27 Chapter 27: Skill Grows Noticeably, Little Junior Brother

The curriculum at Hagun Academy was broadly divided into two categories: the literacy class and physical education. The literacy class primarily covered Blazer-related history and the understanding of various categories of Blazer's special abilities. On the other hand, physical education aimed to enhance physical abilities and conduct combat exercises. There were also optional courses available, catering to various interests.

From the moment Jiangli crossed over and began attending classes, he was enthusiastic about Blazer courses. However, that fervor waned just two days later, and he transformed into what could be described as a "salted fish." For example, take the Magic Control class, which aimed to instruct students on effectively controlling their Magic Power. This was a vital course for Blazer students, as Magic Control was a significant evaluation criterion alongside Magic Quantity.

Students were taught to create stable Magic Power barriers under their feet to stand on water surfaces or utilize specially designed Magic Power clay or even hydraulic presses. All these techniques required a certain level of Magic Power release, at least extending over a certain period, to achieve control. In contrast, Jiangli and Kurogane Ikki found themselves idly standing by while the others trained fervently.

With their overconfidence, the two believed that being Magic Power F-Rank made them excel at releasing Magic Power quickly. Jiangli's average release time was no more than a second, and he'd never go beyond two seconds. They felt like experts at practicing ghost Magic Control. Even Sensei couldn't help them, leaving the two to train independently.

As Jiangli and Ikki exchanged glances, they realized they shared a common dilemma. Ikki welcomed the idea of practicing with a partner for once.

"How about checking out the sword technique class?"

"Sounds good!"

Agreeing, the duo decided to explore elective courses together. However, to their surprise, the academy didn't offer dedicated sword technique classes. There were only martial arts courses available, like Judo, which were mainly taught by Sensei himself, driven by his personal interests.

"Should we give it a try?"

"Let's see."

Observing Jiangli's uncertain expression, Ikki couldn't quite understand what was going on in his mind.

After a pause, Jiangli finally spoke, "I haven't seen a student as clueless as you."

Judo Sensei pointed at Jiangli with a trembling finger, his body shaking with barely suppressed anger. His face contorted in frustration, as if he might explode at any moment. Ikki and Jiangli stared at him, dumbfounded.

Ordinarily, martial arts were relatively straightforward to learn. Whether it was sword technique, marksmanship, Fist Arts, or Judo, anyone with some dedication and practice could master them with relative ease. But Jiangli was an exception.

He struggled with even the most basic stances, unable to hold them for even a brief period. He fumbled through offense and defense exercises, failing to grasp the essence of Judo.

"You're the most clueless student I've ever encountered," Judo Sensei uttered, his voice trembling with suppressed anger.

Ikki glanced at Jiangli, baffled by the sudden turn of events.

In most cases, where there's a will, there's a way. But Jiangli was an anomaly among anomalies. While he had effortlessly picked up sword technique basics and even achieved a high level of proficiency, he was struggling immensely with other martial arts forms and combat styles. It was as if his mind was divided in two.

In his mind, Jiangli was grappling with an enigma. He knew the basic stances by heart and could understand advanced sword techniques, but when faced with martial arts outside the realm of sword technique, his abilities plummeted. It was as if he was a novice, unable to grasp anything.

In his head, it felt like:

Brain: I've learned this!

Hands and Feet: You're delusional!

This sensation plagued him.

His limbs seemed to operate independently, as though they had a mind of their own, ignoring his instructions and acting on their own accord.

Jiangli understood the reason behind this. His innate skills were oriented solely towards sword technique. Any other form of combat was a foreign concept to him, rendering him incapable of learning them, regardless of how hard he tried.

It was frustrating, to say the least. For someone who prided himself on understanding combat strategies using his Insight Eyes, he found himself unable to replicate what he had seen. His limbs and brain just couldn't communicate when it came to executing non-sword combat techniques.

But he accepted it, maintaining a positive mindset—a necessity for a swordsman.

Meanwhile, Ikki decided to stay in the Judo class, aiming to improve his Judo skills. His recent battle with Stella had left a strong impression, and he was determined to strengthen himself.

Jiangli left the Judo classroom and wandered aimlessly around the school. The Blazer curriculum at Hagun Academy was relatively flexible. Given that Blazer students needed combat experience, elective courses were typically designed to provide hands-on training. But for Jiangli, the options seemed limited.

He sighed, raking his fingers through his black hair in frustration. Only two projects could engage him: refining his physical abilities and honing his sword technique.

Blazer special abilities required independent development due to the individualized nature of each ability. These courses were not formally taught; students typically sought guidance from experienced Blazer teachers. Magic Control was an example of this. The theory was taught, but practical mastery required individual effort and guidance.

Lost in thought, Jiangli considered seeking help from the "legal loli" mentioned by his master. Supposedly, she could accelerate his growth significantly. But just as swiftly as the idea entered his mind, he dismissed it with a fierce shake of his head.

"I would rather die than ask for help from that legal loli!"

Since his rebirth, he had developed a strong aversion to her. Jiangli had no intention of seeking assistance from her, no matter the circumstances.

"Who are you referring to as the legal loli?"

Startled, Jiangli spun around. A figure emerged behind him, seemingly from thin air. She spoke in a calm tone, seemingly appearing out of nowhere.

"It's been a few years, but your skills have grown perceptibly, Little Junior Brother."
