24 Team 7 Alpha an Beta?!

Everyone was confused as Iruka continued to explain, "This year there will be six people in one team, and a lieutenant will be joining your team captain."

The classroom exploded with the conversation. In response, Iruka waved his hands while shouting, "Calm down! Calm down!"

After the classroom quieted down, Iruka finished speaking, "Most missions can still be carried out as three-man teams, but the reason the Hokage did this was to get graduating Shinobi to train together and have the option of exchanging techniques!"

"Are you saying that the Hokage wants us to exchange our Clan's secrets?" One of the students asked,

"Nobody's saying that. The Hokage is simply giving you guy's the option to share. For instance, the Ino–Shika–Chō formation is used by the members of the Yamanaka, Nara, and Akimichi clan members. They designed the combined Jutsu as a result of their long history of teamwork and studying each other's techniques. And believe me, they know one another's Jutsus like the backs of their hands. The reason the Hokage is doing this is for you to make new and more powerful formations of your own."

Kibo shook his head and thought, "Well this is certainly unexpected."

When suddenly, Shikamaru raised his hand and asked a question, "What will we do for the Chunin Exams? I heard only three Nin to a team can enter."

Iruka responded in delight "This is why there will be a lieutenant joining your squad as well. When the time comes for the Chunin Exams, you will be split up into two teams and the lieutenant will become your temporary team captain, until you become a Chunin, or fail the exam."

Iruka raised his then said, "As a team of six, you can also take on higher ranking missions, but that's only if your team captain deems you're ready."

Iruka began reading off names in pairs of 3 team members at a time. Both forming an alpha and a beta team.

When it came time for team 7 Iruka called out Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura as team alpha. Kibo, Karin, and Hinata were set as team beta.

Kibo was surprised, to say the least. But as it turns out, because of Kibo's request to increase team-limits and Itachi informing the Hokage of their training sessions, Sarutobi's original change of just adding two new members to a team become this whole ordeal.

Team 8 Alpha was Ino, Shikamaru, and Choji. Team 8 Beta was Kiba, Shino, and Sai.

The new team 10 was Sumaru from the Hoshi Clan, Chiyo from the Chinoike Clan, and a boy from the Uchiha clan named Ryo.

Their beta team was Yakumo a young maiden who came from the Kurama Clan, Shintai a boy from the Tenma Clan, and Sai's brother Shin.

Soon, everyone's' captains and lieutenants entered the classroom to pick up their teams, well everyone except team 7's.

Kurenai and Asuma were in charge of team 8, and Itachi and Shisui were in charge of team 10.

Sasuke was a bit disappointed that Itachi and Shisui weren't their team leaders, but that's how life goes, you can't always get what you want.

While they waited for an hour, the classroom cleared out and was empty, all except for Team 6.

Kibo was still wondering who'd be the lieutenant for their team when Naruto starting to get jumpy.

"Aughh! What's taking them so long?!" Naruto was pacing back and forth before he looked at the chalkboard and had a mischievous idea.

Naruto placed an eraser in the corner of the door and closed it leaving a small gap.

"You really think a Jonin is gonna fall for that?" Sasuke said as he crossed his arms.

"Whether he falls for it or not, it's the principle of the matter. They need to be taught a lesson." No sooner than Naruto said this, the classroom door opened and everyone's eyes shot to the eraser.

It fell to land on top of a Jonin with short unkempt brown hair and almond-shaped black eyes.

Their lieutenant wore the standard Konoha Jonin gear. Only, there were some slight differences. The neck of his navy blue shirt was form-fitting and goes up to his chin. He also has two hip pouches strapped to his lower back instead of just one.

In addition to that, he has a happuri-style forehead protector that frames his face, similar to that of Tobirama Senju.

While the eraser bounced off his head and rolled on the floor, the door opened completely, revealing Kakashi standing behind him, looking at Yamato like he was a total rookie.

Sasuke was thinking, "Thank God, he's only the lieutenant! It'd be a shame if our captain actually fell that!"

Kakashi looked to the laughing and chuckling party before saying, "Hmm! My first opinion of you guys."

He paused and looked at Yamato to see his eyebrows twitching out of annoyance, Kakashi then threw his thumb up and said "You guys are alright."

"Kakashi Senpai!" Yamato shouted in a harsh tone.

Kakashi smiled and waved his hand while saying, "Come on it's stuffy in here for my taste, let's go out to the balcony and have a chat!"

While Kakashi left the classroom, everyone silently thought, "But there's no one in here but us. It's an empty classroom."

After meeting up in the courtyard, Kakashi started talking, "Now I'd like you to tell me a bit about yourselves."

"Like what?" Naruto asked with an innocent expression.

"You know the usual, your favorite thing, what you hate the most. Dreams, ambitions, hobbies, you know, stuff like that."

"Uh help us out here. How about you start Sensei?" Naruto said with a slightly confused expression,

"That's right! After all, you're a total mystery to us! We don't know the first thing about you!" Sakura added in.

"If you're going to ask for someone's name, it's only polite to give yours first," Sasuke followed up.

"He's got you there Kakashi Sensei! It's good to see you again, by the way!" Kibo chimed in.

"It's good to see you again as well Kibo, I'm glad your injury has healed," Kakashi replied.

"Why does everyone keep saying that?" Karin asked.

"You remember, right? I got my eye plucked out." Kibo responded with a bit of venom in his voice.

"How can you say that with such a straight face?" Naruto whispered, butting into their conversation.

Kibo decided to change the subject as he said, "Yours too. I see you got that eye under control."

Kibo noticed Kakashi wasn't wearing his headband over his eye anymore, and the Sharingan receded so that must mean he can control it now.

"Actually it's thanks to that S-rank skill you brought to the village all those years ago. It's no wonder your ancestor was able to go head to head with that Uchiha." As Kakashi said this Sasuke seemed intrigued "Which Uchiha?"

Kibo laughed and said, "Madara the old clan lord of the Uchiha!"

Sasuke went wide-eyed and slack-jawed before Kakashi said, "Okay, back on point. I'll demonstrate, my name is Kakashi Hatake, I'm the kind of person who doesn't like to talk about his likes and dislikes, and my dreams for the future are none of your business. As for hobbies, well I have lots of hobbies. And now it's your turn!"

Everyone had a bit of sweat on their foreheads, while Kibo just shook his head, "Why don't I start! My name is Kibo Hoshi. As for things I like, Family, Friends, R&R, training, and my girlfriend."

Karin blushed before Kibo continued, "As for dislikes, I hate snakes, and thieves who like to take other people's eyes."

Mostly everyone was clueless about his last comment, but he continued, "My Dream is to become an unstoppable Shinobi, create a True Village Hidden in the Stars, and become its Hoshikage."

Kibo smiled as he finished, "My hobbies, crafting, martial arts, and the rest are private."

Naruto went next, "Name; Naruto Uzumaki, I like my family, friends and. . ." he paused as he looked to Hinata, and back to Kakashi before saying with a red face, "Hinata, and Ramen!"

Hinata's face turned red as well while she pointed her fingers together and looked very shy.

Kakashi and Yamato had almost blank expressions on their faces,

"Why do I feel so annoyed right now?" Kakashi thought to himself.

Yamato shared Kakashi's opinion as he thought, "Is everybody in this group paired up? Seriously, what's with this team the Hokage sent me to? Is he trying to tell me to get a girlfriend?"

"As for dislikes, I hate it when people are two-faced, bullies, and when my ramen gets cold. My future dream is to become the Hokage, and have everyone in the village acknowledge my existence! As for hobbies; pranks, practical jokes, eating ramen, wood carving, and hanging out with my friends."

"My name is Sakura Haruno, things I like are Medical Nin-Jutsu . . ." Sakura looked to Sasuke and blushed, making Sasuke blush too.

"Plans for the future are . . ." Sakura looked at Sasuke again and placed her hands over her face while acting giddy before her attitude completely flipped as she said "As for dislikes, Ino! As for my hobbies, they are chatting with my friends, and cooking."

"Karin's my name; I like Kibo, my Mom, and my friends! Plans for the future, become the future Hoshikage's wife. As for dislikes, I'm no big fan of snakes either. Hobbies include medical Nin-Jutsu, and trying to embarrass my boyfriend."

Kibo lifted his brow and said, "Oh so you're doing it on purpose!"

Karin smiled and stuck her tongue out.

"My name is Sasuke Uchiha, as for likes, Pizza, Tomatoes, shuriken practice with my brother. And the rest is my business. As for dislikes, people who mess with my family and friends, and I hate fan clubs. Plans for the future...is to become Hokage!"

Naruto lifted his brow, "You trying to steal my dream?!"

Sasuke smiled with a coky smirk and waved his hand while replying, "I just don't want the job falling into such incompetent hands!"

Naruto pulled up his sleeve, ready to fight when Kibo stopped him and said, "That's not something you can say as a joke, you serious about this?"

Sasuke nodded his head in affirmation, "I don't want to be useless to my family. Since I can't become the next clan head, I might as well aim for the top."

"Well Naruto, you better look out now. You got one hell of a rival chasing the same dream."

Naruto sat down with a 'humph!' crossed his arms, and said, "There's no way you're gonna defeat me!"

"As for hobbies, training with my friends, and defeating Naruto!" Sasuke finished his introductions.

In response to that last jab, Naruto growled out, "That last one isn't a hobby."

"It is when it happens so often!" Sasuke replied.

"You! We're tied! 50 wins and 50 losses." Naruto said as Sasuke placed his hands up and shrugged his shoulders.

"My name is Hinata Hyuga, I like cinnamon rolls, sweet red bean soup, being with my friends, and N.Na. Naruto Kun!"

Naruto really liked looking at Hinata's' face when she was embarrassed. The blond goofball had a warm smile on his face as Hinata continued, "My future dreams are, becoming a good Shinobi, and..."

Hinata looked to Naruto and blushed.

"My dislikes are crab, shrimp, and people who are cruel to others for no reason. My hobbies are, pressing flowers, and having fun with my friends and family."

"I'm Yamato. My favorite foods are walnuts, while my least favorite ate oily foods. As for likes, hot springs, and bonding with my fellow Shinobi. My hobby is reading books about architecture. My dislikes, well, that's personal. As for dreams, for now, I'm trying to be a good lieutenant."

"Good! Now that we all know each other a bit better, we will begin formal training tomorrow!" Kakashi said while Yamato nodded his head in agreement.

Naruto seeming eager to please followed up with a "Yes Sir! So what are we doing?"

"Our first project includes only the members of this cell! Let's call it survival training!" Kakashi replied.

"Why would the first project be something like that?!" Sakura asked

"Yeah, the whole stay at the academy we were taught survival tactics." Karin followed up.

"Oh but this isn't any old wilderness training. What you have to survive against, is us," Yamato said smiling while looking at Naruto with revenge in his thoughts. He wouldn't admit it, but he was a bit sore about the eraser prank.

"Then what kind of practice are we doing? Hand to hand combat?" Hinata asked, making both Yamato, and Kakashi snicker.

"What's so funny?" Naruto asked

"No! It's nothing. I just thought if I told you, you might chicken out!" Kakashi replied.

"Why?" Karin asked.

"Because out of the 10 teams, only 3 of them will become fully-fledged Ninja's the rest will be sent back to the academy. The test we're about to perform has a 66% chance of failure." Kakashi said with dread in his voice.

"So anyway, we'll meet up at the training fields tomorrow," Yamato said disappearing from view in a burst of speed.

Kakashi stood on the rail and said, "Oh yeah, don't eat breakfast tomorrow, it'd be a pain if you puked during training."

Like Yamato, Kakashi jumped off into the distance.

Everyone but Kibo was shocked at their sudden departure.

"Don't worry. We aren't like those that have failed before us. I didn't hear him say we all couldn't pass, as long as we work as a team, I think we can pull it off. Oh, and he didn't say we couldn't bring breakfast with us, so pack a Bento, and we'll eat after."

After listening to Kibo's words they all relaxed a little,

"Besides, I have a feeling we'll be surprising them tomorrow," Kibo said with a mischievous grin.

After chatting and grabbing a bite to eat, they all went home.

Naruto could be heard in his room shouting while hitting something, "Take, that, and that, you, you, Masked Baka! Thinks he so cool! Darn it! I think he's kinda cool! Doesn't matter, I'm going to pass! Dattebayo!"
