Chapter 109: Pathetic Shi Qianshou
Dealing with Shi Qianshou was well and good but he couldn't possess the Flame Belle any more before becoming a second tier Fire mage.
Talk about going through excruciating pain to cultivate only to realise that not only did he overcome the enemy who was out to kill him but couldn't possess the Flame Belle to fight him.
Cao Guang went down the mountain as the possession faded and the pain of being burnt alive resurfaced. He was now sure that Shi Qianshou would not make a trip to the elemental sacred land as it hindered his Poison element too much.
The question is, will the guy be still waiting?
Cao Guang didn't witness the crime himself, he didn't bother looking when Tong Xuan and others covered up the traces of Sandstorm Demon Locusts to make it look like it was just a Sandstorm.
They didn't know why Cao Guang was inserted into the squad by a higher up of the army. At first they thought this guy came to investigate the problem, only he had no interest in doing. Virtually going up the Burning Mountains as soon as societal norms would allow him to.
But Cao Guang knew better, Shi Qianshou was a cautious man, so cautious that he would deal with anything once he was spooked.
Of course killing Cao Guang might bring some troubles but he would cross that bridge when the time came.
Cao Guang's hypothesis was on point as right on the exit to the elemental sacred land he found a tall man in military uniform of a Colonel was waiting for him, it was obviously Shi Qianshou.
" It's seems Colonel Shi Qianshou came personally to investigate the matter, doesn't it Tong Xuan?"
" You must be Cao Guang that I have heard of?" asked Shi Qianshou by preventing Tong Xuan from saying anything he shouldn't.
" You are correct, I was sent here to investigate the problem by HQ, so far I haven't found any but the only place I have been unable to reach is that Burning Mountain. I suppose you haven't seen anything out of the ordinary over there have you?"
" Nope, nothing out of the ordinary. But does Colonel Shi trust my words enough to let a witness to the crime walk away"
The man's eyebrow tensed for a moment before easing up as he called for his insects.
The Little Flame Belle wasted no time in appearing before the crowd either.
A zone filled with Crimson flames filled the area and the domain of Crimson Death appeared. The flames obeyed her commands like she was their queen.
The Flame Belle was no longer just a porcelain doll the size of fist, but a teenage girl about a metre tall. Only she was made of Fire and not flesh. Calamity Fire draped over body like her imperial dress while Crimson Death surrounded her like her royal throne.
This was her kingdom and here her rule was everything, soon Crimson Death trailed over to Cao Guang and formed a protective circle.
Shi Qianshou was first thinking of just using his own insects but after seeing the Elemental spirit of fire and it's domain he changed his mind to using his other elements he didn't escalate to Summoning the actual Sandstorm Demon Locusts yet.
He connected his Star Galaxy faster than Cao Guang could and a wave of Earth magic spread from his brown eyes.
Eyes of the Rock Demon Petrification
The wave of Petrification magic waltzed through the Domain of Crimson Death until it was stopped by Calamity Fire. It had exceptional 'thickness' of sorts. It was Flame Belle's congenital flame, she had refined it from the moment she was born.
Calamity Fire quickly overwhelmed Shi Qianshou's Earth Magic as he decided to switch back to his Poison Magic. He had recognised that the elemental creature possessed two different types of Soul grade flames and opted to not send his own insects in.
So he activated his Seal of Poison and attracted the Sandstorm Demon Locusts that he was keeping away. At the Advanced level onwards good mages had some form of magic they created on their own, only then could they be called a true mage.
Shi Qianshou was one, he had created a spell that would give the upper hand against a lot of Super mages even provided he could give them the finishing blow. Yet his other elements were worthless in front of a elemental spirit capable of fighting Great Commanders.
