49 Chapter 49. A door to Nahia Gardens

Evan looked back and spoke out with gentle soft tone "Let's go."

Aeinshia was amazed. No, that would be an understatement, she was beyond stunned. She didnt expect this. At all.

The door opened to reveal Nahia gardens. It seemed like they practically teleported here from the hard and intimidating walls of the Palace to the nature created by Evan for her.

But, like the first they didnt come across jasmine flowers. They directly came into plum and cherry blossoms area. The scent immediately invaded in her senses.

The fresh smell of freshly blossomed cherry blossoms and the ripe plums was heavy in the atmosphere. The wind was light and flowed in the garden, swaying the trees in the process. The wind was carrying the soft petals of cherry blossoms and they flowed freely, like no care in the world.

The moon was just rising and in the middle of being at the horizon and high in the sky. It was casting a soft light in the garden. The atmosphere was soft and had a calming effect in it.

It was almost intoxicating and the both lovers found themselves relaxing at the scent and the sight before them. The path was still covered by the fallen petals of the cherry blossoms, making the two to wall on the path.

Evan released Aeinshia's hand, so not to make her uncomfortable. Evan and Aeinshia walked beside each other, basking in the calming atmosphere and enjoying the little warmth their bodies were emitting.

They were not holding hands, but they were walking close to each other, their hands brushing occasionally while they continued their silent walk. Nobody said anything, trying to enjoy the happy and calm bubble surrounding them.

Aeinshia was afraid of cutting this kind of moment with her words. Her heart was not allowing her to ask anything, while her mind was demanding her to ask Evan about her suspicions.

Aeinshia was completely lost in her internal battle and walked slowly while looking up at the moon. Evan, who was also thinking, looked to see Aeinshia's face. The sight he saw made his mind stop for a minute.

Aeinshia looked ethereal. Unreal, almost. The soft full moon light casted on her delicate, yet strong features. Her loose hair was swaying slightly in the cool breeze. Her little fringes were not able to decide whether to stay behind ear or fall on her face.

Her light cream color robes were perfect for her and they shined under the light. The little jewellery attached to the robes were shining when she took a step, giving her a godly aura . She looked like the moon goddess herself is walking along the path of cherry blossoms.

Her eyes were glazed and were strictly focused on the moon in the sky. The light reflecting on them, making them look like the most purest things in the world. She was just so perfect and Evan couldn't even bat his eyes seeing such a sight before him.

Well, anybody would stop in their tracks if they her beauty right now. Evan just wanted to hold her close to his heart. He can see this very sight for his entire life, without blinking. He snapped out of his staring when he heard a rustle in the bushes nearby.

He snapped his neck fast and saw a small squirrel was making its way to its home in a tree with a ripe plum it plucked. Aeinshia, too peered she saw Evan turn towards something.

She smiled softly towards the squirrel, suddenly Evan turned around and they were now facing each other. Both fixed their gazes on each others faces and took in their moonlit features and marked deep in their hearts.

Suddenly, all the events flooded in to their minds and almost at the same time, both of them looked away and tried to cover their blushing faces.

Evan looked in front of him and saw they were at the lake. He looked towards Aeinshia, who making her was to the small bridge over the lake. He didnt know what she was doing and just silently followed her.

Aeinshia stopped walking when she was at the center of the bridge and turned to her side, walking towards the iron railing. When she was a step away from the railing, she gently lifted her robes to remove her shoes.

Her bare feet made contact with the hard wood below and she flexed her toes a bit, loving the freedom from the icky shoes. She then sat on the bridge and propped her feet in the water below the bridge.

Evan just observed her every move, not mnowing what she was doing. When Aeinshia was finally situated comfortably on the bridge she looked up to Evan, who was staring at her from the end of the bridge. She smiled softly and patted the space beside her, signaling him sit beside her.

Evan walked up to her like a lost puppy and removed his shoes hastily and sat beside her, propping his feet into the calm water. Evan hissed slightly, when his bare feet made contact with calm still water. Aeinshia let out a giggle at his reaction and Evan simply smiled seeing that he was able to make it appear on her face.

Aeinshia again looked up to the sky, her feet swaying in the water, making the water ripple at the action. Evan too, unconsciously mirrored her action, but looked at her face. Suddenly, her noticed the creeping sadness onto her face. His heart clenched at the sight, thinking it was because of him.

He knew Aeinshia had a lot of questions in her mind about everything. He knew she was was basically dying to ask them, but he also knew she couldnt ask it. He knew she was scared to ask him, thinking she would offend him or something. Aeinshia maybe curious, but she was worried she would or offend Evan by asking this.

But, Evan didnt know what question were running through head and he couldn't directly tell her everything. He was too insecure for his own good.

He sighed thinking they are one hell of an awkward couple.

Evan thought how to make her comfortable with him and assure her she can ask anything without hesitation. He dropped his head and his eyes fell on her hands, laying lazily on her lap. His eyes twinkled as an idea came into his mind. He just hopes this one works out.

He slowly faced the front and angled his head to see the same sight of the sky as Aeinshia. He lifted his hand and placed it gently on her hand. Aeinshia looked down at her hand at the sudden contact and then looked at the side profile of Evan in confusion.

Evan looked at her face, his eyes reassuring and held love towards her. He silently squeezed her hand and nodded his head a bit with a soft smile on his face.

Aeinshia understood, what he was trying to do. Tears welled up in her eyes, seeing this side of Evan. Never in her life did she think she would ever experience such moment with Evan.

Then she did the unexpected, which made Evan go into panic mode for a bit.

Aeinshia squeezed Evan's hand back and laid her head on his broad shoulder, letting out an heavy breath. They stayed in the position, until Evan started to relax a bit.

Aeinshia spoke out softly, still maintaining her position, close to Evan.

"Evan, What are we?"

Evan blinked a few times, not sure what to speak. He was never in this type of situation and honestly, thought he would never be in this situation.

What was he going to say? Will he improve their relationship? Or would he break Aeinshia's heart with his words?
