16 Safe In His Embrace (Edited)

'Ring -- ring --- ring', the school bell sounded, announcing the end of the exam.

The Teacher collected the papers and left the class. As soon as the teacher was gone, the students gathered together to discuss the questions and what everyone got as the answers. Chen Ai went over to Yue Wan, smiling in happiness. "Let's have a treat at that new patisserie cafe near our school," she said as her eyes were shooting stars over at Yue Wan.

Yue Wan smiled a helpless smile and laughed at her friend. "You gluttonous piglet, the only thing on your mind is food!"

Chen Ai puffed her cheeks out in a pout. "Come on, it's hard to get a reservation there."

Yue Wan and Chen Ai left the classroom while Wei Wan glaring daggers at them. 'This bitch, today I will teach her a lesson on getting in my way'. However, her plans were interrupted by a message from her mother.

'From Mom: Come home, he is angry.'

Wei Wan looked at Yue Wan and Chen Ai as they walk out happily while she was there at her desk, knowing the beating she would receive when she got home. Life was really not fair for some days.

'From Wei Wan: Ok.'

--- At the Yue family home --

After pacifying Little Spring with lots of sweets, she bought some pastries for her father and brother and returned home before 6 pm.

Upon entering her home, she saw Uncle Wang at the entrance. "Young Miss you're back," he said as he slightly bowed to her.

"Uncle Wang, where are a daddy and big brother?" she asked as soon as she walked inside. Letting the new maid take her bag, she took the box of pastries to the kitchen.

Uncle Wang followed Yue Wan and said, "Young Master said he will be late and Master Yue will be here at any moment."

"Alright then, please let me know when daddy is back. I need to freshen up." Yue Wan walked up the stairs to her room after she placed the treats in the fridge for later. Right after her bath, she heard her dad's voice coming up from downstairs. "Looks like daddy is back," she said to herself as she wore her nightshirt and went down to greet him.

In the hall, Uncle Wang was trying to appease the old Master, yet he was failing. Now only the Young Miss could save them. "That brat makes me travel around while he is planning to steal my little Wan! I will teach him a lesson today if it is the last thing I do." Yue Yeager was throwing a fit nonstop, enraged that he could not help his daughter when she needed it.

"Daddy! You're back!" Yue Wan said as she came downstairs with a beautiful smile on her face.

Yue Yeager felt blessed by this beautiful scene and it made him forget about that cunning rascal. "My Little Wan! How was your day at school? Did you miss daddy?"

Yue Wan grinned with a wide smile. "Daddy, today I took the exam seriously and I missed you a lot," she said as she walked into her father's arms. She always felt safer in her father's embrace.

Yue Yeager gleamed in joy. "Only Little Wan cares about daddy and that sneaky brat made daddy go around and around the city like 20 times! Look at my poor back! It was bruised all over by sitting in the car all day."

Yue Wan sighed at his antics. "Don't be mad anymore... how about we eat your favorite pastry? Ok?" she asked as she looked over at the kitchen staff. "Please prepare a tasty feast today."

Yue Wan then turned back to her dad and suggested that he a quick moment to freshen up and go to the dining room while she went to the kitchen and oversaw the dinner preparations.

The dinner conversation was filled with Yue Wan reporting on the things that happened at school, while on the other hand, Yue Yeager guessed from her talk that some teachers are against his daughter taking the exams.

After dinner, Yue Yeager ate his dark chocolate cake well given the fact that Yue Wan was feeding him. He foolishly smiling at everyone in delight as he basked in his daughter's attention. 'Look! Look! My princess is feeding me!' his smile seemed to say. Uncle Wang and some old staff were happy for both father and daughter.

"Daddy, does big brother know Xiao Ran?" Yue Wan asked choosing her words carefully.

"Xiang went to school at WAX so they might have met at some point in time, but some of my buddies say that Princess Xiao is quite bossy and has a bad temper," said Yue Yeager as his phone started to ring. Excusing himself, he got up and went to his study, taking the rest of the cake with him.

Yue Wan's face showed a look of disbelief and terror. 'Princess Xiao!'

Uncle Wang looked at her face startled and asked her, "Young Miss, is there a problem?"

Yue Wan concealed her thoughts and asked about the Xiao family. "Uncle Wang, do you know about the Xiao family?"

Uncle Wang didn't doubt her intention so he freely answered her questions. "Well, they are an old traditional family with family branches everywhere. The Xiao Empire was built during the World War and the First Empire of the family was General Xiao Hua. They have established their power in every field and are one of the top important shareholders in Sky Avenue Technology. The current head of the Empire is Princess Xiao."

Yue Wan asked him in a hurry, "That's it."

Uncle Wang found his Young Miss interested in the Xiao family and thought that there might be a problem. "Should I check something for you?" he asked

Yue Wan controlled her eagerness, "No, no... It's ok, I feel tired all of a sudden. I will be in my room."

Yue Wan slowly made it to her room with lots of things going on in her mind. 'No one knows about Him,' she said to herself, her mind in chaos about what that could mean.

--- In the Xiao Family--

When Grandfather Xiao got Aunt Yu's message he packed his work up and returned home late that night. As she said in his message Xiao Ran had prepared dinner. She was not that good at cooking, but it could be considered to be edible, just like Yue Xiang's comment. Xiao Ran lost her parents in a plane accident. They were never able to find the bodies of the deceased, so after that, Grandpa Xiao took care of her until she was old enough to be tossed into Military training. She still held a grudge to this day for doing that to her. "Grandpa you're back," Xiao Ran welcomed him warmly.

Grandpa Xiao nodded his head and got straight to the point, "Did you find out who?"

Xiao Ran exhaled some air and said, "Can't you at least pretend to be caring? It has been two years since I was last home..."

Grandpa Xiao looked at her with a blank face, "..." < 3 baby chicks walking in line>.

Xiao Ran facepalmed, "Forget it, let's go to your study."

Inside the room, Grandpa Xiao sat down in his chair and looked through the information placed before him. "Is everything alright in school?"

"Everything is fine, but I found that some staff are abusing their authority," Xiao Ran said as she sat leisurely, taking a sip from her cup of coffee.

"Did he contact you?" Grandpa gazed at her in amusement.

Xiao Ran was so close in splashing her drink. "Are you concerned about your pupil?"

"Is that girl Miss Yue?" he asked as he took a picture from the file sitting in front of him.

"Isn't she the cutest? I really wish I could Cosplay with her. How come the devil has her as his Little sister?!? Life is so unfair!" Xiao Ran's inner voice was finally let out with grumpiness.

"At the base, they teach you to Cosplay?" a majestic voice appeared out of the shadows.
