42 Chapter 42. Emperor's order

The both boys raced up the grand staircase of the Palace. Some guards were also following them. Evan being in lead, raced towards the Emperor's chambers. It took about a couple of minutes to reach and the guards who stood there bowed down to the prince. Evan mostly ignored and proceeded to barge in to the chambers, while others stayed out.

Felix and Emperor Alexander were in serious discussion, witht he papers scattered around them and with concentrated look on their faces, when Evan barged into the room, panting heavily. The uncle and nephew looked up and Felix eyes went wide. Alexander eyed his son curiously for his sudden presence. Evan never came to him chambers unless he was requested of his presence. And by the expression on his face he knew there was something wrong or extremely serious matter.

Alexamder stood up and approached his son but, stopped when he was good three feet away from him. Evan bent and placed his hands on his knees and regained his breath. He looked up and saw his father standing infront of him, with his hands locked behind his back. Felix also slowly approached and stood behind Alexander with curious face.

"City Belgonia...." Evan started, but trailed off after taking the city's name. He needed to explain it from the start. "Your highness, we need an urgent dispatch of our troop to City Belgonia." Alexander's eyebrows shot up to his receding hairline. Evan continued "The prime suspect could possible be there" he breathed out and Felix's had wide eyes when he heard that.

Alexander frowned and Evan clearly understood his fathers hesitation and the fact that he needed more clear information on it. But, right now, it was time of action. They already wasted a lot of time. That woman may even go out of Seazle's border and then it would truly be hard to find her. Nobody took their seriously beyond the border.

Evan looked at his father with pleading eyes and Alexander understood it was important. He nodded his head and went up to his head. He quickly wrote the order on the paper and stamped the royal seal, which was only with the Emperor. He marched over to Evan and handed him the paper. Evan smiled and bowed low, thanking Alexander repeatedly. "I'll explain myself in a while". Alexander patted his shoulder and gave him an encouraging smile.

He trusted his son. After all, he was going to be the future Emperor of Seazle empire and Alexander was pretty much sure, Evan is responsible. Moreover, he can see the desperation in eyes and this made him wonder what drove him to have this emotion. He figured out it was something to do with Marques' death. He frowned when he thought about the death. The official was obviously involved with his enemies but, he was more concerned about what information got out of the Palace.

Alexander has changed the rules about the officials knowing about everything. Of course, they knew everything about the political affairs and the security systems but, he made sure he had some things hidden. When the great war broke out, which resulted in Alexander's father, then Emperor's death, Alexander decided to take strict actions towards the security of the Palace and empire. Money and emotions can make a person to do anything and he was not going to sacrifice his empire to things like that.

He was sure his secret was hidden and no on eknew about it. He would have to tell Evan eventually, but, for now, no one knew. He sighed and looked behind himself to find a frowning Felix. Alexander gently patted his shoulder and smiled reassuringly at him. "Belgonia" was all Felix said, looking up at his uncle. There seem to be some intentions behind those words, but Alexander didnt know them.

Felix just walked up to the desk full of papers from their ideas and started to gather them. "Uncle, are you aware of what Belgonia scholars are capable of?" Felix spoke while turning around. Alexander widened his eyes in realization and grinned up at his nephew. "You sure gave grown a lot, my boy." Felix's smile widened even more at those words.

........

Evan raced out and found many guards outside the chambers. All of them bowed synchronizingly, greeting the prince. He searched for the only person, who can successfully carry out the order he was currently holding. He frowned a bit when he can't find his best friend. "Where's Peter?" he inquired and scanned the crowd again.

Suddenly, Peter emerged from the crowd. He seemed breathless and Evan wondered what was he doing. He chose to ignore it for now and focus on the current task in the hand. "Immediately dispatch" he demanded while handing Peter the papers. He quickly scanned the paper and nodded up to the prince. He bowed his head a bit in respect and turned towards the guards behind him.

Peter and all the guards rushed from the chambers to the practice grounds where they would be having an emergency meeting for sending the guards. Evan observes the receding back of his best friend and sighed. He turned around and looked at the doors of the Emperor's room. Now, he has to explain everything to his father.

He hoped that the guards will reach as soon as possible and capture that woman. He wanted this case to be over. But, something in him told, this won't be as pretty and simple as it seems. He sighed heavily and looked up to the roof, his eyes roaming on the ceiling.

"This should be going smooth"

Well, the fact unknown to him, nothing would go smooth from now.
