Journey and Farewell

It's a very boring journey with the caravan, I'm in the front on my bike, the RV behind with three other cars at the end. We drive on a normal road, so they are not a lot of cars blocking our way, we just push it if needed. From time to time there is a walker, I just grab him and throw him in the ditch.

*BOOM*

Well shit, I turn my head and see smoke coming from the engine of the RV. We stop, I open the hood of the RV, more smoke came out, I look inside the engine.

"It's the radiator hose," I says

Rick send T-Dog and Glenn trying to find replacement parts ahead

"Rick, It's Jim and Shane," says Jacqui

Rick go see Jim first

"Are you holding up? We're near" says Rick while putting a wet towel in the head of Jim

"My bones are like glass. Every little bump - this ride's killing me. Leave me here," Jim said in agony

"I'm done." He finishes

"Calm down, you're just delirious" Rick tries to appease Jim but to no avail.

"My head is perfectly fine, I'm never being so clear... I want to be with my family." With this final note, he closes his eyes trying to rest a little.

Rick left not knowing what to do. He visits Shane, but it was worse

"Kill me! I don't want to turn like those monsters!"

Rick directly left the RV feeling down.

Half an hour later, T-Dog and Glenn came back and they find replacement parts. I then start to work on the engine while Dale supervise. Next to us, is the rest of the group talking about the situation of Jim and Shane.

Dale advocates respecting Jim's wishes. The group agree, even Daryl, he didn't propose an arrow in the head of Jim.

"But for Shane, it's considering as murder right?" asked Glenn

Still, on the engine, I say: "There are no rules anymore, you can steal, kill, rape, torture anyone you want, only remain your moral conduct..."

Daryl agrees with me will the other were struggling to accept my words. Well, they will understand one day.

"I'll do it," says Rick, you can hear his voice shaking

So all this finally decided they act. Rick and T-Dog attach Jim to a tree. Everyone say goodbye to him even Shane. The Rick took Shane with shovel far in the woods nearby when everyone says goodbye to him. I excuse myself, needing to go to the toilets and I follow discreetly the duo.

I can hear them talking, joking while crying...

Rick put Shane near a tree. He took out his gun aiming at the head of Shane. He feels his gun very heavy... His hand trembles.

Shane saw this.

"Do it! Do it!" He starts to yell, it's just made Rick struggling even more.

Shane then starts to send infamy words toward Rick, but it didn't work.

"You know, I was happy you didn't wake up!" Yeah, he goes this way. The happy life he had while he was not here.

Enough! Before he could finish and Rick ends up killing his friend because of rage. I take the gun from my right Holster and shoot at Shane. The bullet hit him in the head killing him directly.

Rick turn and point his gun at me, but his mind is still confused. I put away my gun and walk slowly toward him, at close range, I put my hand on his gun lowering it. Rick then completely broke up in tears.

I'm not so well myself... First time killing a human, yes it's Shane but still, it's quite the toll on the mind. We collected ourselves and starts digging a grave for Shane. Once finish and the last farewell to Shane we leave in silence. Near the caravan, I separate myself from him.

"Thank you," he says and I nod in return.

Mourning a little more, we get ready and left this place toward the CDC.

Our caravan approaches the CDC with the sun setting, where hundreds of bodies lay dead on the ground. Another U.S. Military cordon was overrun. we quietly approach the building, which is locked and shuttered.

Inside, the proximity alarm alerts Jenner only man in the CDC. Stunned, he watches the group's approach via security monitor.

Around us, walkers start to appear.

"What do we do? We leave?" asked Amy

"We are out of gas, food and we would never make it," says Andrea

Lori demands a plan and Rick insists they'll figure something out as the sun sets.

I found the security camera and show it to Rick then I get in the rear of the group to clean the nearby walkers with Daryl.

Rick catches sight of the security camera's movement and slams his fists against the metal shutters, screaming, "If you don't let us in, you're killing us!"

More walkers arrive the rest decide to leave, T-Dog drag Rick

"You're killing us!" yelled one last time Rick.

Suddenly a shuttered door opens, drowning the survivors in light.
