

"Sis? You ok? What happened?" Amari asked with slight worry on her face.

"It's nothing, just more memories of Aiya coming back, I remember some of the things I used to create and how I stored them."

Amari's eyes lit up in excitement. "So you can use your storage thingy!?"

Ai shook her head. "Ah, not quite yet, I have to reach level 2 first."

"That's a shame. You know, Aiya had purple eyes, and she used to headbutt me every time I pissed her off." Amari chuckled.

Ai smiled warmly. 'Maybe I wasn't faking anything then. Good, I don't want to live a life lying to her.'

"Ah, sis, would you mind if I scanned you? I'd like to get a better understanding of your abilities." Ai asked.

"Hehe, curious how strong your big sis is eh? Knock yourself out." Amari said with a big grin.

"Thank you, [True Analysis]."

[Name: Amari Stoneheart

Ai's eyes widened seeing her HP, even a broken nose only caused 3 damage! Looking at the other stats, Ai broke out in laughter.

"Eh? What's so funny sis?"

"Hahahaha! Nothing, just that, pffffft, you're dumber than a box of rocks and have the charisma of a flatulent donkeys ass! Hahaha!"

"Oi, do you have to be so brutal sis...? And what does flat you whatchamacallit mean?"

"Give me a second..." Ai said plainly while staring at Amari with a serious expression.

*pffft*

"You know that's hardly becoming of a proper Pri--"

"If you say princess one more time, I'm shoving that sword of yours where the sun doesn't shine."

"Fair enough."

...

"Princess Flat you lance."

"I hate you."

"I know." Amari said with a shit-eating grin.

"So 'Stoneheart' Barbarian is a thing, huh?" Ai decided to take a break on horse-assing around for now.

"Thanks to our bloodline, yup."

"So what does that entail exactly?"

Amari had a look of confusion. "Huh? In tail? No no, I don't get a tail. I just get some skills just for our clan, you woulda gotten em too if you went with one of the core tribal classes, even the shaman has some clan abilities."

...

"You really are dumber than a rock."

"And you are the princess of ass."

They both stuck their tongues out at each other at the same time.

Ai groaned. "Ugh, look, onto serious matters, we need to talk about something important."

Amari smirked like she was about to say something crude but changed her mind and expression to a more serious tone. "Right, go ahead sis."

Ai took in a deep breath, this is a conversation she was dreading since her memories started coming back.

"I need to leave, and before you say anything, yes, I mean the tribe. I need to go out and explore the world, become strong again, and make allies. With the Cycle coming soon, I need to focus on making use of the power I have acquired. From the sound of things, the state of this world is bad as well. If I remember correctly, you are one of 7 of the most powerful people in this world, but your only level 21, in my prime I was level 101 and that still wasn't enough to stop the Cycle. We need to figure out exactly why it became so insanely difficult to level up past 20."

Amari looked distraught, like as though she was struggling to process all of the information, after a moment she nodded her head.

"Well Lil sis, I guess you don't remember this, but the reason it is so difficult to level up beyond 20 is 'cause the experience needed between 20 and 21 is huge, and even more so past that. The monsters at 21 and higher are insanely powerful as well, even though they give a huge amount of experience, even I have a really hard time fighting just one of them."

"Well, this is... unfortunate to say the least." Ai looked down to the ground with her hand on her chin. Thinking hard about things for a moment, an idea popped into her head.

"Wait, what if we form a party with some of the other strongest people? Perhaps we could work together to farm the higher level monsters and level up that way. Even a small group of high-level adventurers could make a difference." Ai nodded, smiling with renewed determination.

"So you're assuming I go along with all this and let you leave on your own again? You'd be dead wrong there sis." Amari glared at Ai.

"But I have to! I-"

Ai was cut off as Amari embraced her, shocking Ai.

"I'm not gonna lose you again, so I'm coming with you." Amari hugged Ai tightly.

"Amari, I. Are you sure? What about the clan?"

"Mata can lead them in my stead. He took care of them when I went off for the month looking after you. We already discussed it when I brought you back, I thought you might decide to leave again. After I saw your eyes had turned grey, I knew something in you changed."

Ai finally returned the embrace. "That's rather intelligent, for you anyways."

Amari chuckled. "Eat shit, ass princess."

They both laughed and broke off the embrace.
