1 Beginning of the End

Opening my eyes, I looked around awkwardly. An unfamiliar environment, like a ship's cabin, surrounded me and something deep inside me fell sharply. The white curtains were pulled back from the one-person bed and the blanket was crumpled and almost thrown on the floor. The room was simple, but still looked too much like a teenager's room. Goosebumps ran through my skin as soon as I became aware of my unfamiliar surroundings. Suddenly, a feeling of unreality surged over and i calmed down as if i did not care. It became much easier to perceive that in a split second I moved from my chair at the computer in Switzerland to an incomprehensible place. Do I have blackouts? I better visit doctor.

Standing on staggering legs, I walked to the window with a gilded frame and peered, trying to figure out what I was seeing. In the window, I saw white lines shimmering and merging with each other. Not much actually to see.

Realizing that I see some kind of splash screen instead of a window, I found a strange door and went to it. With a quiet twilight, the door slid smoothly and released me from the cabin.

Leaving, leaning on the walls, I looked around the wide deserted corridor with many similar doors. The corridor was brightly lit and I seemed to have already seen the whole design, but straining my head I could not understand. Suddenly, from somewhere in the corridor, voices began to be heard not very similar to my language. But with every second, as if remembering the language, I began to understand what they were talking about.

Two children ran out and, seeing me, happily ran up to me. Noticing the oddity in their clothes and voice, I paid attention to listening to what they were saying. Somehow I was their height!

"Ray? Raaaay!! " - the girl waved her hand in front of my eyes.

"Hey, is everything okay? Your look really dumb right now. Maybe you should go to that aunt lorist that read the instructions to us on what to do when we fell bad? " - worried the guy near the girl.

Blinking, I smiled and the words floated up by themselves and came out of my mouth as if I were not speaking at all.

"No, sorry Akak, I just woke up and was dreaming. Thank gods we can start a new life, I can't wait for us to arrive at new place. "

Gears spun in my brain. The memories are clearly not mine and I seemed to know the guy. Could I have taken over someone's body? And what is this new life?

"Indeed, our parents are also happy and now celebrate for this, this why we were kicked out." - sigh a sad girl whose name I could not remember.

"Aren't you interested in what they are doing there?" - I asked trying to change the topic.

Clasping my hands behind my back, I finally paid attention to the clothes. As if from ancient Greece I was wearing a light, elegant fabric that looked more like a dress. My unfamiliar friends had similar clothes. With all this looks, she showed elite. That's just what kind of elite is. The more I think, the more questions pop up.

"Yes, as usual." - the girl shrugged her shoulders. "Probably gossiping among themselves, drinking and repeating the terraforming plan upon arrival."

Having suppressed the desire to reach out my head and touch the almost physically formed figures of question marks above my head, I calmly continued to walk myself, not knowing where I was hoping for the subconscious. The children followed me, examining me with suspicion.

"I wonder if others besides us were sent there? I mean how we can be sure that we are first." - I asked the question that appeared in my head. Seems like the previous owner was also thinking about this.

The boy that walked feigned surprise.

"Do you think we're like rats or somethink? Don't worry, you were assured that we would arrive without any problems. You seem weird today. Okay, see you in class! " - the guy assured me and ran forward.

What class ?! - I wanted to ask them in panic, but holding my balls into a fist, I just nodded.

"See you later!" - the girl ran after him.

When I stopped, I noticed something like a tablet near the wall. Turning to it, I went over and intuitively figured out the touch screen and began to translate what was written there.

After half an hour of poking, I figured it out completely and found a list for the ship's passengers. Among the numerous information I suddenly saw one sentence and my heart sank into my heels. The feeling of unreality and fear grew as I reread the same words.

"ZARIMAN TEN ZERO. PATH OF DESTINATION. TAU SYSTEM. "

Slowly trying to calm my heartbeat, I closed my eyes and began counting from zero to minus hundreds. When I reached minus twenty, I opened my eyes after reading the information again.

"Well. Shit." - was my only thought when I realized what kind of place it was.
