Jing Yunzhao finally got to leave the police station after giving her testimony and completing all the necessary procedures.

She could still hear the wailing and shouting from Lu Jia's family as she left the police station.

"I informed your teachers about what happened. Forget about school today and get some rest," Gan Songbo sighed and said to Jing Yunzhao.

Jing Yunzhao nodded obediently. It was a Friday, followed by the weekend. Her results had always been good and she studied more than her classmates. Now that she had some time for herself, she would rather use it for medical knowledge and martial arts.

After what happened yesterday, Jing Yunzhao realized that she was not as strong as expected. Had she spent more time practising martial arts, Lu Jia's gang would have had no chance to go near her at all. Even though she had won the fight, she still had scratches all over her face and limbs.

Jing Yunzhao reached up and touched the scratches on her face, frowning.

"About what happened…" Gan Songbo hesitated, then decided to say it anyway, "the security in this area is generally good, but you are too young to be wandering around at night especially in dark, remote places like that alley. There wouldn't be witnesses or evidence if something really had happened."

Jing Yunzhao knew that Gan Songbo meant well for her. She also knew that Gan Songbo wouldn't be talking this gently and patiently to her had she been his real granddaughter - he would have been yelling and scolding her angrily if that was the case.

But Grandpa was right. Although she knew martial arts, wandering alone at her age wasn't a good idea.

"I understand, Grandpa. I won't go there at night again," said Jing Yunzhao politely.

Gan Songbo was confused at Jing Yunzhao's reply. She wouldn't go there at night again? Was she saying that she would be going to that place again?

Jing Yunzhao had separated from the Qiao Family, and it was unlikely that she was still in touch with their relatives, so why did she have to keep going to that place?

Jing Yunzhao was a young girl who had no blood relation to Gan Songbo, and Gan Songbo as an old man felt that it wouldn't be appropriate if he continued to question Jing Yunzhao. Looks like the only way to find out more was to get Chu Chu to talk to Jing Yunzhao so he could take care of her better.

Jing Yunzhao went to the herb market after seeing Gan Songbo off. With the ten thousand bucks she had on hand, she bought more types of seeds and some seedlings and quickly spent all the money she had.

On her way back home, Jing Yunzhao dropped by to inform the old Mr. Xu that she would not be able to go over that night.

Eccentric as he was, he took it that Jing Yunzhao was slacking and tossed her a few dozen books. He requested that Jing Yunzhao go over to his place at least once a week, and must be able to recite at least five books during each visit. If she failed, he would not buy any herbs from her no matter how fine they were.

Jing Yunzhao agreed to Mr. Xu's request despite it being quite challenging. With her secret space, she had the luxury of time which was five times more than what anyone else would have. Also, the books that Mr. Xu gave her were all about the Naling Jade, and it would be extremely useful for her to read them.

Jing Yunzhao stayed in her own room for three entire days and did not come out unless necessary.

Three days were equivalent to half a month in her secret space. During this period, Jing Yunzhao memorized the books and sometimes practised martial arts.

When she exited her secret space and entered the real world again, her body felt light and agile, and she was visibly thinner. On the bright side, her complexion had improved considerably.

Lu Jia was no longer in school when Jing Yunzhao returned.
