"You're back. Where did you go? You just up and left." Hermione asked worriedly as Harry sat down in the great hall for dinner.

"Hey Hermione. I was just at my godfather's trial. Stuff happened and we got delayed." Harry said as he filled up his plate with a few chunks of meat roast and bread.

"A trial. Is he alright?" She asked.

"Yeah. He's fine. You'll hear about it tomorrow morning in the daily prophet. After all, it was a very high-profile case."

"By the way, did you happen to see a rat before you left. Ron lost his." Hermione asked suddenly.

"Not that I remember. Maybe it just died in some corner of the castle, you know. It was quite old."

"Maybe, but I heard him say that the rat was with his family for almost 10 years. He thinks it might be a magical beast." She continued.

"Maybe. Who knows. It might turn up, it might not. Only time will tell." Harry nonchalantly answered as he stuffed food in his mouth.

The great hall was filled with chatter and noise of the whole school eating dinner at the same time. Under this bustling environment, no one noticed a dead eyed red head heading to the Gryffindor table, walking as if he had lost his mind.

Just this evening, Ron Weasley along with the other Weasley's were called to the headmaster's office to be questioned by aurors and hit wizards.

When the Weasley family found out about their pet rat being an animagus criminal, their brains stopped working and their soul almost left their bodies.

Ron was hit the hardest. He had been keeping the rat as his pet and had him sleep in the same bed as him. When he was shown a photo of Peter Pettigrew, he threw up on the spot and fainted.

Only after a few hours of reassurance and checking for any signs of abuse or antagonistic traces, did the authorities clear the children to go back to class.

Ever since the revelation, Ron acted like a zombie.

The night passed quickly and the next day came.

During breakfast, many were waiting for the morning mail as they ate heartily.

Flap, flap, flap.

The sound of wings flapping sounded as tens of owls rushed into the great hall and dropped various parcels and rolls of newspaper.

"What the hell? Sirius Black is innocent!!!" Similar screams sounded all over the hall as students read the article on the front page.

"Who's Sirius black?" Hermione asked as she looked over the shoulder of Dean sitting next to her.

"Sirius Black was thought to be the right hand man of you-know-who. He's the one who betrayed the potters. But this article says otherwise." Dean explained as he handed Hermione his paper.

Hermione snapped her head towards Harry as she looked at him worriedly.

"Don't look at me like that. Read the whole thing." Harry motioned towards the paper as he continued to eat his breakfast.

Slowly, as she went through the article, her eyes widened, and eyebrows rose.

"Framed for murder. Framed as a traitor. Spent years in Azkaban with a fair trial. How can the ministry have such an oversight? They should punish the people responsible for this horrifying oversight." Hermione fumed as she read on.

"Harry, I don't understand. How is this trial related to you?" Hermione asked confused.

"Well, Sirius Black is my godfather. I was at his trial, that's why I left school for a day or two." Harry explained.

"Then who is this peter Pettigrew. They say he was also a friend of your parents when they were in school. Why would he do such a horrible thing. Betraying one's friends." She shook her head with a sad expression.

"Do you know where they found him?" She continued.

"Well, that's the funny part. Peter Pettigrew was a rat animagus. He hid where he would be invisible." Harry winked at hermione.

"… NO!!!!" after processing his words for bit, she screamed out loud.

"Are you alright, miss granger. What happened?" McGonagall hurried towards the young witch and asked.

"No, no, no. That's impossible. That's not possible. He was in the same dorm as us. No, no." She went on a full of mental breakdown as the professor panicked.

"Mister Potter. Do you know what Miss Granger is talking about?" Seeing Harry sitting beside her, the professor asked.

"Oh, she found out about Peter Pettigrew being Ron Weasley's rat."

SILENCE.

Total silence.

"WHATTTTTT!!?????" Like a stone dropping in a calm lake, the ripples of the words spread out like wildfire. The students screamed and panicked, some puked their breakfasts, thinking about how close they were to a killer, while Harry's roommates, paled visibly.

"Shouldn't have said that." Harry muttered.
