Chapter Four

Indra was currently walking down the streets of Konoha with his gunbai strapped to his back. It was winter now, and was snowing heavily but that wasn't a problem for Indra. He has trained every single day to the very limit of his body since he came to Konoha, continuously increasing his strength. While also getting reacquainted with the training his physical body had received from Jigen. He was becoming hell-bent on becoming stronger and it was beginning to become an obsession for him.

Upon arriving at the training ground, Indra saw a black haired man already training in it. He didn't bother saying anything to the man as he already knew who he was and the training ground was an open one so he just turned back with the intention of leaving for a different training ground.

"Are you not going to train here anymore Indra?" the man asked the departing Indra.

"I'm just heading to a different training ground, I don't want to disturb the Shodai Hokage's training," came the reply from Indra, shocking the disguised Hashirama.

Chuckling Hashirama undid his disguise before speaking to Indra, "You've grown a lot since you got here, Indra. Since you're here join me, I can teach you a couple of things." Hashirama sat down and then motioned to Indra to sit down right next to him. "I have an idea of your general skill set, and since your strongest aspect is physical combat, I'd be teaching you ninjutsu. First of all, we have to find out your nature release affinity and then I'd teach you a suitable C-rank jutsu."

Bringing out a chakra paper he passed it on to Indra, "Send you chakra into the paper and we'd find out your affinity."

Indra nodded, taking the chakra paper from Hashirama he did as instructed, sending his chakra into the paper but the reaction was shocking to not just him but also Hashirama. "What does this mean?" Indra asked, looking at the chakra paper that had no reaction whatsoever.

"Huh?! just try it again," Hashirama said.

So they tried it again, and then again, and again, a total of ten times and using multiple chakra papers but the reaction didn't change, the chakra paper didn't react to his chakra at all.

"I've never experienced this before," Hashirama said starching his chin. "Normally the chakra paper would turn damp if you had a water affinity, would catch fire and then turn to ash if you had a fire affinity, split in half if you had wind, wrinkle if you had lightning, and then turn to dirt and crumble away if you had earth chakra nature.

It is possible to have two or more chakra nature but only the highest affinity would be reflected on the chakra paper. So you either have no chakra nature, which isn't possible. Or you had an equal affinity to every chakra nature which is highly improbable."

"This would make it harder to teach you as we'd have to find if you can actually use. You'd be learning 5 c-rank jutsu since I'd teach you the five chakra nature simultaneously so your workload would be higher. Are you prepared for that?" Hashirama asked, looking directly at Indra. Talent would only take you so far, if Indra wasn't willing to put in the extra work it would be a shame.

Indra nodded and Hashirama smiled, he already knows about the insane work ethics of Indra so he already expected him to agree to the extra training.

"Good, we'd be starting with fire chakra nature, since it's the most common one in the Land of Fire, and based on your Byakugan, you're related to the Hyuga clan.

Fire release is dangerous so you have to do as I say. First of all, activate your Byakugan, then I want you to pay attention to how I move my chakra and then mould it into flames before releasing it through my mouth."

Snake → Ram → Monkey → Boar → Horse → Tiger

'Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique'

Hashirama did the hand sign for the jutsu then expelled a 10meter orb of fire from his mouth, but the orb of fire disappeared after a few meters. Indra was. surprised at how the orb of fire just disappeared. But Hashirama told him why before he could ask, "The jutsu disappeared because I made it so, with enough chakra control, it is possible to control the jutsu and even the temperature of a fire jutsu after it has been released. By using the least chakra possible, the fire dissipated. Don't worry about that for now, it is still beyond your current skill set."

"Ok then, your turn. Don't be disappointed if you're not able to complete it on your first try."

Indra did the hand signs for the jutsu, taking a deep breath he expelled a 30 meter orb of fire from his mouth, stunning Hashirama. The fire orb travelled for a few meters but wooden beams jut out of the ground, creating a wooden dome around the fire jutsu.

*Boom*

The fire jutsu exploded, destroying the wooden dome and sending wooden bits and dust everywhere.

"That's impressive Indra," Hashirama stated. "Now I'd show you a lightning release jutsu. Do you know how chakra natures correlate with each other?" He asked Indra.

"Yes I do," came the response from Indra. "Fire is weak against Water but strong against Wind."

"Ok, ok. That's enough, you don't need to list them out." Hashirama said cutting off Indra. "Since we can now assume you have a Fire change in chakra nature, It's possible to also have lightning nature release. But we'd be practicing all of them."

Hashirama showed Indra the 'Lightning Release: Lightning Arrow', and Indra was able to do the jutsu on his first try. And then the wind release jutsu, 'Wind Release: Great Breakthrough' with Indra recreating it on his first try. At this point Hashirama was already getting excited, 'Three chakra nature, what a genius. It can't be possible that he has all five? can it?'

"Next on water release."

'Water Release: Water Clone Technique'

"Next on earth release."

'Earth Release: Earth Style-Wall'

At this point in time, Hashirama was already sweating, it takes a jonin to be able to use a different chakra nature than their original affinity, and standing in front of him is a nine year old able to use all five chakra natures on his very first try. 'What a genius, I must keep him loyal to the village at all cost.'

"Indra!" Hashirama called out as he walked towards the boy that had just used 5 c-rank jutsu for the first time. "You are clearly way more skilled than academy students, even a mid-rank jonin might not be your match. So do you want to graduate from the academy? I'd take you as my student if you are interested."

Indra didn't bother to think about it before giving his answer, "Yes Hokage, I would like that."

"That's good, I'd process your graduation tomorrow," Hashirama said.

Ruffling Indra's head, he said. "You should refer to me as sensei from now on."

"Yes sensei!!"

The news of Hashirama, the Shodai Hokage, and the Shinobi no Kami taking a student quickly spread around the village and by extension the five great shinobi villages. This wasn't exactly a bad thing for Indra, but it wasn't a good thing either.

Other villages started taking an interest in Indra, and some unsavoury characters were also taking an interest in him too. Konoha shinobi wanted to see how powerful he'd grow up to become, as they were already touting him to be the Hokage after Tobirama. While the other villages didn't want someone powerful to appear in another village and as you can expect assassination attempts were already in motion.

[Two Years Later - Indra's Current Age - Twelve]

Indra was currently dealing with the greatest annoyance since he became the Shodai Hokage's student, the annoying six year old granddaughter of Hashirama. "What do you want this time Tsunade?" He asked the hyperactive child.

There was nothing he could do about the rambunctious child, so he had to put up with her, and her grandfather. He doesn't even remember how many times he had been dragged to a gambling house because Hashirama calls it training. The amount of money he and his granddaughter has lost surprises him every time.

"You said you were going to teach me today, and you've been ignoring me since." Tsunade said, pouting a little.

"Right, I will teach you later, I have to see Hashirama-sensei."

Indra left Tsunade at the Senju compound, heading towards the Hokage tower as his meeting with Hashirama was in the Hokage's Office.

"Come in," After knocking on the door, Indra heard the voice of Tobirama from inside the office. Entering the office, he saw Hashirama, standing behind the seating Tobirama alongside another man with a mask on.

"You sent for me Hashirama-sensei," He said, ignoring everyone else.

Hashirama sighed seeing how Indra just ignored the room occupants, including the Hokage. He had tried to get him to open up a little bit but it hasn't worked at all, he even allowed Tsunade to spend time with him but he found his cute granddaughter annoying instead.

"I've been sensei for two years now Indra, and I can say I've taught you everything you need to become a powerful Konoha shinobi, "Hashirama said, stressing 'Konoha Shinobi'. "While you have the ability to rival an elite jonin, you lack the experience of one. So I want you to join Tobirama's Anbu, there you can gain valuable battle experience."

Indra stood for a few minutes thinking about the offer of his sensei, growing the room in complete silence.

"I'd have to refuse Hashirama-sensei," He finally replied, stunning everyone in the room. He has been obsessively chasing power since he came to the village three years ago, and now he's been offered the chance to gain more but he refused.

"Why?"Tobirama coldly asked.

"Because I'm leaving the village."
