Books

Now I wanted to just take the books and leave for home right away.

"Umm... I want the basic ones, you know like history and magic basics." I said.

"Dear, why do you want basics? Didn't Your mother taught you all the basics?" She said frowning.

I sighed heavily, "My mother never told me about her being a witch so I'm actually really a Newbie in supernatural community. I don't know a damn thing and how good my mother is with communication, you can see it by looking at my magic. She could have at least told me about my magic leaking out and you are already the second person to tell me that." I think I have shrieked the last two sentence. Oh no the librarian might think that I'm a banshee. Wait, I don't even know if they are real or not.

Now she is looking at me with sympathy. Like I lost my mind.

"Dear which history do you want?" She waved her hand an a few books flew to her.

"What do you mean? I thought only witches books are available here." I looked confused and she looked at me like I'm a lost puppy.

"No dear, we have history of all races, their introduction and all,.... Oh dear, wait I'll prepare everything basic for you." She waved her hand and a few more books flew towards her desktop.

I heaved another deep sigh and asked, "How long is the borrowed period and what are the plenties if the book got misplaced or...." the librarian was looking at me like I have second head. Then she looked angry and my eyes got so wide that they can resemble plates.

"That mother of yours is the most irresponsible person I have ever met. She never told you anything. Believe me I get my hands on her now I'll beat her behind over my knees." I think she was going to hyperventilate.

"Take deep breath. Breathe in, breathe out. Slowly don't get you blood pressure high." If witches do get high blood pressure. She took deep breaths and started to explain it to me.

"You don't have to be worried about ware and tare of the books because they are not real books. They are just the magically duplicated copies. Magically duplicating them helps with the preservation of original books. The borrowing period is a month, after a month books will disappear automatically."

Ok that sound reasonable. Then I looked at the books and my eyes bulged. There were nine books and really thick ones how am I going take them home. I might need a cart or a truck. As if she knew what I was thinking, she face palmed like she was in so much in pain.

"You have your mother's card so the books will be delivered to your house magically. They probably reach your house before you." If the books can be delivered home then why can't I ordered them on the phone it can save time which already don't have much. So I made a very innocent lost puppy face and looked at her.

"You know I just got my powers and didn't come of age yet. In about 12 days is my coming of age party, according to my werewolf friend it's going to be big and I don't know anything about anything. My mother never told me anything about her being a witch. But I'm very good at ready I might finish these in like 3 days. So can you send the next batch of books to my house." I pleaded.

She huffed, "You and your mother both have same tricks. Since I know I can't leave it to your mother to educate you so I'll help you. But how do I know that you need next batch?" I beamed at her with a wide smile.

"Do you have have phone let's exchange numbers. I'll give you a call when I need them. You know you are like the coolest witch I have met up until now. I met the Elder lady but I kinda didn't like her much. She likes to order people around even those that are not even under her." I said to her in hush hush gossipy tone.which made her laugh. After we exchanged numbers and she stopped laughing, she said.

"I just can't wait to drop this bomb on her stiff ass. You are a delight dear, good for my heart. Now go on your books will be at your home when you reach there."

I told her to take care of herself and left for home. Thank god I didn't have to wander around in the library to get my books and only one ghost, others were wandering in the library but didn't come near the desk. I'm sure it's because of the librarian. I hope I never have to step foot inside that library again.
