Chapter 4: Six Months

Six months had gone by in the blink of eye but Cao Guang had grown a bit stronger and he could control his Star Orbit well enough. Generally this was a gruesome stage for students as controlling stars was not an easy task.

All seven stars had to be connected before the spell could be unleashed and a failure would not only waste time and effort but also his mana. Students had very little mana. 

" That's pretty cool brother" exclaimed Gao Xuan with astonishment.

"I told you, each star has a different character, you have to guide them while taking into their character into account. You should command your stars with attitude of a leader not their owner or their boss, but you can probably activate your spells by the end of the school year. And stop playing league so much"

"Yes, yes brother" replied Gao Xuan with a fake deeply hurt look on his face. 

"Going to meet old man Ying, brother?"

"Yeah, I don't know why the old man wants to meet me today all of sudden" said Cao Guang as he left their dorm room.

Cao Guang didn't have as much friendship with old man Ying, atleast not to the point he could ask the man if he was a transmigrator. But he had been working on it. He hadn't had much contact with his schoolmates but he wasn't unsociable either. 

He was constantly on the look out for potential teammates or friends who would resonate with his ideologies. In fact two students with Innate Talent was rare in the small Bo City.

Thinking about Innate Talents he couldn't help but smirk about his. So far only Gao Xuan and old man Ying knew what it was. The reason old man Ying was due to Gao Xuan blabbing in front of him, but Cao Guang had discreetly guided that conversation. However, old man Ying was not a Mage and didn't seem to understand the importance of his talent completely.

His talent could be called Innate Contract Strengthening but the ability covered broad aspects associated with Contracted beasts.

Firstly it gave him double the amount of Contracted space, that is two in the Intermediate level and two more in the Advanced level. Secondly he would never fail to contract a beast at his own level regardless of the strength difference between them and he also had a 30% chance of contracting a beast above his level. This meant that he a chance of contracting a Ruler at the advanced level or an Emperor at the Super level.

What this meant was monstrous. Even the current Pang Lai had no chance of achieving the latter. In the future he would only be able to summon the projection of an Emperor for brief while but that had taken the old man's dedication of thirty years. 

And finally he could bring a demon beast from the Summoning plane to the real world permanently but this would take up a contract slot of his.

The effects of this talent made a world of a difference to him, because contract slots were a Summouner's life blood. The effects of Primary, Advanced and the Super spell of the summoning element were temporary, when the Summouner's mana ran out the creatures returned to the Summoning plane.

Because of this only contract slots were ever truly available to a Summoner always as contract creatures were natives of the real world. He not only had twice the amount of contract slots but also could activate the slots in advance if he brought a creature from the summoning plane to the real world. He would also never fail to contract a beast of the same level as him.

"Old man I'm coming in" said Cao Guang as he entered the Hut.

" You've come at the right time " said old man Ying as he cleaned a pendant with the shape of white tiger hanging on it.

"What's that" asked Mo Fan even though he had feeling he might know the answer to the question.

"Sit down, it's a long story and I'll start from the beginning" said the old man pointing at a chair.

" Years ago my family moved to Bo City, we brought a few family treasures with us. But the treasure recognises its own master, I am not a Mage and not did I have this fortune. I don't have any descendants left either, so I been searching for a good successor" said the old man as heanded the pendant to Cao Guang.

Cao Guang held his excitement as he received the pendant and it started glowing the moment it made contact with him.

" Wear it" said the old man with gratification in his eyes.
