1 #Chapter 1(The beginning of one's journey)

(Note: Flaws and mistakes are bound to be made. And such I do hope that dear readers could point it out for me)
(My very first book here and the writing isn't that great.)

The unhurriedly dripping sound of the rain gradually engulfed the whole peaceful forest.
As those birds flocked about to their nest in a hurried manner all over the sky.
The murky clouds brought about their dark shade from the horizon, enveloping the whole plain with a sense of gloom as the creatures below slowly fled free looking for shelters.
About in a small crack situated inside a lush majestic tree.
A small egg the size of a fist quietly sat there on the warm bird-like nest.
Filled all around it with dried leaves, leaving the egg with sufficient warmth to heat it during this rain.
To describe the egg in detail, the color itself was painted dark red with oddly weird patterns all around it.
Giving off a sense of abnormal especially the fiery red aura that this egg was emitting.
the interior of this crack was relatively medium in size with 50cm in diameter while the top of this space appeared to be drilled a bit.
Leaving up there with some scattered small gaps.
Surely there won't be any mishaps in this natural engineering?.
The rain that dropped onto the overgrown tree gradually flowed its way down onto the glossy green leaves as it continued downwards into some of the small gaps.
Pouring through as it fell downwards like a flowing river.
Eventually, the water fell into the nest as it overflowed within seconds.
Luckily the egg was in the nucleus of this nest as the water hardly crammed the space around it, making a circle.
Some of the dried leaves were flooded with water while the others still retained their bright color.
Creating a clear contrast between the middle and the outer ring area.
But of course, a small amount of water managed to trickle its way onto the egg... and thus making those soft clicking noises.
Knocking the softshell of the egg with a saying of hello from mother nature itself.
*click* *click* *click*
*drips!*
"Mhmm.?"
"who's there?... wait..what's that sound?..."
"Wait... where am I?..."
As if to be awakened by a soft touch of a woman.
A young man's voice could be heard echoing inside an unknown medium.
And as to be guessed, a small creature was presently huddled up inside this anomaly.
"this?...what is this place? "
"why is it so dark?..."
" mom?!. Dad?!!... "
"what is happening here!?"
Slowly drifting my gaze around this space of darkness. I slowly realized that I'm unable to speak or feel my hands.
As if they had disappeared.
A surge of panic flooded my tiny mind as I screamed hysterically... but to no avail.
Not a single sound managed to pass through my nonexistent vocal chord... unfeeling and horrible.
"What is happening?!!!"
"Someone help! hey!! someone, please help me!"
I screamed as loud as I possibly could but surely I was merely wasting my time by attempting the pointless.
This was because I am too caught up in my daily misconception that my life would persist the same as the day before.
Not knowing that a large upheaval had already occurred within my reality.
Seemingly confused I quickly tried moving my body within this space of darkness.
But how?... like I had previously found out before... I couldn't even feel my body!.
But soon I figured it out, it was not a nonexistent feeling but it was gradually appearing... from the numb state into a bright touch of my body.
As time passed by more and more I finally felt it. My body started to move according to my will.
Surely if one's wishes so with his sheer will... then nothing is impossible in this life.
I tumbled my body with haste from left to right as I repeated it many times.
I felt that by each time I'm doing so... my skin was in contact with a soft yet hard feeling texture surrounding me.
*crack* *crack* crack*
"It's slowly breaking up..."
"More! just a little bit more then I'm free!"
I impatiently mumbled...
*Tumbles* *tumbles *tumbles*
*CRACKED!*
"Woah!?"
As if to be expelled from something.
I immediately flung my way out ferociously into the unknown as I dived in headfirst.
*bang!* *splash!*
"right?..."
"What is this? water? wait... Water!!!?"
I screamed in panic as I tried unwrapping my eyes...
And soon enough I finally unfolded my tiny gaze...
Looking around the giant yellowish wall and the oddly murky water filled with dried branches all around.
"What's happening here!... "
"Where am I!?"
I couldn't calm myself any longer after discerning this new place that held not even the slightest resemblance to my bedroom.
"Help!! is anyone there! help!!!"
*Hissed* *hissed!* *hissed*?
I yelled once again but this time the sound that I was hoping for to come out of my mouth differed itself with oddly hissing noises.
*Hissed?*
Listening to this unusual noise...
I quickly drifted my gaze about to the surrounding area.
Searching for the so-called hissing noises with alert and also fear...
And finally...
Moments later my gaze ultimately dropped down onto the floor.
Meeting with a clear and transparent water surface. Reflecting on a small snake the size of a walnut looking back into the water with curiosity.
"That's me!"
I shrieked in panic as my eyes broadened in terror!.
"I'm a snake!. wait... what!!?
As of now, I was so confused about what was happening.
But out of instinct, I seemed to be able to move around freely in the water.
My slender body zigzagged around and thus I barely got a grasp of myself from losing it...
"Yesterday was the worst day in my life and now what is this?!. Just how much must I suffer!!! from that life into an even worse one like this!!!"
(Congratulations to the host for successfully integrating with the system)
Out of nowhere... a robotic voice suddenly materialized inside my head.
As I was not adept at the abrupt voice. I immediately curled up against my body and plopped my head inside the water.
"Good lord... what is wrong with this place... just now I found that I'm a snake. Now a weird voice suddenly appeared inside my head!... what is going on!"
(Ding! Answering back to the host. This system does not comprehend host instruction. Please elaborate more.)
"W-wait?... a system?... "
(Ding... yes the host is correct. I am a system)
Seemingly to realize what was occurring.
I slowly swam out from the water onto the dried leaves area. As I attempted to comprehend my current circumstances.
"S-so you are saying that..."
"I have a system?... and that is you?"
(Ding. yes the host is correct)
"But why... "
"Like why do you exist? and why am I here?!!"
(Ding answered back to the host. This system is a heavenly body created by the nothingness of everything. Creations themselves are under this system while the boundary between Logical and illogical doesn't apply to this system. This system exists outside of (creation).)
"This???.... what are you talking about!"
"I asked you why am I here!!!"
" Tell me!!!!"
Hearing this absurd explanation...
I quickly yelled in anger at this mysterious voice.
What absurd nonsense were those!!!...
(Ding... host please calm down. With this system's presence in the host previous world...
Host life had been saved and brought into this new world with a brand new body.)
"W-what! that doesn't explain anything that I wanted to know!"
"I want to know what had happened to me?... what do you mean by the previous world?!"
"Ding... the host died because of a heart attack"
"T-this?... I-!"
"Host arteries were clogged... preventing the natural order system of the host body from functioning and thus leading to death"

A brief silence filled the entire space as my eyes widened in shock from hearing those words.
"I died?..."
(Ding... yes the host is correct.)
"..."
Now that I had learned of my death from the system.
A burst of sadness flared inside my small heart. Knowing that I won't be able to return home and also not be able to see my parents, from now on.
I had sinned...
I left them behind without asking for forgiveness.
I'm the worst. Tears started to drip about on my scaly skin as my heart tightened in grief and disbelief.
'I... died...'
I slowly slithered my way into the middle of this nest as I huddled up my tiny body into a circle.
This was the only way that I could find the very last bit of warmth that I am urgently lacking.
"Leave me alone for now... I need some time for myself"

Hours departed by...
I slowly opened my eyes as I gazed dumbly toward the uneven wooden ceiling.
Recollecting those memories from before that still lingered inside my mind.
"I died... huh"
*Sigh*
'sigh... being a snake is not that bad I think...'
I secretly thought inside my heart.
"Now that I'm alive once again, I need to behave accordingly to survive, or else I'm gonna be a drilled paste if I'm not careful enough."
"It was hard enough to survive in that tainted world back then... and now in a forest? surely it is 1000 times harder. At the very least there won't be those disturbing human"
"Hey, system...what can you do to assist me? like what's your function?"
(Ding replying to the host... this system can assist the host in every apparent way to make the host more powerful.)
(Ding... the host can attain evolution points through killing or devouring other living beings no matter what species they are.)
(The host also can acquire skills but currently, the store is limited to the host's present world limitation as to balance the natural order of this world.)
" I see...so like any other system. I have a personal panel, right? being able to observe my current condition would be crucial."
(Ding... yes the host is correct. does the host like to open the personal panel?)

As I was contemplating my next move.
I vaguely caught a glimpse of a small scampering creature inside the tiny crack entrance.
It was a small cockroach. Small enough to be my first victim!.
Without hesitation, my body instantly sprang forward towards the tiny bug as I unfolded my mouth in haste mid-air.
*plop*!
I successfully snapped it inside my mouth. I hurriedly swallowed it into my abdomen but the flavor that came next killed me!.
"Ding. Gained 10 evolution points"
"parghh!?...it tasted like shit! parghh!!."
"ughhh.. even so, it barely provided me 10 points. I mean I'm not aiming to be greedy but with that kind of taste, I would rather dip my head inside a public kid pool. and brushed it off with a knife... "
"Now... should I just stay at the entrance for more bugs? it looks like the cockroach from before was attempting to avoid the rain.
"And I'm pretty sure the other tiny bug would perform the same thing."
" Yeah, I should just wait here for today. it is my first day after all. No need to tighten my pace. "
after determining my next move.
I just lingered quietly in front of the entrance as I laid my body lazily on the ground.
Maybe in this life, I can be a legendary salted fish.
