6 Danger Pt.1

Sangmin and Miyoung really hit it off. By the time they're at the front of the line, it seems like they've been friends forever.

At the front of the line, there's a table where eunuchs are keeping record of who is entering the competition.

"Are you gonna enter both competitions?" Miyoung asks Sangmin.

Sangmin shrugs.

"I don't see why not."

"So both of you will be participating in the Hwarang competition as well as the competition to become a bodyguard of the princes." An eunuch asks.

Sangmin and Miyoung nod their heads.

"What are you're names?"

"I'm Kim Sangmin," Sangmin says pointing to himself, then gestures to Miyoung, "And that's my best friend Park Jun."

The eunuch scribbles their names onto a rather lengthy scroll, then hands them both wooden tags.

"Those are your room and food tickets. Make sure not to lose them because we can't spare anymore then we have already prepared."

Bogum and Miyoung nod.

Then Miyoung suddenly remembers something.

"Do you have a place where I could keep my horse?"

The eunuch glances curiously at Miyoung.

"Why didn't you leave your horse at home?

Sangmin throws an arm over Miyoung's shoulder jumping into the conversation to help her out.

"My friend is from the countryside, and has traveled far to take part in this competition. I would've let him keep his horse at my house, but he just arrived today, so there was no time to take the horse to my house. We had to stand in line and we knew that if we left the line then we wouldn't be able to participate in the competition since there is a limited number of spots."

The eunuch nods, and calls a servant over.

"Take this horse to the stable."

The servant nods taking Gosaeng's reins into his hands.

"Wait," Miyoung says.

Reaching into her saddlebag she brings out the bag which contains the white cloth and her extra hanbok.

"You can take him away now," the eunuch says.

Nodding, the servant leads Gosaeng towards the stables.

"Tomorrow, you'll both take part in the first round of the bodyguard competition. Then shortly after, you'll go to the palace's courtyard to participate in the first round for selecting those worthy to be Hwarang. Good luck."

Sangmin and Miyoung bow, to show their gratitude, then enter the palace grounds.

After much wandering, the two finally find the room that had been prepared for them.

Sangmin, takes off the outer layer of his hanbok, and throws himself onto the bed.

"Why don't you go wash up first Jun? I'll wash up after I finish my nap."

Miyoung nods.

"I'll wash up first then."

Taking her bag with the white cloth and her extra hanbok, Miyoung goes into the bathing room which is adjacent to their room. Closing the door behind her, Miyoung drags a chair and places it under the handle. After making sure that there was no possible point of entry from outside, she cautiously takes off her clothes and sinks into the water that has been prepared.

Sighing, she thinks about Death's words.

['The bracelet will help you find the one you must kill.']

Fingering the bracelet, Miyoung sinks deep into thought.

[It didn't give any bit of heat off when I was walking around today. Maybe he hasn't entered the palace yet.]

Grabbing the one of the towels of the stool, Miyoung dries herself off, and puts on her clothes. She then opens the door, going back into the room she shares with Sangmin.

Placing her clothes by her bed, she shouts over her shoulder.

"Sangmin, it's you're turn to wash up."

Getting no reply, Miyoung turns to face Sangmin. He has the blankets over his head.

Slightly concerned, Miyoung goes to Sangmin's side. Once she reaches his side, she lifts the covers.

Miyoung screams.

Her scream wakes the other young men participating in the competition as well as several eunuchs. Everyone gathers outside her room, to see what all the commotion is about.

Someone opens the door.

"What's wrong," they ask.

Miyoung points to Sangmin, who's lying on the bed.

One of the young men goes over to Sangmin's side, and gasps.

"He's dead."
