Mission Failed.
The mysterious person inspected Vergil before realizing that he had passed out from magic overconsumption. "Youngsters these days. They don't know how to hold back."
The mysterious person said as he looked towards the Purple Flash. The Purple Flash was pinned down due to the arrow and was experiencing intense pain, as he tried to remove the arrow from his body.
"That won't do, I used a special type of arrow that sticks to its target like a crocodile bite." The person said as he slowly made his way over to the Purple Flash. The person knelt next to the Purple Flash and got out his trusty hunters knife.
"I've heard you're worth quite a lot because of how many people you've killed. So how bout it, I take your life and in return, you offer me your bounty." The Purple Flash didn't respond and simply continued to try and take out the arrow from its chest.
"Hmph, so be it." The person said as he took his knife and tried to stab at the Purple Flash. Although the Purple Flash was currently incapacitated, that didn't mean it couldn't use its claws or sharp teeth to defend itself.
So, as soon as the person tried to stab it, it bit towards them with all its force. The Purple Flash missed and the person used this opportunity to finally put it out of its misery, by stabbing it straight in the head.
The Purple Flash stopped its struggling and now looked more like a peaceful wolf sleeping than the assassin of the forest. "Glad we could compromise." The person said as he took out the knife he had lodged in the wolf's head and wiped it clean with its fur.
They stood up and looked at Vergil before asking. "Now what should I do with you." The person thought for a bit before picking Vergil and the wolf up, making sure to bring the bag and the staff they had found next to Vergil.
Vergil woke up a few hours later, a massive headache overtaking him. "Ugh, Why does my head feel like its been hit by a hammer?" Vergil said as he was currently too focused on his headache to notice his surroundings.
Once Vergil's headache subsided though, Vergil finally took a good look at where he currently was. He was on a bed with bedsheets made out of some type of fur he had never seen before
To the right was a table and on it some meat with a glass of water and a note. Vergil made his way over to the table and looked at the note. The note read, "Once you're done eating, head over to the living room located left of this room."
Vergil put the note down and made his way over to the food that his "savior" had provided for him. Although Vergil was a bit skeptical that the food might be poisoned, those thoughts were put to the side when he realized the person could have just killed him while he was unconscious if they wanted to.
Vergil sat down on a chair that he had found and begun enjoying his meal. The meat was tough but full of flavor almost as if rewarding you for biting down on it. Once Vergil was done eating, he drank some of the water and got up as he looked for his bag. Before he could though, a new system notification popped up.

"Wait, wha…" Vergil couldn't complete his words as he suddenly felt immense pain in his heart. "Ughh...what...the…hell...system what...Is going...on…" Vergil could only make small words come out of his mouth as he could barely talk right now.

After hearing this, Vergil suddenly remembered his first fight with the wolves and how he had to borrow some antibiotics and painkillers due to his right arm. Vergil had completely forgotten the fact that the system had let him borrow SP to buy those though.
"I...I'm sorry... I forgot about the...mission...system…"

Vergil remembered back to the time when the system had forced him to look at his [Mission] tab. Although the debt mission was probably there, Vergil must have been too distracted by the new form mission to of paid any attention to the other missions.
"Alright...yes I remembered...but...please don't....kill me...I don't wanna die…!" Vergil said with what little strength he had left as he felt his vision slowly fade.

Vergil who was about to blackout forever, woke up with a jolt as if all his organs had regained life at the same time. Vergil knelt on the ground with sweat all over his body, as he made a promise to pay more attention to the system from now on.
Vergil took one more quick breather as he stood up. He went over to the bed he slept on and used the bedsheets to wipe himself off the sweat. Once done, Vergil began looking for his bag once more.
He looked for a bit before finding it under his bed. He checked inside and found that his Ryujin Jakka was still there. Vergil sighed a sigh of relief and got up from the hard wooden floor.
He checked to make sure he had everything before putting on his socks along with his waraji's. Vergil made his way out of the room, and following the directions provided by the note, made his way over to the living room.
In the living room, Vergil saw a man quietly reading a book on bows. He seemed to be around his mid-30s and Vergil immediately recognized him as an elf. He concluded the man's appearance, as he had pointy ears and light blonde hair with deep green eyes.
Vergil also concluded that this man must be very old as he looked to be around his mid-30s when most elves usually looked to be around their mid 20's due to their long lives.
The man saw Vergil looking at him and formed a warm smile as he closed his book. "So, you're finally awake! My names Fenian, Fenian Balran." Vergil looked at him for a bit before finally replying. "My names Vergil, Vergil Stark." Vergil decided that making up the last name would make it look like he wasn't just some lone traveler and that he had some kind of family.
Although Vergil could of just straight up lied to Fenian and called himself Ichigo Kurosaki, he decided against it as he wanted Fenian to trust him since he seemed dependable.
Fenian smiled at Vergil once more before asking some questions. "I haven't seen you around here before and from the looks of it, you're an elf… a variation of the elf species too."
Vergil remained calm but became a bit worried, since Fenian seemed a little bit skeptical of him because of his appearance. As if noticing Vergil's worry, Fenian replied with, "Don't worry, I'm not hostile towards any variations, it's just that I've never seen an elf variant before. Also, your hair color is only commonly seen among the really old elders of the elf race...You don't happen to be an elder elf...right?"
Vergil shook his head as fast as he could, hoping that the man wouldn't become skeptical of him. Seemingly amused by Vergil's actions the man replied with a laugh and said, "Well, whatever you may be it doesn't matter as now you're in my home and I consider you my guest! Make yourself at home and if you have any questions just ask ahead!"
Vergil though for a bit before taking Fenian's invitation and asking him a question. "How did you find me while I was fighting the wolf?" Vergil had been wondering about this for a while as he had found no signs of other species such as elves on his way through the forest.
"Well, while I was making my daily hunts throughout the forest, I came across a large fire coming from the north. I thought it was a forest fire and immediately went to the area to try to put it out before coming across you and the Purple Flash fighting each other. I saw that the flames were created by you and decided not to help since you seemed to be able to control the flames effectively. I watched for a while before I saw you collapse from what I saw to be magic over-usage."
Vergil thought back to that time and realized that the fire must have caused some smoke to go up into the air while he was fighting. So, if anyone was in the surrounding area, they could have easily seen the smoke and thought it was some kind of fire before rushing to the area to try and put it out. Sighing and his actions, Vergil looked at Fenian who still had a smile on his face and finally asked, "So, what happened to the Purple Flash?"
Fenian continued showing his smile before replying with, "After you passed out, I shot him with a specially designed arrow of mine and managed to pin him down. Afterward, I killed him and brought you and him back to my little lodge."
"So that's what happened...wait you killed him?" Vergil said as he was kind of surprised that he managed to kill such an agile and stealthy creature. "Of course, once an animal loses mobility, unless they have some god-level strength or endurance, they can be easily killed. If you want I can teach you how to kill animals effectively, although...you seem to be a warrior and I'm not sure my teachings will help you much as I mainly use a bow."
Vergil formed a big smile as heard this piece of news. He had been training with a bow in hopes of being able to kill animals effectively, now that there was a seasoned user in front of him, he could learn so much more.
"No worries, I also use a bow and had been hoping to find someone to teach me as I'm still very inexperienced," Vergil said as his excitement grew by the second.
"Perfect! We'll begin training tomorrow then. For now, get yourself set up, I'll show you the Purple Flash's body once you're done."
Vergil formed a rare smile on his normally expressionless face and with a bow said, "Thank you! I promise I won't let you down!"
Fenian saw this and laughed as he got up. "No need to be so formal, from now on we're friends Vergil. Just think of this house as your house from now on. If you ever need anything come ask me." Fenian said this and made his way out of the lodge, leaving Vergil on his own to accommodate himself.
Vergil picked up his bag and made his way over to his new "room" where he laid down on the bed letting his thoughts overtake him. A few moments later, a new system notification popped up.

Vergil was happy at the fact that he had found a new friend in this world but frowned at the systems remark. "Of course I'm not gay! I even had a girlfriend in my previous life!"
