1 Chapter 1. System Awakening
It is quite a lousy day for a young boy for one, he was bored. The second reason he already feels his life is considered screwed. He was a reincarnated person, when he was reincarnated he thinks that his life won't be shitty, a new chance to get a new life. Too bad, it was shit. When he learns he was named John Connor, he knows his life was screwed up.
John Connor, the future resistance leader of Humankind against Skynet. Damn it. Nothing he could do to change it. It was 1991, his mother Sarah Connor just screwed up by trying to blow up a computer factory in LA.
John just laughed a little inside when they put him in foster care of Todd and Janelle Voight. Well, at least he tried to keep his identity low key this time, not like OTL John Connor. Beside being low key is much better than original timeline John does by delinquency and keeping record in Police.
Knowing that your life is in danger after reincarnating is one thing. Most of the time John wished he was granted some easygoing cheat. Like system or gamer ability, even a dimensional chat group would be nice. Why? Because the existence of Skynet Time Machine would mean this fight would always be a constant battle with practically no ending with victories would only be halting Skynet or its derivative program which could just launch another Judgment day.
Not to mention that Skynet and its subsequent derivative programming would keep sending Terminators, all because some retards probably mess up with their coding and programming when they build that shitty AI.
All series of Terminator all the way to 7 is a repeat effect of Causality Weapon, the Skynet Time Machine. Even if he deals Cyberdine now, the DOD would be the next cause of Judgment day. Americans is that stupid in many multiverse, even in his past life he always think that no country shows humanity idiocy worse than the great USA.
"God damn it… I hate this life" say John with nearly dead eyes as he laying in his bed. He really wishes to be reincarnated in a slice of life romance story, not the apocalypse robot revolt one.

John Connor is not really John Connor. He was a reincarnated Person or perhaps in other word a transmigrator. He was transmigrated when he was 5. His past life is just a typical high school graduate who gets a decent job yet just trying to survive in 2021 after Covid pandemic hits the global economy in 2020. It forces him to be laid off. Can't find any job at all for the whole year.
In reality he really doesn't really give a damn of his past life. His father is a pensioner, his mother a regular house mother who keeps nagging him to find work again or married. In a recession and Pandemic lockdowns? Well if he really died in his past life, he hoped his sister could keep their parents happy enough till they passed away of old age.
His lack of self identity in past life made him forsake his past name and embrace his new identity. He barely remembers what he looks like in his past life.
There are many things he learned from Sarah Connor and her in the way to survive the future apocalypse. He learned how to handle guns, he also learned how to hack computer systems. The strangest thing is he has the ability to empathize with computerized machines. Perhaps this is the main reason why John Connor could defeat Skynet in the future. Today he just seems like an ordinary kid. For OTL John Connor blending in was probably harsh, not so much for this Connor. The only cringe was as an adult he probably felt like a pedophile trying to blend in with kids his age. In school he was quite sociable, but most of the time he was aloof. He is quite talented and kept his grade good. He do meet future Kate Brewster, she is quite cute like Claire Danes. She is quite taken by him, even claiming her crush to him. Damn, hope no multiverse FBI knocking on his doors.
A good enough reason to not go home early most of the time while preparing traps. There are places in the neighborhood where he could hide his stash of weapons.
Let's just hope that he doesn't reincarnate in more problematic issues like being in a lousy fanfic of multiverse level.
He probably tempted Murphy's Law on that, as he suddenly felt burned and found a strange tattoo of the letter "L" on his forearms. His eyes grow wide. He remembers about a Fanfic, written by some chinese fanboys. One of the best fanfic he read, too bad the story was dropped.
"Fuck, Mechanic of Infinite Legends" he grumble, and it was earlier than the original reincarnator, Tang Yu. No wonder he has the ability to empathize with machines. And he was just 8 years old. He suddenly find himself in a white room.

John tries to remember how Tang Yu and the fanfic describe this Multiverse system. He feels strange when there is no prompt of the system detecting foreign souls on his body. Probably because his soul totally merged with John Connor's soul.

After he watches it, he realizes, this system may seem the same but could be different than that Fanfic he read before he dies.

When Leon watch the quest, his eyes was twitching. From all worlds to be sent, he was sent first to the most cliche world ever. Naruto..... and whats the use of Naruto world for him in the first place? He would rather being sent to a Gundam world, or Marvel, or any other Scifi setting, hell he would be happy to be sent to Index universe. Getting sent to Naruto world in his condition is like training to use swords when your enemy use railgun. It would be sucks.
"What do I get from Quests?"
"Experimenter would get points. Points are calculated for eligibility to get to higher Ranks. Higher ranks mean more privilege. Point could be exchanged to bring items between worlds, or to bring a Retinue, or trade with other Experimenter"
"Can I take anything back from this world?" he asked.
"To bring physical things, or to get a retinue from this World, Experimenters must pay points. Things that experimenters learned or gained in the body are not calculated. Virus, parasite or disease that experimenter have that is infectious, if it change Experimenter beyond certain reason, would make the Experimenter lost the Experimenter status and marked Infected, and would be eliminated"

Leon sit down and think hard. In the Mechanic Legends fanfic, each ranks has a privilege when they do quest or deal with another world depending on mission. There is a risk that the System sends him on a Team Battle, it means competition. Tang Yu did jumps straight to join the Silver ranks, able to bring a retinue that is T-X Christina because he succeeded to defeat Skynet and experimenter who fought against him.
Gold Ranks could even bring a base and perhaps up to hundred thousands or even million of soldiers, and build a portal to invade another world.
"If I do this mission, what about my original world. Would I be considered as missing or something in my original world?" Leon asked the system.
"Time Diluted Mission. No matter how long the time passed, you would be returned to your original world 1 second for every year passed in the Quest world as long as Mission are not ended. Your body condition would be returned just like when you sent off"
So it seems his first time single Copper ranked mission this time is quite special.
Considering the missions on higher ranks are usually team based, he seems to agree. Mostly Silver Ranks are plunderer, not organizational. But to be promoted to Gold, you must have full influence on your home world, especially if you are an L. Top ranked Single Gold ranked Experimenters usually have enough ability to destroy regular cities in the 21st century. If he could take this chance, he could get stronger before he deals with Terminators at home.
