25 Sugar Queen (9)

After telling the Tan family that we were going out for dinner, the two of us then proceed to go to a small dumpling restaurant. When I told Tan ZiHe that I knew of a great restaurant that sells the most delicious dumplings and soup, he agreed to take me. Sitting down we order our food and drinks, and then I excused myself to go to the restroom. I waited for a few minutes so my intended event will breed success.

*Flashback*

While in the car, I asked Momo about the female lead, 'Tell me, is Fan MeiLi still planning to have to dumplings for dinner.'

[Yes, even if she was hurt earlier she made a promise with her friend and she isn't one to break her word, dear host.]

Smiling, 'That's great Momo! I'm so happy that I can rely on the female lead being predictable.' I told Momo.

Leaving the restroom, I took a peek around the corner and saw the female lead enter the shop with her friend. Just as fate would have it the host lead the duo to a table right next to ours, completely shocking the duo.

Believing it was time to enter the scene I walked out in An Su Mei's proud aura and a clear smile on my face. When Tan ZiHe saw me even when he had a calm face I could see the small panic in his eyes about my entrance. 'Oh dear husband, you don't need to feel guilty because you are close to your soulmate.' I thought sitting down.

As soon as Fan MeiLi saw me fully she let out a gasp, "Ah, it's you!" Fan MeiLi said. Turning to look at the person, I had a disinterested look on my face, "Oh, you." I said in a calm voice. Tan ZiHe hearing the exchange gave me a confused stare and I just smiled at him.

"I happened to meet this lady earlier, she was having some trouble and I helped her out," I said. Looking at her wrist, "I didn't know you hurt your wrist when you fell, are you alright?" I asked with worry in my voice.

Shaking her head with a slight blush, "I'm fine! Really! I just had a little mishap at work." Fan MeiLi said. Nodding my head, I finally decided to free Tan Zi He from all the questions that have been rolling in his head. Tapping the table, "Zi He Ge, are you all right?" I asked.

Clearing his throat, "I'm fine, I was just a little surprise that you have met Miss Fan." He stated.

"Miss Fan? Do you two know each other?"

"Miss Fan is a new employee in my creative department at my company. I just happen to meet her when she delivered some files earlier today." Tan Zi He said.

Letting out a 'hmm', I didn't ask any more question when seeing my food arrive. I could tell there was a weird tension in the air with my silence but I ignored the trio and focused on my dumplings. One thing I loved about coming to these different worlds, I could have my fill of delicious and new food.

Tan ZiHe's PoV

When An Su Mei told me that she wanted to go to such a small dumpling restaurant I was surprised by her words. I knew Su Mei since she was young and her family has only enjoyed the finer things of society, so when would she have eaten at such a small-scale place.

Waiting for her to return from the restroom, I looked on my phone when I heard music to my ears. Looking up I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw Fan MeiLi walking toward the table next to ours. When our eyes met both of us froze in shock, I wanted to say something but then I heard heels clicking on the floor.

I was about to explain to Su Mei but was interrupted by the gasps of Miss Fan, and then I became, even more, confused when the two stated they knew each other. After answering some questions from Su Mei, I expected for more but she stayed silent throughout the dinner. I couldn't help taking glances at Fan MeiLi and my heart couldn't stop beating.

It was like fate was playing a cruel hand toward me by drawing this petite blonde in my path. By each meeting it made me see Miss Fan in a much clearer light. But when I thought about An Su Mei I felt conflicted, especially since we now are known as a married couple.

After finishing our meal, the two of us got up to leave but was stopped by Fan MeiLi. "Wait! Mr. and Mrs. Tan, I still wanted to ask you about something." She said hurriedly.

Seeing us stop and look at her Miss Fan walked over, "Mrs. Tan, you helped me earlier and I really wish to make it up to you." "I told you before that it's not necessary." "Please!" Fan MeiLi said holding her hands to her heart.

The delicate look and sincere eyes made my heart melt, glancing at Su Mei, "How about you let her do as she please, it couldn't hurt, right?" I said.

An Su Mei started at me then gave me a confusing warm smile, "Fine, what do you want?" She said to Fan MeiLi.
