1 Chapter 1: A Fateful Encounter

Tokyo International Airport.

Jiang Li, with a gray canvas suitcase in hand, emerged from the passenger corridor, drawing astonished gazes from onlookers. As their eyes focused, they beheld a strikingly handsome young man. His features appeared to have been meticulously crafted by divine hands—a head of raven-black hair that danced in the wind, slender brows arched high, a prominent nose that exuded delicacy, and deep, ebony eyes that held an air of profound mystery.

It was early April, and a faint trace of winter still lingered in the island nation's air. While pedestrians bustled about in thick coats, the youth sported only a white jacket over his deep blue long-sleeved shirt, complemented by black casual pants and pristine white sneakers that emitted a sense of coolness. He seemed to be no older than 15 or 16, radiating the vitality unique to youth. His tall and slightly slender figure appeared to measure around 5 feet 9 inches, and his limbs were long and lean, giving an impression of fragility.

"Quite the eye-catcher!"

As passersby beheld the young man's figure, exclamations of astonishment echoed in their minds. It was a well-known fact that when God closed a door, He sometimes cemented the windows shut as well. However, this youth seemed to be God's secret offspring, gifted with an RPG launcher to blast open the house.

Jiang Li's gaze swept over the surrounding crowd, absorbing their various reactions. He remained silent, his steps guided solely towards the airport's exit.

Tokyo International Airport, the neon-lit colossal hub, saw daily footfalls ranging from 200,000 to 300,000. Within the airport's confines, a continuous stream of people flowed like a river, with shoulders brushing against shoulders, cacophonous voices creating a symphony, and the warmth of bodies filling the air.

After a while, Jiang Li finally stepped out of the airport.

"Little brother, I'm here!"

At the exit, Jiang Li immediately spotted a long-haired young woman waiting amidst the crowd. She wore her chestnut hair in two long braids that swung and swayed as she waved, her iconic tuft of hair dancing in the breeze.

Her facial features were exquisitely symmetrical, unequivocally marking her as a rare beauty. However, the delicate bridge of her nose was adorned with round-framed glasses, somewhat detracting from her overall allure. Despite being just eighteen, her figure was remarkably well-developed, causing her school uniform to stretch tautly over her chest, emanating a sense of uncontainable tension.

"Sis!"

Jiang Li's gaze flickered, landing on the young woman. Bathing in the cool breeze, he walked over and met her in an embrace.

"Master instructed me to pick you up from the airport. I couldn't dare be negligent!" Sister chuckled softly, her eyes brimming with admiration.

"A year has passed, and little brother has grown quite a bit. Just last year, we were almost the same height, yet now you're half a head taller. Boys truly develop rapidly at this age," she mused.

No match for his sister.

He had seemingly grown to a D cup, unlike last year. Don't ask how he knew; those in the know, know.

"Pass me the suitcase."

Sister reached out, effortlessly taking the luggage from his grasp and carrying it herself.

"Sis, I could've carried it myself."

The suitcase had been deftly taken from him, and Jiang Li muttered under his breath.

"Isn't your health still quite poor? Weren't you only just able to get out of bed this time last year?"

Sister sized him up, concern evident in her gaze. His constitution had been incredibly weak. When she first saw him five years ago, he was lying in a hospital bed, his pallor haunting her to this day.

According to Master, Jiang Li had never left a sickbed since birth. It wasn't until around the beginning of last year that he could finally walk.

"It's okay, I'm much healthier now than before. Otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to fly to Tokyo alone."

Raising his arm, Jiang Li attempted to flex his biceps but quickly gave up; his slender arm bore no trace of muscle definition. He had been in this world for fifteen years—fifteen years without achieving the status of a Hokage, a Soul Reaper Captain, or a Grand Navy Admiral. He hadn't developed a strong physique, nor possessed vast ocean-like magic power. He was merely scraping by as an ordinary person, except for one thing—a handsome face.

Aside from that, he had nothing.

His life was undeniably austere.

"Alright, I'll help you carry it. It's just a short distance, after all. Let's go."

Sister chuckled, the crescent of her well-defined eyes and brows forming a smile. Without further ado, she hoisted the suitcase and led him toward the nearby station.

Jiang Li didn't object, silently following behind.

"Little brother, Master sent you to Pujun Academy, right?"

As they walked, Jiang Li's attention was drawn to sister's chestnut hair fluttering in the wind. He occasionally caught snippets of her questions.

"Yes."

Jiang Li withdrew his gaze, taking a couple of steps forward to walk alongside sister.

"Master said that, after your health had finally improved to the level of an average person, you shouldn't be cooped up at home all day. So, here I am, sent to Pujun Academy in Tokyo, to accompany and assist you."

Before sending him away, Master had told him to enroll at Pujun Academy and, after arriving in Tokyo, to contact sister for any matters. It felt like a typical plot in urban novels, where a hidden expert's disciple emerged from seclusion, gathering a group of followers and admirers while practicing the art of showing off.

Jiang Li silently ridiculed the scenario in his mind.

"Don't worry, leave it to me!"

Sister turned her head, her confident gaze fixed on Jiang Li as she patted her chest, promising to take care of everything.

"After all, I'm the Student Council President of Pujun Academy!"

Unlike him, sister was no stranger to Tokyo's bustling urban landscape. She was the first to set foot in such a metropolis, attend school, and appear in public as a "Disciple of the Fighting God." As his sister, it was her duty to guide and care for him.

"I've already made arrangements at the school. As long as you pass the entrance test, you'll share a dormitory with me. I've also purchased all the necessary daily supplies for you…"

Sister continued her animated chatter.

She had already made all the necessary preparations.

Those who knew would see her as Jiang Li's sister, while those who didn't might even mistake her for his mother.

As she spoke, a maternal warmth seemed to radiate from sister.

"Wait, I'm sharing a dormitory with you, sis?"

Jiang Li's ears perked up, catching the significance of sister's words.

"Oh! I forgot to tell you. This year, Pujun Academy has welcomed a new chairman who initiated an overhaul of the campus, introducing a co-ed living arrangement."

Sister suddenly realized, turning to Jiang Li with an exasperated smile.

"I did protest to the new chairman, but it was all in vain. Nevertheless, this arrangement will make it easier for me to take care of you."

Having crossed through time for so many years, Jiang Li had forgotten many details about this world. What he still remembered could be summarized as a blurry fragment of information about this world.

"Will it really be safe?"

Jiang Li stroked his chin, his gaze filled with concern as he turned to sister for reassurance.

"Huh?"

Sister tilted her head in confusion, a look of bewilderment on her face.

How did co-ed dormitories relate to safety?
