First Guest

I woke up by the ringing of my phone, I didn't use the darn thing in a long time. It even sounded weird. After uprising having food and water was an unbelievable thing for humans, Who the heck cared about keeping a phone. I picked it up without looking at the caller.

"Hello, Who the fu*k is calling at this ungodly hours?" I said in a really rude tone hoping the other side to hang up.

"Is this how you talk to you only friend? I'm hurt, my heart is breaking here. Sniffle, sniffle."

This gave me a jolt, this is the voice that I haven't heard in a long Time. And his death was the one that weighed on my soul heavier then anything in this world. My best friend died protecting us, the thought brought tears to my eyes.

"You are not my only friend Jake, don't let Paige here you. She might kill you for such a capital offence." I replied.

"Nah, she won't kill me, she might hit me a few times with her scrawny hands but that is all she is going to do. So wanna hang out today have lunch, watch movie like before. It's been a while, I'm missing you guys like hell." He said in a really creepy voice. It would have been sweet if some girl said it, but on him it gave me goosebumps.

"Why not, sure. Is Paige coming? Let's meet at usual place for lunch. Gotta go, bye. See you there." I agreed. Because for me it's really a long time since I have seen them.

"Yeah she is coming. Bye, be there on time." And call dropped. I looked at my phone and plugged it in for charging.

I got out of my bed, did my daily hygiene routine and decided to go down to tell my mother about my plans for today. I might never meet my friends again in future for their safety. So I wanted to enjoy today with them. I was still on stairs when bell rang and my mother went to open the door. I just sat there on stairs because I didn't wanted to meet anyone before knowing who is at the door and at this angle no one will be able to see me in sitting area and I can hear the conversation too.

It was a woman who was talking to my mother. "How are you Anna?"

"I'm alright, Elder what can I do for you?" Mom

"I'm sure you know that someone lost control of magic near your house Anna, you should have felt it. So witch council decided that I should talk to you about that. Do you know perhaps who was it that used the magic." The Elder lady said.

"Yes, I know Elder who it was, I was there with here." Mom said.

"So?" Elder lady inquired.

"So what Elder?" Ahh my mother is so cute, she is purposely being vague.

"So Who was it Anna? You know we can't let dangerous witches roam around freely if,..."

She was cut by my mother, "It was a healing spell and you of all people should know that humans don't feel the surge of magic."

"But that was really powerful magic and you didn't tell me who it was?" I think the Elder lady is annoyed now.

"It was my daughter Elder and that was her first spell. It was my mistake I forgot to tell her to open the barrier slowly. Luckily she had decided to learn healing magic first otherwise it would have been difficult to handle?" My mother explained.

I decided it's time to go down and meet the first witch (other then me and my mother) of my life. I enter the sitting area and whined, "Mom I'm hungry, where is my breakfast."

"Come here and say hello, this is one of the Elder of witch council. You might meet frequently in the future." Mother said with a glare at me.
