12 Chapter 12: Temporary Shelter

Leaving the school ground, she was making her way to her part-time job. She was lucky since her part-time job was near the school. She was humming a tone.

'Master, what are you doing to do if your boss could not help you?' The question from Bo Ya made her stop.

'Well, I have some money on me right now. I will rent a small room.' She nodded.

After a few minutes, she arrived at her part-time job. A small restaurant. She remembered in her past life, within 2 years of leaving this town, this restaurant went down due to the decrease of their customers.

"Yu Qi, what are you doing here? This restaurant has not opened yet." Yu Qi had been greeted by someone.

A warm smile appeared on her lips. She was the owner of this restaurant and also her boss, Madam Sheng Tan Hua. She felt her tears flow when she saw her boss. "Boss." She hugged her boss while she cried. She did not care about what people would think about her behaviour.

Meanwhile, Madam Shen was a little bit lost when suddenly being hugged by Yu Qi. Seeing that this child was crying badly, she patted Yu Qi's back. After a moment, Yu Qi started to stop crying.

Madam Sheng invited her into her restaurant. Yu Qi did not know why she started to cry. Maybe because after being reborn, she put a guard up against her enemy. When she saw her boss, who was the one who treated her kindly in her past life, her nerves became relaxed.

"Yu Qi, drink this." Madam Sheng gave her a mug containing hot chocolate. Yu Qi took a mug and had a slip of it.

"Tell me what happened to you." Madam Sheng gave a warm look like a mother would give to her child.

"Boss, can I live at your house for a while?" She begged her boss.

"I have no problem with it but your family would be worried about it."

"No. They won't. They would not be worried about me." She sneered.

"You should not say that. They are your family. How could they not worry about you?"

"Because I'm not their child. I was adopted." Her hand made a fist.

Yu Qi's statement made Madam Sheng shocked. She never thought Yu Qi was their adopted daughter. The Wang Family move into the town 10 years ago. At that time, they already had their kids. So no one knew about her being an adopted daughter.

"How did you know that?" Madam Sheng asked.

"Last night, I heard them talking about it. She said, 'We have to wait for another 4 years until we can cut her off from our family. It's for our safety.' No wonder, they never gave me family love. No wonder, they treat me like a slave." She bites her lips.

Madam Sheng took pity on her. "Then you can stay here. We do have an empty room right now. It's my daughter's room. Right now, she is out of town."

"Really boss? Thank you, boss. I will look for another room later." Yu Qi felt happy. She told her the truth but a little bit lie.

"Go, rest now. Take your time off today." Madam Sheng ordered.

"Yes, boss."
