45 More Troll Problems (Part 1)

"Shit, Aiya, you crazy girl! You blew that bastards head sky high!" Cidney slapped Ai's back as the crewmen were working on hauling the wyverns head back down to the deck.

"I know! That was so much fun! Did you see the blood and guts just go everywhere!? And the look on the wyvern's face when it knew it was fucked! Hahaha!" Ai sat on the railing, kicking her feet in excitement as she paid no attention to the sheer amount of blood that had dyed almost her entire sundress.

"We'll have to sing songs about what we did here today!" Cidney grinned.

"Oi, let's get the fuck off this thing and go kill that troll already." Amari cut in.

"The Leviathan is not a thing!"

Both Ai and Cidney snapped back at Amari at the same time, causing both of them to laugh.

"Meh, whatever, let's get off the Leviathan and go hunt us a troll, I wanna be able to fight without hurling every two seconds." Amari waved her hand in the air as she hopped up on the railing and disappeared in a blur.

Ai looked back towards the land and saw that Amari landed on a rock poking out of the mud. She looked at Cidney and grinned. "Wanna join us for the fun?"

"Nah, I'll stay here with the ship, we're gonna fix the damage you caused while we wait for you two, don't get me wrong, I'm not mad. That first fireball would have done a lot more damage if it wasn't for you." Cidney smiled and tossed Ai a small sack that jingled with the sound of coins.

"Heehee, thanks Cidney, ah, by the way, my name is Ai now. Though I'll explain that when I get back, Ciao~" She said as she disappeared from her spot and reappeared next to Amari, who was hugging the rock that she was on.

Sensing Ai, Amari groaned. "I fucking love you, land. Don't ever leave me again!"

Ai giggled and looked further inland, currently, they were at the foot of an incline, mud from the swamp slid down into the river, which was carried further up the river and fed back into the swamp. The swamp itself was nothing more than a slow-moving, disgusting river itself.

The sisters leaped from rock to rock, traveling further inland. Eventually, they had no more rocks to jump to and they had to jump into the knee-high muddy waters. Amari didn't have too much of an issue with this, however, Ai...

"Ugh, this is disgusting! How the hell are we supposed to fight a troll in this mess!?"

"Well there are small 'islands' all over the place, if we run into the fat bastard in the mud, we can draw him to the islands, that'll at least make fighting him easier, yeah?"

Ai groaned. "I guess, still, I'm gonna need a hot bath after this!"

Amari chuckled and nodded as they trudged through the swamp.

They spent a good 15 minutes walking around until they finally smelled the familiar foul odor of the troll, the stench enhanced by the muggy atmosphere.

"Ugh, finally, now where are these islands?" Amari tapped Ai on the shoulder and pointed to their left, there it was, sitting on one of the small islands fast asleep. Ai had a sadistic grin as she really wanted to try a certain weakness, but she sensed Amari glaring at her and she looked, seeing her shaking her head disapprovingly. 'Killjoy...'

Amari quietly drew her sword as Ai summoned her spear using all of her mana, she looked at Amari, holding up a hand, as if telling her to wait until she got most of her mana back, then gave her a thumbs up.

Amari disappeared from her spot and reappeared above the behemoth, bringing her massive blade down, she yelled out. "[Greater Cleave]!" Brilliant red light erupted from the blade as the energy cut through the troll's fat body entirely.

It's hideous yellow eyes shot open immediately as the two halved immediately started to merge back together. Ai didn't give it even a second as she launched the spear right in between the two halves before she opened her clenched fist.

*BOOM*

In a manner similar to their first troll encounter, the top half of the troll exploded in a shower of viscera, coating the grey-green grass with blood, guts, and fat.

Ai wasted no time and conjured a yellow and red circle once more. "[Empower] [Lightning Bolt]!"

*CRACK*

The brilliant red lightning burst forth, separating the arm from what little piece of the torso had remained. The searing heat from the bolt sealed off that part of the torso, permanently preventing the troll from regenerating its arm.

"One down! Sis!"

Ai shouted out as Amari channeled energy into her sword once again. "Time to fuck this guy up real good, [Greater Flurry of Blades]!" A single swing of her blade brought a thousand cuts, and she continuously swung her blade at the quickly regenerating main body of the monster, each swing of her sword ripped and tore through it faster than it was regenerating the lost flesh.

"Now sis!" Ai shouted out the moment her mana reached its maximum threshold. "[Greater Cleave]!" Amari cleaved through the body once more, sending the rest of the body flying in different directions.

Ai summoned five circles as the missiles began to take form. She focused on all of the largest body parts that continued to regenerate and launched each of the missiles, opening her hand the moment that all five connected as a serious of small explosions echoed throughout the swamp.

"Lets fucking go sis!" Ai and Amari blurred and high-fived each other as they looked around at the unmoving pieces. "Now all we gotta do is go around and burn the pieces, then mission complete!"

Ai summoned a torch from her inventory and ignited it with a spark from [Prestidigitation]. She summoned a second torch, doing the same thing before handing it off to Amari.

They walked around the island, pressing the torch to any piece of flesh they came across as the pieces burst into flame and quickly turned to ashes.

Ai had heard something moving around in a bush, so she approached, expecting to find a piece of the troll regenerating, and sure enough, she found it's head, a creepy yellow eye stared up at her and blinked.

Only the one eye, its nose, an ear, and a part of its face remained, however, there was no expression on the troll's face, no anger at her for destroying its body, no fear of the flame that she carried, it simply stared at her, blinking periodically.

"Guess you just gave up, huh? I don't blame you, to be honest. I probably would just give up too if a powerful foe showed up out of nowhere and just completely destroyed me. Fuck, am I already going insane? Here I am talking to a troll's head! Ah well, rest in peace, mister troll." Ai smiled as she held the torch up to the troll's head. However...

*SPLURT*

A slimy tentacle erupted out from where it's mouth would have been, wrapping around Ai's arm, the tentacle was strong enough to stop Ai from moving her arm.

"Eh?" Ai looked down at her arm, seeing the slimy tendril gripping her arm. "Eh!?" She dropped the torch on the ground, her heart stopped for a second, her face turned pale. "N-no, surely not." Several more tentacles popped out of the head, reaching out for Ai.

"No no no no NO NO NO NO!!!!" Ai screamed out as the tentacles wrapped around her arms and legs, pulling her body towards the head as it split in half, revealing an expanding maw of teeth, tendrils, and nightmare-fuel for years to come.

"NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"
