6 Three Portlands

Kaleb had been ejected from the door and landed flat on his face. He felt sick, even after his vision returned he was trying not to throw up. Once he regained control over his stomach kaleb rolled over onto his back and tried to regain his bearings. Without a sound Daniel appeared standing in front of the door, A slight grimace on his face the only sign of the trip.

He walked over and offered a hand to help Kaleb to his feet "Don't worry you get used to it... eventually" Daniel reassured him.

Accepting the help Keleb got up and looked around getting his first look at where he landed. He appeared to be in an office identical to the one he started in, but on closer inspection he began to notice oddities. The walls were a different shade of red, the desk had different stuff on it, and the shelves had different books.

"Alright come on then, don't worry this shop is mostly the same as the one you were just in" Daniel said leading Kaleb out of the office.

Arriving in the main part of the store Kaleb turned and asked "What do you even sell here anyway?" He hadn't thought to ask before because… well he had more important things going on, but now that he'd finally accomplished his first goal he had some down time.

He smiled, "I'm glad you asked! You see we here at Grimalkin's use a combination of necromancy and golemancy to turn thies regular taxidermied animals into faithfull minions for your every need" he pitched.

"Huh, neat." Kaleb said, "anyway I've gotta go, see ya"

Kaleb turned away and just barely got to see Daniel's smile crumble. To be honest he really wanted one, like a lot, but he was really low on cash. He couldn't afford to spend it all on a dead animal friend.

Walking out onto the streets of Three Ports Kaleb was immediately struck by it's uniqueness, from the architecture to the people walking down the streets, everything just looked so unique. Three Ports was an amalgamation of the different styles of all the Portlands it connects to, and it showed. The whole city was made of a series of rings moving out from it's center, with roads and alleys connecting them. There were trolleys on some of the main roads but for the most part people walked to get around. The next thing he noticed was that the time here was different. It was almost sundown when he entered Gimalkin's but it appeared to be around midday here.

After some wandering around and just general sightseeing Kaleb decided to get back on track. He had two new goals, to find a place to stay and a place to gather knowledge. He had a plan and a back up plan, and Kaleb's first choice was The Wanderer's Library. It would perfectly fit both his needs, knowledge, a home, protection, and it would allow him to maintain a connection with both Three Ports and the normal world. The only problem was that Ways into The Wanderer's Library. Luckily This city has the highest concentration of people likely to have that knowledge, another reason he wanted to come here. His second choice as dreadful as it sounds would be to enroll in Deer College. As loath as it sounds it would still fit all his criteria, and from what he knew it had quite a good reputation.

Kalebs thoughts were interrupted by the sudden growling of his stomach, making it's desire for food known. Deciding to return to his urlyer thought process after he had something in his stomach. It didn't take him long before Kaleb managed to wander onto a street lined with assorted stores and shops, and an even less amount of time for him to locate one that sold food. It was a quaint little shop called Josephena's Pastries. A short line later Kaleb was walking out the door with a glazed donut, and after eating said donut was walking back into the shop to buy more.

'Never in my life have I eaten a donut this good!' Kaleb thought, half eaten donut in one hand, three more as reserve in the other.

Kaleb had just turned down an alley, still musing about his donut, when a black cat the size of an average dog smelled some of those donuts. The very distracted Kaleb was caught completely off guard when the cat lunged out of the shadows and ripped his bag of reserve donuts right out of his hand and ran off with it.

"Hey! You little sh*t, those are mine!" he yelled out as he turned and began to chase after the cat.
