36 Black Widow

The classroom went silent again. Some students frowned, some were shocked, and one of them looked amused at Jing Yunzhao's threat. 

Suddenly, the student sitting behind Jing Yunzhao slammed her book down on the table loudly. 

"Well said! Quit sticking your nose in Jing Yunzhao's business, Jiang Xia! I heard the entire conversation so stop trying to make yourself look like a saint while emotionally blackmailing Jing Yunzhao. Let her be if she does not want to return to that place. You are lucky you were saying those things to Jing Yunzhao and not me, because I probably would have slapped you without bothering to explain things," the girl sitting behind Jing Yunzhao stood up and said boldly. 

Jing Yunzhao was surprised to hear someone standing up for her, but understood when she turned and saw who the girl was. 

Xiao Haiqing-a person who always did good things. Even when Jing Yunzhao was in prison in her previous life, she had always heard about her good deeds. 

This Xiao Haiqing was the class representative for Class 1's physical education. She was a tough girl with a carefree personality and a beautiful face, though it was a different kind of beauty than Su Chu's. 

Xiao Haiqing's results were neither good nor bad. Although she was smart, she hated studying and chose to put all her effort into sports. 

Back then, Jing Yunzhao remembered hearing about Xiao Haiqing from Qiao Hongye even after she withdrew from school and went back to stay with the Qiao Family. 

She knew that Xiao Haiqing didn't like pretentious girls. Although Xiao Haiqing and Qiao Hongye were in different classes, they did not get along and Qiao Hongye's tricks had never worked on Xiao Haiqing. 

But the wicked Qiao Hongye would never admit defeat, so she had gotten in touch with some gangsters and arranged for them to handle Xiao Haiqing the same way they had handled Jing Yunzhao. Unfortunately for Qiao Hongye, Xiao Haiqing knew martial arts and not only had she gotten away from the gangsters, but she had also beaten Qiao Hongye up the next day. Qiao Hongye decided to make peace with Xiao Haiqing after that, and though she did complain about Xiao Haiqing from time to time at home, she never thought about laying a finger on her again. 

While in prison during her previous life, Jing Yunzhao had read an article about Xiao Haiqing in the newspapers a few days before she passed away. There had been a picture of her and she had been called the 'Black Widow'. 

According to the article, Xiao Haiqing would seduce old men during her degree, and those men would somehow pass away when Xiao Haiqing got married to them. Xiao Haiqing then inherited their assets naturally and became a noble upstart. 

Jing Yunzhao did not know Xiao Haiqing well, but she could tell that Xiao Haiqing was a staunch girl who would never do something like that. Jing Yunzhao didn't believe the article at all. 

She had a favorable impression of Xiao Haiqing be it in her previous life or the present. 

"I know it now, and I will do it your way if anyone tries it again," Jing Yunzhao looked at Xiao Haiqing and said gratefully. 

"You learn fast! Alright then, you have me to watch your back now." Xiao Haiqing smiled cheekily and high-fived Jing Yunzhao. 

Xiao Haiqing was surprised to learn that Jing Yunzhao was not a doormat like she had initially thought. Who knew that such a fiery temper was hiding behind that meek persona? 

Jiang Xia's expression darkened. 

If he had to name people in this class that he would never want to offend, it would be Ms. Kim and Xiao Haiqing. He didn't want to offend Xiao Haiqing not because he was scared of a girl, but because Xiao Haiqing could be unreasonable at times. 

Xiao Haiqing was the type of person who refused to listen to anyone as long as she thought that she was right. She wouldn't give in even if you tried to convince her, and she might punch you if she got annoyed. What was worse was that she didn't mind behaving shamelessly. To avoid punishment for hitting someone, she would punch herself after punching someone so that it looked like she had done it out of self-defence. She was smart and sly, and had been able to get away with it every time so far.
