1 Earth, What Happened?

Earth, the once beautiful, lush green blue planet was now more blue than green. Although, not a good blue. It was as if the blue ocean could now be seen as a dirty, brownish blue. Garbage and rubbish swirling around in dark infest waters.

The world has suffered from pollution for far too long and finally gave in to Mankind's greed and selfishness. The ice caps melted causing sea levels to rise dramatically. Sinking parts of the world effortlessly and killing many people throughout.

Seeking revenge for its child, the Cosmos sent a rain of small icy comets down to the surface. The larger comets crashed and upheaved the surface in certain spots of the world while, the rest melted in the atmosphere causing a long lasting downpour across the whole world.

Humanity was not prepared for the multiple disasters afflicted upon the world. The quickly focused on nuclear technologies. Many advances were made. The more wealthy and prospering cities were able to use the tech to make force fields to protect the cities from the rising water levels. Eventually these places were submerged completely, making the only way to access them by submarines or teleporter.

Not every place was able to do this, or were not fast enough to implement it. So the other option was to make city boats. These boats were large and habitable. These boats eventually, made a way to link themselves to each other. This was the future foundation of nations.

The land was no longer available to the humans due to the radiation of old nuclear power plants destroyed by the rain. Also the radiation from the comet rain soaked into everything. the creatures not protected from it and abandoned by the humans had no choice but to absorb all the radiation and become stronger, for revenge's sake.

Even humans were not safe from the harmful radiation, many died. Though many others survived, they absorbed it like the animals. People developed "magical" powers. Different abilities were unwillingly bestowed to them. Due, to humanity's tenacious Will to Live.
