10 Him & Her Part 2

Xiao Hui's parents felt that there was no need for any further discussion on this topic. But Chen Chao still felt the need to ask one question to his daughter because he was expecting a different answer this time.

"Ahem", interrupted Chen Chao with a fake cough. "Hui-er, I will ask you this for the last time and I want you to answer me honestly from your heart after thinking about it carefully. Because even if you regret later, divorce will never be an option for a Li family member or you can choose to not be a Li in the future if it comes to a divorce.

So tell me, are you willing to get married to Xuan Juan Yu?"

"Yes", answered Xiao Hui loudly. "But let me first talk with Juan Yu in private."

"What new mess are you wanting to create now?", asked Nuwa skeptically.

"Mom, don't you believe me one bit. I am your daughter. You have already scolded me enough and even beaten me. Now, can you let go of today's matter, please?"

Nuwa looked at her daughter who's batting her eyelashes at her and giving her most spoiled smile and she answered somewhat pacified, "We will talk about it once the ceremony is over."

She looked at Chen Chao and pointed at the door with her face. The couple got up and left Xiao Hui's room leaving both of them alone.

Xiao Hui looked at Juan Yu who's sitting like an emperor and thought that he can really make any normal chair look like a throne.

Juan Yu was being observed and felt uncomfortable in his heart. His hands became sweaty and his throat got dry.

Feeling the changes in his mood, Xiao Hui decided not to tease him and start with a slow pace as today is already too much for him.

Xiao Hui got up and stood before Juan Yu, bowed to him and said, "Juan Yu, although I was trying to find you, it was still my mistake that led to this mess. I am sorry for today."

"I am really sorry for not trying to understand you all this time. If you can forgive me and still wants to marry me, I will be honored and promise to not let you down again." She again bowed to him.

"Please do not think of my decision as part of Bo Jing's plan or because of being heartbroken.", Xiao Hui continues to explain herself.

"Then why?", came a low but deep baritone voice from the person infront.

"Why not?", asked back Xiao Hui. She gave him a sweet smile and took his face in both of her hands and bent down to his eye level.

Juan Yu clenched his hands into fist.

"Juan Yu, I do not love Bo Jing anymore. Actually, now I really hate him for trying to use me.

I do not have anyone else I like.

My family thinks no one can be more suitable for me than you.

You are as handsome as a Greek God.

You are super rich and won't go bankrupt in this lifetime. So why not?", Xiao Hui said while staring at his eyes that are the most beautiful pair of eyes she has ever seen.

Xuan Juan Yu was processing every word and wanted to itch this memory in his mind forever.

"And yes, My Mom just said today that you love me as well?", Xiao Hui whispered gently in his ear.

"But that doesn't matter anymore. Even if you don't love me, you are stuck with me for a lifetime. I already marked my territory on you, remember?", continued Xiao Hui as Juan Yu's ear turned dark red.

He controlled his emotions and the fierceness in his eyes returned. Xiao Hui was taken aback by his sudden aggressiveness towards her.

He said in a low but clear voice, "You should continue your dream of being an actress, you almost fooled me. You definitely has your skills."

Hearing this, she understood in her heart that her sudden change will make him doubt her intentions. In her past life, she was very vocal about her dislike towards him. Now, her sudden change and acceptance is making him uneasy and he can't not doubt and believe her at once. But she still felt hurt when he vocalized his doubts.

Humans are strange. They want honesty but they want it sugar-coated with honey on a platter. This thought came from the one who's eavesdropping on them from behind the pillar. Just when he vocalized his thought, Juan Yu's sharp eyes turned towards the pillar and stayed there for a second before returning to Xiao Hui who has awkwardness written all over her face.

This awkward face amused Juan Yu quite a bit, but he didn't want to give in and believe in Xiao Hui's every word so that he won't be deceived with something that was unreal.

For him, he can get whatever he wants in this world, even Xiao Hui, he can get her as his wife but he can't get her heart. For her to be so proactive in accepting their marriage and even trying to be good to him, this is the first he's seen of Xiao Hui and it feels like an unreal dream. If Xiao Hui would have thrown her usual tantrum, insulted him and even tried to run away from him, he would've believed her in a second. Because that's what Xiao Hui does. But this Xiao Hui, who's eyes aren't dodging but are earnest is something that scared him. He's scared that he'll believe her and she'll then leave him after getting what she wants for Bo Jing.

'But atleast I can be worry free till I have what she wants. I will never let her leave me.', thought Xuan Juan Yu and stood up abruptly, fixed his coat and left.

Before going out of the door, he stopped and said without looking back, "I will send Li Jie in to give you a full check-up. If you feel good then get ready and come downstairs so that we can finish the ceremony. I have a meeting in two hours."
