8 The One with the Depressed Ross
At Ross Apartment
Adam and the boys were seated in Ross's apartment after they were done with the furnishings as Adam ran through everything himself while the others help a bit.
Joey: "dude, that was awesome, how did you know all the things about furnitures that will even put those professionals to shame"
Adam: "I just read the manual, everything you need to about it is in here"
Adam raised the manual as he said that.
Chandler: "sometimes, your intelligence baffles me, say between you and Ross, who is more smarter"
Ross: "no, Chandler, don't go down that route, you can't compare me or anyone else to Adam, he is way out of our league"
Joey: "if even Ross can say that, then you must be really smart, tell us Adam, how smart are you?"
Joey asked when he heard Ross saying Adam cannot be compared to him as he believed Ross to be a very smart guy.
Adam: "let's just say only a god can be more intelligent than the current me"
Adam said when he thought of how terrifying the prodigy system is.
Chandler: "we asked how intelligent you are not for you to boast about it. Sigh, Ross, I'm gonna need that drink right about now"
Ross got up to get them some drinks but he brought only one can of drink with a sad expression.
Ross: "this was Carol's favorite beer, she always drank it out of the can, I should have known"
Ross explained to them.
Joey: "hey Ross, let me ask you a question, she got the furnitures, the stereo, the good TV, what did you get?"
Joey asked as when they were busy putting the furniture together, they discovered that Ross's apartment was empty and Adam had to even call his company to transport some of the electronic stuffs and he purchased the remaining things for the house.
Ross: "you guys"
Joey and Chandler: "oh God. Oh my God; you got screwed"
Adam: "Ross, what have I been telling all this time?"
Ross: "you said not to let anyone walk over me especially women"
Adam: "correct, but you did exactly just that, you brought everything in the house before, correct?"
Adams asked Ross to which the Latter nodded his head.
Adam: "and you let her take everything, leaving you with only the fridge which is filled with alcohol for you to get drunk, it is even surprising she didn't kick you out of the apartment, how wonderful would that have been?"
Adam said as he got a drink for himself and the others.
Adam: "you know, I've always knew that something was off with that Carol when she started starring at Monica's ass during the wedding"
Adam said as he handed them the drinks.
Chandler: "you knew and you didn't say anything?"
Adam: "what do you want me to say, 'hey Ross, I think your wife to be might be a lesbian candidate, so I will advise you not to continue with the wedding?' That would have been the end of me as Aunt Judy would have definitely skinned me alive"
The boys laughed at that but Ross with his kill joy lifestyle had to do what he does best with his depressing mood.
Ross: "you know what is scary? What of there's only one woman for everybody? You know, I mean, what if you get one woman and that's it? Unfortunately in my case, there was only one woman for her"
Joey: "what are you talking about? One woman"
Joey said as he went to bring another extra drinks for them as he continued.
Joey: "that's like saying there's only one flavour of ice cream for you, let me tell you something Ross, there's lot's of flavours out there, there's rocky road and cookie dough and bing, cherry vanilla, you can get them with jimmied or nuts or whipped cream, this is the best thing that ever happened to you, you got married, you were like, what, 8?"
The guys chuckled at that before Joey continued.
Joey: "welcome back to the world. Grab a spoon"
Ross: "I honestly don't know if I'm hungry or horny"
Chandler: "then stay out of my freezer"
Chandler said as he, Adam and Joey moved away from Ross.
A few minutes of silent passed as Ross spoke.
Ross: "grab a spoon, do you know how long its been since I grabbed a spoon? Do the words 'Billy, don't be a hero' mean anything to you?"
Ross said as he looked at the three guys before him as he continued.
Ross: "you know, here's the thing, even if I could get it together enough... umm...to ask a woman out...who am I gonna ask?"
Adam: "Rachel"
Everyone looked at Adam as soon as he said that.
Adam: "look, I know you had a thing for her back in high school and now that you are both single, this is the right time, the opportunity for you to be together, you know, I don't want to rush you into anything and I don't want you to ask her out right given her current situation but you can give her hints and not your stupid hint and when you see that she is over her failed marriage, you swoop in and be a gentleman to her, I can even help you if you want but all I'm saying is you deserve to be happy and stop whinning about your lesbian wife and her lover, to hell with them and to make this night even more fun, let's hit the strip joint"
Adam said as he thought of even opening a club and since he has his face why not make it even more interesting.
Joey: "now, you are speaking my language, come on Ross, let's show you the other side of life"
Ross agreed as they all went out of the apartment only to discover that Adam's car is only a two sitter so they had to take a cab.
The Next day.
Monica's Apartment
Rachel: "isn't this amazing? I mean, I have never made a coffee before in my entire love life"
Chandler: "that is amazing"
Joey: "congratulations, while you're on a roll, if you feel like you gotta make a western omelet or something"
Joey said to Rachel who was happy that she made her first coffee ever and served it to both Chandler and Joey.
They both drankbthe coffee only to find out that it was very bad so they threw it away.
Joey: "although, actually, I'm really not that hungry this morning"
Monica came out of her room and paused when she saw the boys in her apartment, then Rachel greeted her when she saw her.
Rachel: "good morning"
Monica: "good morning"
Joey and Chandler: "morning"
Paul also walked out of Monica's room which surprised them.
They all greeted Paul as he also greeted them back.
Monica quickly walked him out of the apartment and the gazes of everyone.
Monica: "I had a really great time last night"
The others also chimed to listen their conversation.
Paul: "Thank you. Thank you so much"
Monica: "we'll talk later, okay?"
Paul: "yeah"
They both kissed for a while before they separated and Paul went his way after thanking Monica once again.
Joey: "that wasn't a real date, what the hell do you do on a real date?"
Monica: "shut up and put my table back"
Joey: "okay"
Chandler: "all right kids, I gotta get back to work, if I don't input those numbers, it doesn't make much of a difference"
Chandler said as he got up and walked towards the door only for him to stand close to it.
Rachel: "so like, you all have jobs?"
Monica: "yeah, we all have jobs, see, that's how we buy stuff"
Monica told Rachel as she made it obvious to her.
Joey: "yeah, I'm an actor"
Rachel: "wow, would I have seen you in anything?"
Joey: "oh I doubt it, mostly regional work"
Monica: "unless you happened to catch the Wee One's production of Pinocchio"
Chandler: " 'look, Geppeto, I'm a real live boy' "
Chandler and Monica made fun of Joey.
Joey: "I will not take this abuse, besides, Adam has something in store for me when he get into the entertainment industry, with that, it won't be long before I take myself to stardom"
Joey said as he walked to the door and opened it.
Chandler: "you are right, I'm sorry (singing) once I was a wooden boy, a wooden boy"
Chandler sang and danced his way out of the apartment.
Monica and Rachel talked for a little while before Monica stood up to go to work.
Rachel: "oh, wish me luck"
Monica: "what for?"
Rachel: "I'm gonna go get one of those job things"
